Monte's Trattoria is an Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Greenwich Village on MacDougal Street between West 3rd and Bleecker. This vintage Italian restaurant has existed since 1918 and the Mosconi family has continued its rich tradition. Chef Pietro Mosconi delivers authentic Northern Italian dishes from his region of Emilia-Romagna and is often seen in the dining room conversing with patrons.
You'll find a friendly cozy atmosphere. The waiters and bartenders, whom you'll know by name, are always affable and ready to please. Dine as a couple for a romantic dinner, a small private party or as a large group while you take in the sites, sounds and tastes of Greenwich Village.                                                                                               Food was terrible for all, but worse for me. I asked for meal to be prepared gluten free. When it arrived I saw the flour on it and the chef promised me it wasn’t. Fast forward to me awake all night with ripping pain in my abdomen. It has not subsided this morning. I am more angry at myself for not trusting myself.

We had truffle pasta, braised short ribs, and ravioli. I highly recommend this family-owned style restaurant.

A tad crowded and the ambiance could be a little cozier -- I think it's the lighting. But overall, this was a good experience at a classic Greenwich Village restaurant.

                                                                                              We loved our dining experience at Monte’s!!! The place was lively and cozy. The food was delicious. Our waiter, Tony, was so perfect and fun and good. The other people dining there were fun and nice. The girl who seated us was also exceptionally wonderful. We had a great experience. We will be back!!!
