Dined at Moody's this past Sunday and we were invited to sit inside which was so nice since it was in the 30's outside. We were seated at least 6' from the nearest party. Fantastic service, clean restaurant with proper cleaning precautions, and yummy food. I'd return in a heartbeat!

I’m not generally one to write reviews on OT, but I felt like I needed to give Moody’s props for doing such a great job during Covid! The outdoor area that they’ve created is not only ample space for many tables more than 6ft apart, but also delightfully attractive! You don’t feel like you’re at a table thrown onto the sidewalk like most restaurants. The area is a well built platform on the street with plentiful heaters, beautiful lighting, translucent cover and side drapes that “shield” you from the street, but allow airflow. Moody’s clearly understands that Covid will be a part of our lives for longer than a few months and they made the investment in a space that makes it comfortable for their guests to feel safe. It was lovely!
On top of that, the food and drinks were excellent and beautifully presented! We are vegetarian and there were plenty of options without having to ask for a menu item to be altered. Our non-vegetarian friends were very happy with their options as well. The tomato soup en croute is a “must order”, the vegetable entree was delicious and flavorful and the roasted chicken was “one of the best I’ve ever had” according to my friend.
One more note as it relates to Covid restrictions, I did notice when I went inside to the restrooms that the interior dining room was more crowded than I would have expected. I am not sure exactly what “stage” the county is in now, but tables were closer together than I would have been comfortable with. To each his own though because they have the great outdoor space that is very well spread out. Great job Moody’s!

The service was very good and the food was reasonably good as well. I am giving this opinion for $45-dollar a plate setting. We were greeted nicely and everyone was very welcoming.

Another great meal at our favorite Truckee local. The lobster roll app was outstanding and the hanger steak is a family favorite.
You can’t go wrong here.

Our group of 4 dined at Moody's in October, during Covid. Seated in covered outdoor patio structure, tables were well spaced, felt totally safe, with heaters to keep us warm. Food was great, especially the appetizers. Good, friendly service.

Ate outside in the back which was nice. They had heaters so it wasn’t cold. We had the deviled eggs which were delicious!! For dinner I had the chicken breast, it was nothing special. My friend had the scallops which came 5 minutes after everyone else’s! My other friend loved the spaghetti. The waiter Craig was great, very friendly. For the prices, I probably won’t come back.

We’ve eaten dinner here several times this summer and the food has always been very good. Service on the back patio is consistently strong. However, I’m disappointed that I’ve requested outdoor seating on the stage each time and never have been seated there. We have also had to wait 15-30 minutes to be seated for our reservations, which is very frustrating for 8 pm reservations.

We were seated (for the second time in a month) in the street pavilion, which is quite pleasant. The noise from the street and railroad can be excused as Truckee ambience! The service was prompt and pleasant, with no excessive hovering. The food was excellent as usual; both old standards, such as New York steak, and California cosmo, such as the "bastardized lobstah roll" were quite tasty. The innovative cocktails are also good.

Food was prepared well, great service and entree choices. Never thought I’d rave about an appetizer of Deviled eggs, but they were the best we’ve had after trying several different places.
Our server, Sierra, was very friendly and attentive, and all the staff were concerned with following proper COVID protocols.
We’ve eaten here before when we visit the area and will definitely visit again.

We had a fabulous dinner and great ambience with the new outdoor set up. Very impressed. Heidi was our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and checked in with us along the way. Excellent!

Food was so so for the value. A little disappointing. Service was slow though we have been before and the service was great.

Brought two other couples after raving about it for years who came up to visit. It was embarrassing how bad the service was!! We had to flag down our water to get anything. Very disappointing for a $500 dinner

Another amazing meal at Moody’s. We sat in a quiet location. Their covid protocol and procedures are the best that I have experienced. Pork belly appetizer is served with watermelon cubes and it’s a perfect combination of delicious. For my entree I had the special Wagyu A7 ribeye. The best steak I’ve had in a very long time. Thanks to all the staff for making us feel safe and comfortable.

Food is great - unfortunately we ordered two desserts to go and only got one - and an empty box - which we didn’t realize until we got home

Top shelf drinks and awesome food, we love eating at Moody's for all our special nights out and lunchtime escapes from work!

Moody’s has adapted well to providing a great dining experience is a COVID 19 world. We had a table in the back. They were well spaced. The menu was more extensive than I expected given many restaurants have gone more “basic”. Our server was fantastic. The specials were very good. I had a wild game bolognese pasta. It was outstanding.

Food was excellent. All of us enjoyed our meals.
