My beer choice was out. They were out of several items. One side of of my sandwich was burned (so was the lady's at the next table to us) and the broccoli was warm not cooked. Husband's food was bland and ordinary, nothing special. They took the cost of my dinner off the bill, but how do you run out of so many items, burn food and under cook food AND then serve it to the customers?
We enjoyed the flight of beers but wish Restaurant would offer 4 beer flight. The beers are very good - we are connoisseurs from the NW and review every detail.
Food very good - enjoyed appetizer, then dinner.
Our waiter, Matthew, most helpful and knew the menu. He made good suggestions.
This is a brewery so the best part of the experience is the brew. The food is good. Some is typical bar fare but some of the starters are delicious and outside the typical bar menu (shrimp on ravioli). The restaurant has character and there are many ghost stories about the building where this restaurant is located.
Great beers. Food was meh. Stick to bar food and their wonderful beer and you’ll enjoy this place.
Our waitress was great, but this restaurant was out of everything! Out of sweet potato fries, out of fried green tomatoes, out of burgers (how can a restaurant that serves several different burgers be out?), out of two other main dishes we tried to order.
We thought we were being punked or on candid camera, but no.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
It is very noisy and crowded. Difficult for two people to hold conversation. Understaffed for waitresses, long wait for service. Finally got drink but changed mind about eating there and went elsewhere.
Ten people for a birthday dinner. Made reservations weeks ago & noted "b'day" on Open Table. The birthday was never acknowledged by Moon River. The place was maybe 1/3rd full at best but took forever to get our drinks. We contemplated going up to the bar but there was a line yet only a few people seated at the bar...maybe other tables had issues too! Food (most ate burgers) was average at best. No vegan options for 1 person in our party; salad & fries was her dinner. Waitress was rather snotty right off the bat when we asked to order food as drinks were taking forever..."Well, I've been working on your table the whole time!" Guess she was brewing the beer?? Beer selection limited to their beers "well we ARE a brewery!" per the waitress. Been to Savannah MANY times but 1st & LAST time to Moon River.
I chose Moon River Brewing because it allows pets on the patio. The location is very convenient, and easy to find. The food was very good and our waitress was great. Everyone was so friendly to our dogs. They even keep water bowls for the dogs. There are lots of tables outside, so except on the busiest of nights you should be able to situate yourself away from other tables if you wish.
Thanks very much for allowing our pets to join us. I would not have been able to try your restaurant without that option.
Party of 8 called for reservations because we were unaware going out with a large group if they would be able to accommodate. Sadly they were. We sat down 15 minutes after they opened we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were greeted by our server. He got us drinks and took our order. About 10 minutes after we ordered another table sat down. After another 30 minutes 4 people in our party received our food. 10 minutes later I asked where the rest of the food was. The waiter said it was coming. And that he’s sorry but he’s only allowed to put 4 orders in at a time. Another 5 minutes goes by, and the other table got their food. I went to speak to a manager and she apologized and offered us 10% off. The rest of our party then got their food. It was mediocre. And he asked if we wanted to go drinks. Someone said yes, a sweet tea to go. And he brought someone else a lemonade and not the sweet tea. There are so many other restaurants in Savannah go somewhere else.
Good basic brew pub. Beers were fine, although nothing special. Same with food, pretty much what you would expect in a well done brew pub burger. Erin, our server was delightful and made the evening even better. If you're looking for a beer and burger in Savannah, check it out.
Should not be a Open Table's list. Many other great restaurants in Savannah.
We had a big group and they were very accommodating!! Service and food were great!!
The service, beer and view was AMAZING. The food however was on par. I would recommend this place for drinks and service.
The restaurant ruined our New Years’s. We went with our family, All of us ordered the Filet Mignon but gave specific orders not to bring at same time as appetizers. Well, they didn’t. They brought out the entrees before the appetizers ( after waiting for a half hour ). We refused the appetizers and ended up having an argument at the table because of the poor service. Our evening was ruined.
New Years Eve and service was spot on, very crowded too. Food was very good and eclectic menu. Good value too. We’ll be back.
Low County Crab Melt is all you need to know!! We got 3 during the process of the meal!
We had a party of 26, and our servers were fantastic!
They were out of so many beers, all their ciders, Tito’s, and it was only 8:30 on NYE! The burgers were okay but in general food nothing special and just not worth it.
Great brewery, where the locals eat. Wonderful service.
Food was average at best. Service was good, but the restaurant refused to budge from its policy of requiring ID for the purchase of an alcoholic beverage, even though my wife and I are both in our sixties. Disappointing.
We went for New Years. It was busy but the service was still fantastic.
This was our New Year’s Eve dinner. We really enjoyed the beer but the food just wasn’t much to brag on.
Considering the many amazing restaurants around it, this place is not worth your time. The food was below average and bland, the service was slow and every single person that works there was in a bad mood, from the hostesses, to the bartender, barback and waiter. Oh and the Brewing Company ran out of several of their beers. Just skip it.
Our family of 5 enjoyed eating at Moon River - good food, great location. Overall easy and pleasurable meal!
Very friendly service with good description of their southern food!
The food and service was horrible. I got sick from the burger. The menu selection is poor. The beer was the only thing that was tolerable. We will never return
Great pub. Husband is a big craft beer fan. He enjoyed their small batch choices. We enjoyed the salmon oscar, grass fed hamburgers and tacos. Son had their chocolate dessert.
Birthday, staff was amazing!
The delivery was a little slow at first in the drinks but I think the server just wasn’t comfortable using the drink tray as he brought out the drinks two at a time instead of all at once. The food was great and the server wasn’t too attentive so he wasn’t constantly interrupting conversation. The food was delicious. I had the tacodilla and it was some of the best brisket I’ve had.
The food was very subpar. I’ve definitely had way better food at a brewing company. The other 5 I’m the party agreed.
Great food and beer! Was a little put off by the hostess who called and in a snippy way advised if 80% of our party wasn't there our reservation would be cancelled. However, the food was so good I forgot all about her.
80%of your party must be there to sit down Nd get served.
Food was very disappointing and took forever. When our food did finally arrive it was wrong. Management did not handle the situation professionally. The only positive about the entire experience was our server. She was great. I will never eat there again nor will I ever recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Beer selection was great but the food was overpriced and tasteless. 3 out of 4 steak were burnt (ordered medium).
Visited here based on the positive reviews, however, the night we went the food wasn't all that great (my husband's burger was bland) and the beers tasted like the taps needed to be cleaned. Was hoping for better but likely won't visit again.
Fantastic as usual. We are regulars whenever we come to Savannah
The service was great, but the kitchen messed up badly. It was only after 4/5 meals were ready to be brought to the table that the kitchen told the server they were out of the 5th meal. Management made it right and comped the 5th meal so that was appreciated, but other meals were missing bacon and the made up burger came out well done rather than medium. I’d give it another chance.
Went for dinner & drinks. Wait staff was very friendly. Food is standard pub/bar food. Served quickly. Place is nice, we sat inside because it was raining, but I think we would have enjoyed sitting outside more had the weather cooperated.
This was a special trip to Savannah and wanted to experience all the "good places". This restaurant was highly recommended. It is a fun place, the service was very good but can't say the food was all that great. The Fried Green tomatoes had a good flavor but they were overcooked so that the coating was hard. The Tacodillos (brisket soft tacos) were bland and the brisket was very tough. The French Fries were good and our waiter was very good. ***Didn't see any ghost :)
Loved it.... whenever we have guests staying at our home, we love to bring them to Moonriver.... we know that the service and food will be good and that our guest will enjoy the experience..... I love to tell them the ghost story-adds to the whole experience.
