Monti's Rotisserie & Bar Ratings and Reviews
On a nice evening, dining outdoors at Monti's is a delight. Margaritas were the perfect way to start our meal. Although we wanted to try several of the offerings we decided to share a mushroom pizza and endive and radicchio salad - both great choices. All of the ingredients are fresh and everything is nicely prepared. There is a tempting dessert menu, but instead we ended our meal with cappuccinos. Service is very good. Perfect dining experience.
I had prime rib special. Delivered to table cold, well over 50 % of "meat" was fat. Blue cheese sauce on top hid the fat. If you order, ask for blue cheese sauce on the side so you can see the meat...or in this case, the fat! I should have sent it back. I've eaten here many times, but this meal was not up to their standards...or mine!
Not the obvious choice when you are European. Dining in a shopping strip.. But what a surprise.
lovely and lively waitresses, and loved the Rotisserie du Jour ( It was Veal ) . One of the best piece of meat for a long long time. The prawns on the skillet were also finger licking good !
Pinot Noir ( Oregon ) by the glass was good , cab Franc was boring and bland.
Great place to get together with friends. We sat outside and it was quiet and easy to carry on a conversation. Service was very good and so was the food. I enjoyed a quinoa, chicken and kale salad while others tried salmon and another tried pork shoulder. We were all very happy with our selections and I will definately return!
We generally like Stark restaurants, especially when Mark Stark is the chef, but Monti's was a disappointment. Loved the Parmesan dressing on crisp romaine but that was it. Daily special veal chop was awful: tasteless, flabby-textured meat. Big but blah. We love veal chops but this was the worst we've ever had. Potato gratin was what we call "Cheesecake Factory style": overrich, over-cheesed, overdone. A good gratin is a thing of beauty but this was just Excess Dairy Fat, a heart attack waiting to happen. We're hearty eaters and devoted carnivores (we knock off 16-oz prime rib at least once a month and I use cheese lavishly in everyday cooking) but Monti's needs half size of portions and twice the quality. Big servings of below-average food is no real bargain.
We dined on a Sunday evening. Restaurant was lively and fairly full for 6PM on a Sunday. I had the Sunday special that was a large medium rare prime rib with blue cheese, horseradish, latkes and greens. My partner had filet of sole. We started with a warm spinach salad with bacon and baby shrimp and ended with a crème bruele. It was all very tasty. They have a happy hour that runs until 6pm or so that has special wines by the glass and small plate selections. Nice restaurant in Montgomery Village.
Very nice time at Monti's this month meeting old friends for dinner. Famous for the daily changes of an entree special, Monti's also has some reliable menu choices that are consistently good, for example; the Monti Cucumber Martini....not really a martini, but reliably delicious. Also the warm spinach salad that we all enjoyed as a starter. New to me were the Moroccan chicken meatballs, also excellent. After a pleasant round of starters we enjoyed the Lamb pasta, the dorade, the bavette and the arctic char. Good reviews all round. We finished up with butterscotch pudding. Very good, but not yet caught up the Town Hall's version. I'll keep checking, though.
I've wanted to try Monti's for a while because people have told me it was great for a long time. I thought the food was pretty good. Fish seemed to be a real strength. HOWEVER I just couldn't get past the location in a strip mall. It just doesn't feel like a location I would want to go for a nice restaurant. I'd probably go back but would most likely try another place first. I'm not a die hard fan.
Restaurant is located in Montgomery shopping center. I have been for lunch and dinner. On both occasions the service was inattentive and sloppy. This extends to requests as simple as water, lemon slices and another glass of wine please. The kicker has been having to walk the bill up to the hostess desk or we would still be sitting there. The bar area is probably the best seating area and if you go for a drink and a small plate it's probably ok. Food is overally salted for my taste. We won't be returning.
They have delicious dishes across the spectrum. The spinach salad with rock shrimp, goat cheese, bacon, dates etc is a favorite. They also do a fabulous butterscotch pudding. Monti's has a gluten free menu with an excellent selection and is helpful with modifications. Great place for lunch or dinner.

We were seated promptly for our 1 pm reservation (many people waiting ahead of us) and presented with the "Restaurant Week prix fixe menu"--however, the price was $29 pp instead of either $10 or $15, so it was actually much higher than anticipated for lunch--that said, the food was very good and plentiful (actually too much food)! I had tomato bisque & lamb parpadelle, and my husband had the (very large) mixed green salad and roast chicken dinner plate which were 2 of the 3 entrees offered for the prix fixe meals. Dessert was included, also. In the future, Monti's should be advised to either offer an appropriate lunch menu for the Rest Week prix fixe at the $10-$15 range, or only offer dinner options at the $19-$29-$39 range. Thank you.
Monti's is just a great, dependable place for brunch, lunch or dinner in Santa Rosa, tucked away in Montgomery Village shopping area. Pleasant room, very good service, very good wines by the glass. Small and large plates are all very good, in my experience. I had the Sole Almondine this time, for the first time in awhile. Wonderful! As good as any I've had including in Paris. We split a (very generous) appetizer of mussels which were outstanding as well. Highly recommended - we've never been disappointed.
First poor experience we've had here. A party of seven for my adult daughter's birthday.
We ordered a shrimp salad with dates - no bacon. They arrived with bacon, 3 baby shrimp, and no dates! Sent it back, and brought a new order. Much better. Other dishes were fine. Desserts outstanding! Waiter was excellent, young man with moustache & sideburns.
