Only downfall was that our waiter confused our order and gave us two house salad. We told the server that the salads wasn't ours, he goes to the kitchen and comes back and says it's ours. We ate the salad and our waiter says he confused our order "his mistake". We ended up paying for the salad we didn't order. Overall the food was great.
We took our son and his gf here for their first time. Our table was ready, and we had called the restaurant to reserve 2 of their pork Osso Bucco dinners. There’s is delish and they sell out quickly! Our server Peter (who we ask for) is always attentive and very friendly but not to the point of becoming annoying haha! All our dinners were served hot, appetizers were not rushed and the overall experience is always spot on! The restaurant itself is quite cozy but my only complaint is that it does get a little loud - but everyone is having fun so why complain?
I don’t here with friends the other night. Reservations are recommended. Unfortunately, we got stuck between a table of 14 and a table of 10. Table of 14 was fine but the table 10 was very noisy. It was fine once they left! But people have said that the restaurant is noisy and they are correct. Our server was ok. Very nice but we did have to ask him to come to the table once or twice. Food was exceptional. I had the stuffed chicken which was delicious. It was served with seasonal vegetables and the truffle salted fries. I also got a side order of the mushroom risotto which was outstanding. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. I can’t recommend the desserts though. The Nutella crepes were hard and a little burned. The bread pudding was flavorful but not as moist as I would’ve enjoyed. I thought it was a little pricey as we just had water with our meals nor did we have any appetizers. We
shared two desserts and had coffee and it came to $50 a person which I thought was a lot But I’m cheap! :)
I can recommend the food however-delicious!
Have been to Monticello's many times before. The food is always good and so is the service. However, the service left a lot to be desired this time. We waited at least an hour after getting our appys and salad. Many times I saw or waiter talking and just hanging around while we too waited. We had to ask for refills of water, and when we asked for more bread, it never came. Other customers who came in after us, were served before us. This is not a good way to run a restaurant. I'm hoping it was an off night for them. Will not be retuning as quickly as times before.
16 oz pork chop for $30.00 , came out like a 8 oz. extremely disappointed. Waiter was very nice and agreed, got the head waiter Pete, who asked me what should we do..he took off 5 bucks and said that’s the best he can do, very insulting. Finally i agreed to pay half since i ate it, because i was starving and waited almost an hour for food.. my steamed vegetables that came with the dinner where 2 small Cauliflower and one small piece of broccoli ..severely over rated and not worth the money
As usual, the food was quite good. Two of us had the veal raviolis. My wife had the cod special, which she liked. Deserts were good too. The apps were OK. Lastly, our male server was the worst we've had here. You couldn't get his attention, even though the restaurant isn't that big, and if you asked for something, it took far too long to get it, plus having to ask again. His answer: 2 free coffees. We enjoy Monticello and just wish this server paid more attention.
16 Oz veal chop was more like 8oz (cost $45). We had 2 appetizers (1 salad / 1 clams) and 2 entrees. Despite having a $50 off credit from a prior bad experience, the bill was still $65 (BYOB) and it took 2.5 hours. Very disappointing. Not kid friendly. Just thankful that my 4 yr old is very patient.

Love to find new places with great food that allow us to bring our own wine and Monticello was the perfect spot. The menu is ample, but not large which suggests they have great control of the product that comes out of the kitchen and this was absolutely the case. Pear salad, pasta dish, stuffed chicken all wonderful and we're looking forward to trying the dishes we didn't select next visit
BIg thumbs up !
Food was great. We took my relatives from Ohio there for dinner. The service wasn't very good. Waiter acted like he really did not want to be at work. We never had him before. I don't even know what his name was. We will go back. But will request female waitress. My family just thinks it's New Jersey rudeness! Lol. Which, is true to a degree
My daughter & I started a tradition of going to dinner together and a Christmas show every year.
We have dined here before and enjoyed it very much, but this week we were very disappointed.
We started with the Burrata Caprese , which was very good - but there was only 1 slice of Burrata. We then ordered dinner. I asked for the Pork Ossobuco, and was told that it wasn't served during the week. This is not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know before we ordered. I changed my order to the Stuffed Chicken and asked if I could have the mushroom risotto instead of the truffle fries. I was informed that there would be an upcharge (I'm not sure why, because both are on the side dish menu). The waiter came by again to tell me that it would be an extra 20 minutes to get my meal so they could make the risotto fresh. OK - we had a little extra time. My dinner arrived with no side dish, but I figured it was coming out shortly. It never did. As we were now both finished and we had to leave for the show at the Count Basie, I asked for the check and told the waiter that I never received the risotto. His response "what do you want me to do?" I did not want to be confrontational and ruin our night, so I just asked him to remove the charge. He removed the upcharge.
Dinner for 4 on Saturday night was very good. Appetizers were good although the cheese platter for $19 was a bit much. Main course drew rave reviews from all - Veal Parm, Pork Chop, Sea food dish, and pasta with sea food were delicious. Owner/head chef came out and shared a home made liquor for after dinner. It is a BYOB. Just a tiny bit pricy but probably worth it.
