Food was excellent and service was friendly but slow. Best potstickers in town and the Kung Pao was delicious. My guests each had a seafood dish that was a bit bland, but very generous on the seafood portions.
We were there for New Years eve. Very crowded when we arrived, but wait staff handled everything well. As in previous visits we ordered the Peking duck which the menu claims takes 45 minutes. Ours arrived sooner and our server dexterously wrapped the pancakes. Other stand-outs were the eggplant with garlic sauce, Mongolian beef and shrimp with a dark, deeply flavored lobster sauce. Nothing too exotic, just reliably good traditional Mandarin cooking served in unpretentious setting with pleasant and efficient wait staff.
The restaurant is small and cozy. The menu is large and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious.
best in china town this is the best place for great food
The chef and staff are wonderful. Food is always tasty and fresh and a great quality. Love them!
Holiday staff party
Everything was perfect. Food and service. We all had the best time. There were 10 of us.
You can find better food choices in China Town.
Ok but not great. A little too greasy. Soup mediocre. Noodles good. For the price it us excelent
Great food, had to box it all up to-go portions were substantial
A Chinese restaurant must not have high expectations from its customers, when it has forks on the table, and you have to request chopsticks. When we asked about items on the Chinese side of the menu, the server took my menu and flipped it to the “Americanized” side.
The egg drop soup was a gloopy mess of corn starch. Entrees lacked in flavor. Server forgot our tea, until another table requested some.
I made the booking based on online reviews. I’m sure Chinatown has better offerings.
The soup was delicious, but the service felt rushed and impersonal. The actual pricing was higher than the pricing listed in OpenTable. That lack of transparency was disappointing.
Great Chinese meal. Service excellent.
Both my husband and I agree that the food was outstanding! The service was prompt and friendly.
Prices are very reasonable. Love this restaurant!
Oil rich quality poor.
Always worth the drive to China Town, consistent, quality & tasty is what keeps us coming back.
The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Busy but friendly retautrant with the usual Chinese food favorites and the usual extensive menu. All food we had was well prepared, abundant and very reasonably priced. Food was flavorful and served attractively. Would definitely go back. One of my better Chinatown experiences. Great for kids.
great and delicious
I decided to try Moon Palace when we were passing through based on the strong reviews and availability for a reservation last minute. We had orange chicken and veggies and tofu and were really unimpressed. These simple dishes should be an easy one to be decent and they lacked flavor, the chicken was dried out and to top it all off the service was unfriendly. The veggie egg rolls were decent, maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. Definitely won’t be back, there has to be better options in the area.
The food was delicious!!! Our first time here and we’ll be back!!!
Sad to say but it’s been about 3 years since I’ve been here. Just not convenient. The first time the food was outstanding along with the portions but this past time the food was fair and the portions are much smaller. New management, new owner?
We loved everything, especially the salt and pepper squid!
Good food. Great service. Nice quiet place for dinner & conversation.
Seated us right away at a great round table for eight so everyone could engage - we shared our appetizers and meals and there was an abundance of great food.
We came to eat the soup dumplings but unfortunately they were not prepared the way to keep the soup, still delicious but not perfect. Overall service was super fast, food was hot and price is good.
Meal was ok - not exceptional. Shrimp toast was greasy. General Tso’s chicken was good but had better. A little disappointed in service. Waitress was very friendly, but obviously over worked and service was a little slow.
Excellent Chinese cuisine! We were on our way to a show and got quick service with excellent food in the perfect amount of time!
Excellent food and service!
Great little place with a better atmosphere then most of the places we walked past in china town.
Food tasted burnt. Waitress seemed put out that we asked for sauce for our pot stickers...We had heard good things, but were disappointed.
We went with a group of friends and had 10 people in our party. It was great to go with so many people - everyone ordered their own dish and we all shared. This was a great way to get a taste of everything and this is the best Chinese food experience we’ve had in a long time. The service was friendly and quick with more drinks when asked! I would highly recommend Moon Palace!
Service is slow and has been the last few times I've been in. Food is really good and the sizzling rice is a must try.
Excellent food as always!
Great food at reasonable prices. I went there for the soup dumplings, which were great (although I would have preferred a little more soup and less filling). I will definitely come back.
Great for special family events. Prompt and attentive service plus excellent food.
After trying a few "new" style Chinese restaurants in Chicago this was a real relief. Dim sum just like we liked it - good soup dumplings and a very generous serving of shrimp and scallops. Great prices in a typical Chinatown decor. Best Chinese we found in Chicago this trip.
Food is always great and atmosphere is relaxed. Service is good and staff is welcoming but not overbearing.
The Moon Place was an authentic Chinese Restaurant. It was reasonable and accommodated a large group.
The service was not friendly. Waitress was terrible. My veggie roll was horrible. Will not go here again.
