I can’t explain how amazing this restaurant is. My fiancé and I got to celebrate our anniversary here. Not only is every dish phenomenal, but the drink selection is out of this world. They have the best staff in town & are the reason we come back for a sweet date night. I can not wait to go back. If you’re looking for a specific dish to try, go for the Wagyu Steaks. You will not be disappointed! I’m a big fan of pairing it with a glass or two of the Ministry of the Vinterior Cabernet Sauvignon. Cheers to a wonderful restaurant, I hope they keep it up!

We return each year for my wife’s and daughters birthday. The taste of everything was perfect! Our service was top notch and will return next year. My only concern was the portion size of the tuna. While I would order it again, I would request the tuna be prepared differently. Monterey Bay is the best seafood anywhere! Thank again!

I don’t know where to begin! Everything was beyond perfect. Our server was Sydney and she was the absolute best!! We ordered the steak with lobster along with some sides. Food was delicious, view was breathtaking!!! Music was low and lights were dim which only added to the romantic atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

As a business professional, and a purveyor of fine dining establishments, not only was the food and drink on point, but MaryAnn was over the top with professionalism and graciousness. Bravo!

Chilean Sea Bass was tasty, portion was a bit small, also tried the Swordfish, Parmesan crusted. Portion was more generous. Also, tasty! Caesar Salad was good, a little heavy on the dressing. Forgot to order the anchovies☹️ Was not asked, but menu states must be requested. Asparagus was good, nice portion for 2-3. Carrots were different, three different types of very large carrots some charred. This side dish needs some explanation on the menu, very different, good...just different.

Oysters and crab cakes were great , but the angle food cake thing was very disappointing no flavor or taste to me or my girlfriend. Drinks were made perfect !!! Very nice but kinda dark inside hard to see . We have been looking for a new place to have date night , since eddie v’s went down hill from a year ago .

I really cant pick what i loved the most...the soup or the crab cakes! But my favorite for sure was the angel food grilled cheese-to die for! And our waiter was fantastic-friendly and attentive and personable! Great experience!

This place was amazing! One of the best Filets I’ve ever had, the seafood was so fresh and on point as well! They even offered my girlfriend a free desert for her birthday! Can’t say enough how great everything was! Definitely coming back!

The staff from the valet to the managers greeting my date and I when we came off the elevator was perfect. The coat check was very polite. The table that was given to us was picture perfect and very intimate. The waitress and the Sommelier were on point and very educational on the offerings we asked about. The food was perfect and paired really well with the Sommeliers choice of wine. The Dessert ( voted best in PGH) was so good it will warrant coming back just to eat that....maybe first.

The renovation was worth it! We had some food allergies and the chef and manager came to discuss options with us. The crab cakes are still hands down the best I have ever had! We had a window table with a fabulous view .

This was my first time at Monterey Bay. My boyfriend and I went to celebrate our 2.5 year anniversary and we could not have been happier with our choice. The service was amazing, definitely the best view of the city I have seen, and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend and will be going back!

Everyone in my party enjoyed their entrees; I, however, was disappointed in the lobster Romano. The oysters were wonderful as was the angel food dessert.

We love this place. Swordfish is a staple on its menu, and it’s what I ordered on our most recent visit. I was a little disappointed that it was cut thin, probably a half inch. That doesn’t seem like a portion worthy of an authentic seafood restaurant, but, to me, MBFG gets a pandemic pass for this preparation. Everything else was flawless—wonderful service, fresh veggies, top-notch deserts, and a world class view of a world class skyline!!

The ambiance was fantastic, with beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh. Our meal was good, with the cocktail menu and dessert offerings being the highlight. Service was top notch and attentive. Would recommend for future special occasions.

We've been coming to Monterey Bay for 22 years. This visit was a new, paired down menu with none of the previous preparation options (with the exception of the trio appetizer and crab cakes). While our meals were good, they were not the level as they had been with the old menu. Perhaps due to Covid? Hopefully the old menu returns. Our service was excellent and the view amazing as always.

The crab cakes are the best I have had in Pittsburgh since Jake's of the Square closed. My husband--not a fish eater--had the swordfish and really, really liked it too. Finally, the noise level was a little loud because of a large table of very boisterous men--not your fault.
