I thought the Portion of soup in a bowl was low. I have eaten a number of times at RESTURANT and I remember when a bowl was a bowl. Appears they have changed service dish.
Overall very posotive
Montlake Cut is a restaurant you can count on day in and day out. The positives are:
Urban, energetic area, lots of shopping around it, large but cozy bar, really fresh seafood and salads, well trained and professional staff, nautical interior design, white tablecloths which you rarely see anymore. Open for lunch and dinner.
Negatives: parking can be an issue even with the garage nearby in Preston center. In summertime their AC system struggles to keep the place cool enough, restrooms only have one stall each.
Seafood cooked to perfection. Disappointed that Crab Artichoke dip has been removed from menu. We have had it there several times previously and loved it.
I got jipped on my fish n chips
It's seems more like a neighborhood bar, but instead of the same old bar food it has great seafood and steak. It's great to have a place like this in our immediate area
All day menu, overpriced at lunch, bargain for dinner, but a great restaurant. I just close my eyes and sign the check!
Food was good. Service was good but it was so loud that you had to yell at the person next to you.
Branzino was great. Desert was also very good. I would recommend.
It was great! Food and service were excellent. Only issue was we did not realize we were going to be seated at the chef’s counter, but it ended up being fine.
Always great service. Very professional
The food was fabulous the value was good but we always are receptive to lower prices, ambiance was good the service was extremely rushed which really turned my reservation sour. This was not a busy Saturday night with a packed bar of people waiting for a table. At least we would understand it thou not condone it. this was mid week with empty tables throughout the evening and the bar with many empty seats. We got a miserably small table for a party of two. It was a friend/colleague hadn't seen in 3 yrs and had hopes for a leisurely dinner with conversation you know a fine dining experience. Yes we know it is a seafood restaurant but the above was achievable but idwasnt. At one point we had to balance plates because the salads and apps came out together. We let our waitress know the plates were coming fast. We were slow in ordering because of conversation but she kept coming back to CHECK on us. Not the experience we were use to an Montlake and we did get a great experience on a busy Saturday night which was easy to at least easy to understand and accept,
Client dinner in Dallas. Happy to see an excellent fish dinner can be had in the land of meat.
great Halibut, good sides, nice drinks. Pleasant to be able to hear my own table conversation, even though all tables filled. Bartender and wait staff very good.
I will be back when next in town.
It was perfect. Food and service was impeccable and we will be back!
great experience, per usual. we were seated on time, and the food, wine and service were wonderful. one of my go to spots in Dallas!
Really good food!
Lovely all around! We will be back!
The food and service was excellent. The noise volume was very high and we loved it. It was like a great steakhouse. here is our observation people were out and they were talking. No one had their nose in their phone. Refreshing to see.
Food not as perfect as usual! Had to wait 30 minutes despite reservation.
best seafood in town it is a small place and somewhat noisy but is worth the go
*Best seafood in Dallas! Period...
Ran into a local celebrity, def telling friends about our new seafood place!
Ordered the scallops. The "charred tomato brown butter" was just plain weird. Side veggies were so so. My husband's fish & chips had soggy fries. Overall, not bad but not great, and not much value.
Enjoyed the oysters, a salad and the cauliflower side dish. Tried the cucumber lemonade and found it so tart we sent it back and stayed with water. Service was very good and the staff was extremely attentive to gluten free concerns.
Loved the environment - service to notch - food was perfect.
The food is consistently good and the service is always warm and personal. We have always enjoyed our experiences at this restaurant. Dallas is not the easiest city to find great seafood and at Montlake Cut, they always deliver great food and a reasonable wine list.
Everything was great, Food, and service ,we celebrated a friends Birthday.
A bit disappointed they did not comp a little desert for the birthday girl. Most nice restaurants do and since the bill for 3 people at lunch was over $200.00 it would have been a nice jester..
This was our first time to dine @ Montlake Cut. They came highly recommended. I told waiter I do not eat tomatoes. I noticed scallops stated they were seared tomatoes. Waiter assured me tomatoes were not on dish, just cooked on grill together. When meal arrived, scallops were soaked in tomatoes and laying on a bed of cooked tomatoes. I had to move my scallops to a dry plate and try to enjoy my meal. This was a business dinner. Three of us at the table. Four glasses of wine and business dinner. After the meal, the waiter kept pushing for us to pay and leave. I felt uncomfortable with his lack of ethics. He didn’t refill my tea because he wanted us to leave. This is a fabulous restaurant and high end pricing. We should feel comfortable enjoying a meal and relaxing in conversation.
Scallops were very disappointing! Hope this helps you train your staff!
Always a great choice and service was outstanding
It was great as always! My favorite place for fish.
muzak is not necessary in such a small venue otherwise this is a great find will be back
Came back to MC even though our food--for the first time ever, was not good last time. Milanese was dry and crab not fresh. this time it did not disappoint. We went at 630 on Friday and be the time we left we could not hear each other but the food and service were good.
Temperature was extremely hot. Server was a little overbearing and hurried our meal.
The whole branzino is delicious
Great meal and great service. Awesome meal
Perfect anniversary experience
All the dishes we ordered were excellent including the desserts.
The only problem was that it was very warm inside and the music was super loud. The acoustics is not very good and it was very hard to have a conversation there.
It was so hot in the restaurant.
The food was delicious! The waiter was accommodating and attentive. Our reservation was early 5:30pm and reservations are highly recommend due to small intimate setting. Around 6:30 the place filled up with a small amount of guest waiting which made it very warm inside. We asked if they could adjust the thermostat. Other than that the evenings was perfect!
