Some servers were not very attentive and seemed to not like their job/ stomping around looking sour. Slow service as well. Braised short ribs and steak frites very good but portions small for the price. I think it could it would not take much to make it a top notch experience- just a few tweaks .

Such a great atmosphere. Dishes that went together so well. I had the half chicken breast with carrots and turnips. Such a great comfort dish. My date had the halibut special that was so fresh. Dessert was a piece of cheesecake that was a meal in itself. Love coming here. Always a treat!

Very disappointing. However, we had been warned. Recommended through our hotel guidebook. Though, as we were leaving the hotel another guest warned us that they ate there the night before and the lobster lemoncello was really bad. "Too many flavors going on", she said. Not something I would order, just for that reason, so we dismissed their comment and carried on with our reservation. First of all, walking from the parking lot to the front door, there is no obvious visible front entrance. \ No signage. We found what looked like a porch. Just surmised this must be the way in. When walked in for dinner, the pub side was bright, lively, full of people. Was afraid it might get too loud to hear ourselves so opted for the dining room which was cavernous and depressingly lifeless, dark, the interior dated in no particular style. Oddly lit. Insects crawling up the curtain next to me. The server started her introduction to the menu with something like, "things are different from what you see on the menu" then proceeded to go through the various discrepancies. It's not unusual for a kitchen to pivot, based on shortages but there were too many modifcations to the point of annoying- why offer this menu? Hesitatingly, I ordered a salad/ which included a small baguette ( figured I could make a salad sandwich, if necessary). But what turned out to be "fresh pear marinated in balsamic" tasted out of a tin. Btw "The salad does not come with bread", a young man responded to my query when no bread was present with my order. Our server came over to ask if there was anything wrong. She then quickly disappeard to came back with some dinner rolls. The lettuce was wilted and dressing had little taste. My husband's steak was ok. I do not drink. He had a glass of wine. The meal was $85.

We have been to Mooncussers several times. The food is consistent and good. We were sorry to see that they no longer have the small plate/large plate options.

Good food and excellent service but we sat at a table in the bar and it was LOUD. Some diners just don't care about others. Table of 5 next to us were yelling at each other. Not the restaurants fault, just inconsiderate diners. Choose the dining room over the bar if you dine there.

Made a reservation without ever having eaten here. Old school tavern. Mussels appetizer was terrific. Salmon main course was moist and delicious. Service was excellent. Highly recommended this restaurant. Anxious to try another selection.

Fantastic food as always. We had the cerviche for a starter. I had the duck breast cooked perfectly (I always get this). Husband had the steak frites (always gets this). Others had the risotto with scallops, lobster pasta and chicken fingers. Everything was perfect. Pear martini was on point. Crème brûlée for dessert. As always a fantastic meal and service on point. Highly recommend. We have never had a bad meal and first time bringing the teenagers with us and now it’s on of their favorites to go to.

This was just meh. Service was slow. Food was incredibly slow coming out and the fish was overcooked. The flavor was good but sadly lackluster with the disappointing fish. On the positive side, portions were generous.

Our server was personable, didn’t rush us but was attentive. We really enjoyed the short rib taco appetizer. I got the candied salad with shrimp. The salad was nicely done. My husband got the Gorgonzola burger which he said was good. The atmosphere was relaxed. The tavern is full of wood so it’s not bright and we sat in the bar. We would go back

The food was wonderful! The Duck was nice and tender with a great taste. The flat steak was cooked perfectly to order, very tender and juicy. The salmon was delectable! The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful! We would definitely recommend and visit again!

My new favorite restaurant on the Cape! We felt so welcomed from the moment we arrived. Our server was great and the food was amazing! My mom had the salmon and I had the Mooncussers burger which was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! So so delicious. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time with good friends. The food - scallops, halibut and duck - was excellent. Dessert - crème brûlée and lava cake - was delicious. Memorable night!

Ok true review. I was there tonight only because I couldn’t get any reservations anywhere else. I’ve been here before I was just ok. But Omg what happened this place is amazing!! There were four of us and our great server Brian was so great with all. Two of us got salmon so so good my husband got the pork chop. So so good and our other friend got halibut in which I turned around and he had ate it all! I am so coming back!! Such a great place!! I’m so happy I gave it another chance. So happy.

What a lovely find for our Labor Day weekend dinner! Charming spot in an antique building that added to the ambiance. Previous comments about the lighting are not warranted...the sun was going down and the light coming thru the windows only lasted a short time...Great service from our waitress, quick delivery of courses but no rushed feeling. With a 6pm reservation, we were able to get in before the sound went up. The bar area is cozy and a good place to wait for a table as needed. I ordered the PEI muscles that were incredibly well prepared and presented. Tiny and sweet and not over cooked, they were bathed in a most excellent Dijonnaise broth with plenty of fresh garlic and fresh herbs...worth asking for the soup spoon as to not miss a drop! My entree was the Duck breast with red cabbage and tiny roasted potatoes...excellent preparation and well cooked as to avoid that gamy rubber duck breast fiasco that so often happens when duck is offered...attention to detail also was well noted...with beautifully cut vegetables and herbs used as garnish that were well beyond the typical chopped parsley...we noticed!! Desert selection was the Creme Brulee with berries...well executed. As a classically trained chef, I don't often sing the praises of commercial kitchens, however, this meal was noteworthy and a very good value for those who enjoy fine dining.

We have been coming to Mooncussers since they first opend. Very friendly family and staff. Typically, sit at the bar. The bartenders always great service and exellent cocktails. Food is consistently great.

We requested the small dining area off the bar for our group and Annie was kind enough to make it work for us. We had a lovely evening and we could easily hear our friends. The food and service were terrific as always. Any season, Mooncussers is a reliable and warm place for a nice dinner.

Wonderful discovery! Restaurant that offers an interesting and delicious menu in a gracious Cape setting. (There is also a room in the bar area; we were in the bistro room) Excellent appetizers - mini short rib tacos, stuffed quahog. Drinks were interesting and generous. (peggytini) Main courses, scallops with =veggie risotto, was absolutely outstanding. Sonia, our waitress was also a delight.

We were first escorted to a rather noisy room, but were kindly accommodated in the quieter bar area. The meal was delivered surprisingly quick, almost too soon, but I know restaurants pre-prep things when extremely busy, which is the case here on Cape Cod, summers. The duck breast with red cabbage was delicious, but the fingerling potatoes were overcooked and rubbery. My friend's scallop dish, "delicious", said he. The owners are extremely warm, friendly people, and always there overseeing things. I bet they appreciate feedback in reviews and aim to correct. That's the kind of people they are. I like Mooncussers very much, am a year-round resident, and I shall return.

Way too noisy. Food was great however at a upscale restaurant I didn’t think it was necessary to ask for the salad to be served first and not in a small bowl on the same plate with the entree. Next time I’ll know better.
