Welcome to the Montrose Inn, a Boutique Bed & Breakfast and Tea Room in Quinte West, centrally located within minutes of Belleville, Trenton, and Prince Edward County.

On select afternoons, we provide a full three course Afternoon Tea. All sandwiches and baked goods are freshly prepared, using quality ingredients, at the Inn. We make every effort to meet your dietary needs including food allergies. Please list all food allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of reservation.

Montrose Inn is one of the best examples of ‘antebellum’ architecture in Ontario. It was built in 1916 by Robert J. Graham, a prominent businessman and former mayor of Belleville, and remained in the Graham family until the early 1980’s. The Inn, with its many original features, grand crown mouldings, solid oak panelling, grand staircase, fixtures and workings, has been updated with modern amenities and decor that celebrates the era while being fresh and inviting.

We would be happy to work with you to develop a special event that can include a custom menu for any occasion. Our dining room maximum capacity is 16 people in total, including children. Our covered verandah is open during the warmer months, with a maximum capacity of 28 people, including children. During these ever changing times, masks are required upon entry to the Inn, whether dining on the verandah or in the dining room; additionally social distancing is in effect within both dining areas. All guests are required to remain seated unless attending the restroom or paying their bill at the front desk. We are collecting contact information of all guests dining at the Inn in accordance with by-laws set out by the HPEC Health Unit.

Our visit was fantastic. We started off in the cozy sitting room and were served hot chocolate with homemade heart shaped marshmallows. Yummy!! Then we were taken to the elegant diningroom to a wonderful assortment of fancy finger sandwiches and homemade scones. Our favourite selection was the scones with devonshire cream and homemade strawberry preserves. Our hostess was extremely attentive. Our afternoon was relaxing and we were given lots of time to enjoy our experience. Can't wait to return; as the front verandah looks very inviting. Thank you for a lovely Sunday Afternoon Tea.

Those who appreciate Afternoon Tea on beautiful fine bone china in a lovely, historical setting will love the Montrose. Suzette is a warm and welcoming host and the food is a delicious mix of creativity and tradition!

The atmosphere was amazing and very inviting. The food was so delicious and just the right size portions. The top factor that keeps me coming back is the service which is outstanding. Always a treat to go to and leaves you waiting for your next trip to the Montrose Inn

My sister was visiting from Calgary and wanted to have a special day with her. The Montrose Inn is absolutely spectacular. The experience+ from the minute you walk in the door, greeted, beverage and cookie in the sitting room (gorgeous), seated in the dining room, food fantastic and best of all was our server/owner who is the most friendliest person you could ever meet. Will certainly be back with my friends at Christmas.

We had family visiting who had been to Afternoon Tea in London, England, and Victoria, BC, before, and this provided us a nice opportunity to have good conversation while being treated with good service and tasty foods. They rated the Montrose Afternoon Tea highly, and we would certainly recommend it to friends.
