Moonshadows Ratings and Reviews
I had the lobster and crab linguine. It was truly satisfying and delicious. Loved the chill vibe not too loud, loved my view (outdoors) really loved my drink! Pineapple mint whisky (forgot the name) didn't really like my appetizer ut was octopus with beans. I liked the texture was just missing a bit of flavor, may be salt. I loved this place and can't wait till my next day off to come back.
We enjoy the beachfront restaurants in the Malibu area, and this one is the most reasonably priced, with a decent menu containing a good mix of choices. The fried Calamari platter has some little sardine sized fish that are quite tasty, the clam chowder is exceptional, salmon was perfect. Tried both signature cocktails and was impressed with the bartender’s skills. The staff really deserves commendation, from the courteous valet, to the hostess with the big friendly smile, to our server, Randy, with his extreme professionalism, and last but not least the bus staff, who were attentive and very helpful. The scenery of course is fantastic, and the place felt very clean - all in all a wonderful outing!
The lobster special was delicious and the price was right! This was our second year attending the lobster special and we look forward to attending it again next year. The receptionist was very friendly and professional as was our server. We sat outside on the patio, and even though it was a cool evening, the heaters gave us just enough warmth. We invited friends to join us who had never been to Moonshadows before and they were very impressed. I highly recommend this restaurant and give it a 5!!
We had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is comfortable with an outstanding view of the sunset and the ocean. The food was prepared beautifully and our server Vanessa was perfect. This dining experience was excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit.
I took my wife here to Celebrate our six months of being married. Everything was great from
The service to the food and the ambiance. The only thing that would have made it better is when i made reservations i let them know it was our anniversary and they told me they would bring out a desert with happy anniversary written on it. We didn’t get it unfortunately.
Amazing view, delicious food, good selection of cocktails and superb service. The food was delicious. I think this is one of the top 10 romantic restaurants I've been to. I highly recommend seating on the patio. The views are fantastic. We went to 4:30 PM dining to experience the sunset which was fantastic.
The restaurant allowed a table of school girls to sit next to my wife and I and when we asked to move there were no tables available. Our evening was ruined and my wife’s 62 birthday was a disaster because of the staff. Not recommended and never going again.
The view at sunset was incredible. The service was outstanding. The food was a disappointment. My husband ordered the Pork Chop, recommended by our server, which was over cooked and dry. I ordered the Gnocchi which was to include pieces of scallops. There were no scallops in my dish. The party we were dining with did enjoy the Clam Chowder, Tuna and Lobster Salad.
The bread was burnt and I ate some of it. This left a burnt taste in my pallet which did not go away so all the other food had a burnt after taste to me. unfortunately due to this I don't think I can really rate the quality of the food. Also the butter they gave out with the bread was frozen and made it hard to spread onto the bread.
I have been to this restaurant several times before and always looked forward to going back......not any more. The customer service was appalling from the moment we walked through the door with the girls on the front desk chatting away not even bothering to acknowledge us for a good 25 seconds. We then were sat down and from that moment we were constantly rushed by our waiter to choose a wine, choose our starters and our main course. We dropped hits that we like to take our time, enjoy the experience etc etc but he didn’t get it.
We sat down at 8.20 and by about 9.55 he was asking if we could settle the bill as he’d had a long day and wanted to finish his shift. The worst $250 I’ve spent in a restaurant. Will never go back. There are lots of restaurants along that stretch. Time to find a new one.
We arrived very early and the bar staff was great. They kept us updated on table availability while we enjoyed the beautiful view. Table service was excellent too, the server provided good advice to help us decide. We were very happy with the food and service.
