With its casual setting the Montecito Wine Bistro offers a relaxed, yet elegant atmosphere. A neighborhood favorite the restaurant features 2 cozy fireplaces as well as outdoor patio seating. Friendly attentive service. Serving California Bistro cuisine the seasonal menu offers dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients. The menu is split between appetizers, salads and entrees, including vegetarian dishes and fresh fish.Wood-burning oven. Share one of the flatbreads Sausage Piperade or Rosted Potato & Marinated Anchovy. Entree high-lights include Grilled Duck Breast & Confit Duck, Seared Scallops w Lobster Sauce and Dry Aged New York Steak Frites. Desserts are a must - Salted Caramel Bittersweet Tart. Reliably outstanding. Thanks for holding our special table past reservation time ( Ash Wednesday services went later than expected) staff, food and ambience always an anticipated treat.

Pasta is a good choice, salads fresh and service friendly. Table in front of the kitchen is lively but makes conversation for party of 4 very difficult.

It felt great to be out supporting a Montecito business and I really hoped we had chosen well as our friends were visiting from Florida and had never eaten in Montecito. The service was very good, and overall it was comfortable. My husband and I (not sure about our friends), unfortunately, weren't all that impressed with our meals. I had the Saturday special and kept hoping for something good to happen as it included Kobe beef and bacon. For me, the gravy didn't seem to match up and the potatoes tasted like they might have been made from a box. The Rose of Pinot Noir, on the other hand, was very good!

This was the night of the Thomas Fire mudslides.
Our reservation had been accepted but the whole place was shut up tighter than a drum.
Why I am being awarded points on a night that the Restaurant did serve is puzzling to say the least.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with all of the typical menu items available, as well as a vegetarian one! Kids menu was a nice option, too! Great portions, delicious food, and and a fabulous wine list. Perfect place for a special meal.

We went there for Thanksgiving my sides were lukewarm and my salmon dish was a reheated dry piece of what they called Wellington but was not , more like a en croute thing for $60. As a former Chef I consider that unacceptable but I was with my aunt and I didn't want to complain. As for the service she was nice but not that good, we had to ask for bread and when we did get it we didn't get the olive oil everyone else got. The menu is also worded awkwardly so the dishes are a little hard to understand.

A special birthday celebration with four women of a certain age- a special table on “the island” - quiet, intimate and able to have an adult conversation. We all had the tostadas, 1 chicken, 2 shrimp and 1 vegetable and they were delicious, sophisticated and very fresh. A bottle of prosecco added to the festivities. Having primed the restaurant that we were celebrating a birthday, they brought a beautiful single serving coconut cake with a candle. It could not have been more perfect. This is a lovely neighborhood restaurant that seems to care. We will go back again and again.

We loved it! Food was great--filet mignon was delish! Nice portions-not gigantic, just right. My husband loved the mushroom risotto from my dish and he enjoyed the salmon BLT. I have dietary requests and they were very accommodating, The one thing which needs improvement was the service--our salads and starters came out sporadically as did the entrees. Everything, each course, should come out with 2 servers if need be so everyone is served at the same time. also just a little note if the Bistro is reading this...don't take away plates before everyone is finished. It hurries the other guests. Not good even if the restaurants want to turn tables! It wasn't super busy. Not polite or good manners. Overall we really enjoyed it and will return! New menu for us, really GREAT!

We had just arrived at the beach house we were renting, and didn't feel like going too far to eat, so the location in Montecito was great. We had a lovely meal, with great food, helpful and knowledgable service. It also has a nice selection of wine, including local wines. Overall a nice experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to go back any time.

Service was not good. Forgot to bring things and response times were slow. Had to send my chicken piccata back because the chicken was not cooked through. Food in general was bland & not flavorful. Prices not cheap but it is Montecito which explains that. Was our 1st time dining there & will not rush to go back.

We had a table of 8 and we're so happy to have a round table for easy conversation. All we're happy with the food and service. Some had salmon, some veal piccata, etc. All was delicious. Deserts too! Service was attentive but not hovering. We have been several times and look forward to going again.

Our food was fair. We shared a pizza which was dry and overdone. The salad was sparse. It was very loud and difficult to carry on conversations. We were disappointed after it had been highly recommended. It is not worth it to us with all the other good dining places in Santa Barbara. No atmosphere, just noise.

We had a fantastic meal. They were so kind to upgrade our wine selection since what we wanted was not available. The salmon on the salmon bowl was very small, abit noisey by the kitchen... all in all lovely, we'll be back!

This meal capped our Santa Barbara vacation, and it was wonderful. The setting was idyllic and very cozy. The service was prompt, professional, and friendly. Prices were moderately expensive but food quality and quantity warranted them. Our soup starters of crunchy gazpacho and Manhattan clam chowder were so good! My wife's chicken cacciatore was delicious, and my Kobe meat loaf was unique and delicious. Local wines were many. They recognized my wife's birthday, which I noted in my Open Table reservation, with a nice dessert. That made it perfect!!

We had a nice saturday light lunch. The salads are very tasty. Very good local wine list. The service were very nice, attentive, fast. At the end the apple strudel was delicious.

The Bistro's food is always solids and tasty. Service is good and the ambiance is conducive to conversation. Not Exactly a gem, but utterly reliable.
