MoonFish - Orlando Ratings and Reviews
The evening began with a great big warm welcome from Dan at the bar; which was packed due to the great happy hour specials. My holiday dinner with wonderful friends got even better when we were greeted by our server, Justin. All four of us cannot wait to return! Justin was an outstanding server and the menu is fabulous; love the wine pairing and definitely on board for the bourbon pairings at our next visit. It was a perfect evening...complimentary valet, too!!
We were seated promptly for a friday night it was not busy at all. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The calamari was not hot and someone in the kitchen was certainly heavy handed with the peanut sauce the calamari was too dark for me I didn't enjoy it. For my entree I ordered the special that night and I was not told that it contained mushroom, which I'm allergic to, the manager came over and offered to get me a dish without mushrooms, I appreciated that. I just did not enjoy this restaurant .
Limited menu for an establishment specializing in seafood in Florida. Just rather average fare trumped up in vaulted ceilings and gouache surroundings for the appearance of inventive dining. Staff are professional and well-heeled. Wine list is unimaginative.
Service was very slow it take 15 minutes for the waiter to come to our table and another 10 min. to bring our drinks. Starter was cold and we get a warmer starter later. Main course was fish and was very salty and the tuna was absolute not good. We have eaten here before and it was great that time!
I've been here before and loved it! They were just a little bit off on this visit. We ordered the mussels and they came to the table lukewarm and a few of them were not really cooked at all. The crusty bread we wanted with the mussels came about 15 minutes after we were done. I ordered the sea bass. Again, lukewarm and under cooked. One other ordered the crab appetizer and it was very good.
The food was excellent but our service was too slow. We watched as others got their food before us yet they were seated after us. Then we watched as new arrivals ate and left and we were still there waiting for our food. I almost dehydrated waiting for my iced tea which required me asking more than once. The most annoying part of our meal was our waitress because she only came by twice and both times said how she was given a private room all her own and didn't want to leave but they kept coming for her. No, I will never go back. It took 3 1/2 hours for our food. I was exhausted and just wanted out.
Very expensive, server was friendly very overbearing. Server was very misleading regarding different preparations of menu items. When I ask her about A dish of Chilean sea bass on the menu I was told I could have it prepared with crabmeat a different sauce and green beans with no mention of an up charge. When the bill came there was a $10 up charge.was told however I would like it.
Food was wonderful. We had sushi, fish, and cocktails that were delicious. Have a chocolate martini! One family member had the NY Strip Steak and it was fine. Not full of flavor and one of those "AH" experiences when you taste the first bite. Disappointing but not bad, just not wonderful. Chocolate cake was marvelous and huge - three of us did not finish it.
This was our first time at Moonfish and we were very pleased with every aspect of our experience. When we asked for something that was not on the menu, the chef gladly made the appetizer for our party. They also were very accommodating in leaving us alone to talk once our meal was finished...as this was a business dinner...and we had things to discuss. All in all, a great experience for us all.
I would have given a 5 star rating overall except that my friends and I had to shout to each other to be heard. If you wish to have dinner conversation, don't sit in the booth opposite the open kitchen hearth. Great foodie show, but it's LOUD. Otherwise, our food was exceptional and our service impeccable. Next time I'll know to ask to be farther from the action zone.
Great customer service. Servers are knowledgeable about the menu and able to make appropriate recommendations. Customer focus is excellent. Allowing for a leisurely meal with minimum interruptions. Created a personalized birthday experience without prior knowledge of the event.
We found the menu full of interesting and delicious choices making our entree selection difficult. Every choice at our table was spot on -- delicious, strong presentation, hot and tasty. The wine list was excellent and the prices not that egregious for Orlando. Table service was excellent and the ambience just right. We all will recommend the Moonfish to anyone.
Moo nfish is where we go for special occasions. The food is delicious, atmosphere nice, and service excellent!
Our waitress Joy was spectacular! We got there early and were seated in the closed area of the bar.
Since we were early we were alone there for most of the meal. She took our picture since it was our 40 th anniversary. We had received a offer from Moonfish since we had been there for a previous anniversary bad got free champagne toast and the most delicious salted Carmel cheesecake!
The entire meal was great and The staff made it a truly special occasion!
Good was really good as was the service. They didn't have the initial wine we chose and there was a $30 special that wasn't discussed until we brought it up.
Dessert was excellent. The Bananas Foster is a must!
We were overcharged for our $30 specials and didn't realize it until we left. not anything crazy but still not the best after meal experience.
Service was very slow for our drinks and food (it took us 1.5 hours to order and receive all of our food); do not recommend if you are in a hurry. They took our order down 3 times which seemed odd since we told them what we wanted the first time; just a bit of an awkward experience; however, the food was WONDERFUL and was exactly what we were looking for.
