Moon River Brewing Company Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant ruined our New Years’s. We went with our family, All of us ordered the Filet Mignon but gave specific orders not to bring at same time as appetizers. Well, they didn’t. They brought out the entrees before the appetizers ( after waiting for a half hour ). We refused the appetizers and ended up having an argument at the table because of the poor service. Our evening was ruined.
Considering the many amazing restaurants around it, this place is not worth your time. The food was below average and bland, the service was slow and every single person that works there was in a bad mood, from the hostesses, to the bartender, barback and waiter. Oh and the Brewing Company ran out of several of their beers. Just skip it.
The delivery was a little slow at first in the drinks but I think the server just wasn’t comfortable using the drink tray as he brought out the drinks two at a time instead of all at once. The food was great and the server wasn’t too attentive so he wasn’t constantly interrupting conversation. The food was delicious. I had the tacodilla and it was some of the best brisket I’ve had.
Food was very disappointing and took forever. When our food did finally arrive it was wrong. Management did not handle the situation professionally. The only positive about the entire experience was our server. She was great. I will never eat there again nor will I ever recommend this restaurant to anybody.
The service was great, but the kitchen messed up badly. It was only after 4/5 meals were ready to be brought to the table that the kitchen told the server they were out of the 5th meal. Management made it right and comped the 5th meal so that was appreciated, but other meals were missing bacon and the made up burger came out well done rather than medium. I’d give it another chance.
This was a special trip to Savannah and wanted to experience all the "good places". This restaurant was highly recommended. It is a fun place, the service was very good but can't say the food was all that great. The Fried Green tomatoes had a good flavor but they were overcooked so that the coating was hard. The Tacodillos (brisket soft tacos) were bland and the brisket was very tough. The French Fries were good and our waiter was very good. ***Didn't see any ghost :)
Loved it.... whenever we have guests staying at our home, we love to bring them to Moonriver.... we know that the service and food will be good and that our guest will enjoy the experience..... I love to tell them the ghost story-adds to the whole experience.
We have brought many friends here to eat since moving here in May and have had excellent service and food.... we love the food choices... This last visit, the waitress was not the most attentive or on the ball.... when asked, she didn't know what the special of the day was.... glasses (drink) has left empty and we had to get her attention to get refilled.... almost as if it was first day of waitressing.... food was great
This might be an ok place if you expect the bad service and it's not a special night. We made a reservation, but were seated under a music speaking right next to the restrooms and a very loud party. The music was loud enough that we had to tell to communicate. The waitress understood and agreed that it wasn't a good spot and told us that if we went to the outside tables, they could seat us immediately. The hostess there 9/2/2017 was so rude! We explained what had taken place inside, and she responded unapologetically, "they don't know anything about what goes on out here. If you want to be seated, it will be 20 minutes." We understand there is a bad apple for every bunch, so we just said okay and had our names placed on the list. After 20 minutes, we decided to check if we'd been called (it was very noisy and crowded). This time, the second hostess rolled her eyes and said, "just put them over there." We were sat at a spot that had been empty the whole time we were waiting. The table had water rings and food bits and had clearly not been cleaned off. I know this to be a health code violation because I work in food service. The person I was with wiped the table and seats off with there hand before sitting and the hostess said she bring some napkins (instead of sanitizing it properly). She did not bring napkins. After 10 minutes, our waitress showed up and asked us what we wanted to drink, when we said water and beer, she told us to get our own water from a 5 gallon cooler set up outside. We asked for a moment to decide, talked it over, and decided we had enough of the rudeness and decided to leave without ordering. On the way out the hostess chuckled and said "have a good night". It was really unbelievably bad. We were considering carrying this brew in our restaurant, but had a bad experience with the rep too. Too bad. Really wanted to support a local place.
We were visiting Savannah for Labor Day Weekend and decided to have dinner here. The menu had a variety of choices and the food was delicious! The humus and salsa appetizer was awesome! Our waitress was very attentive even with a full house. We will definitely go back on our next visit!
