Montecito Wine Bistro
Perfect service, indoor/outdoor dining with a varied menu. Happy hour had a nice selection of tasty wine and small plates. Western bowl with filet was extremely tasty. Mahi was served with fresh garden veggies. Low key vibe.
We like this place for the menu and the fact that they have fireplaces and patio seating. However, the manager, Don, never reads the table requests and therefore we almost always find the table we have requested far in advance has been given away. Amazingly, even when the place is nearly empty, he will have managed to give our requested table to someone else! And when told that this is upsetting to us, he never says he is sorry...only that he has many nice tables! He needs a lesson in how to treat customers...especially regulars!
a great, unexpected experience that will be one of the highlights of our two week trip to Montecito. booked on a whim, this delightful , unassuming spot delivers so far above expectations that I was almost blinded by the sheer love of the experience. as a sophisticated dinner ( NYC,LA< SF ), our experience is gong too be a "top ten". of note were the fish dishes, especially the traditional French dish of parchment preparation — you could almost taste the herbs and spices of Provencal.
Le poisson été pas bien
We ate here for the first time last weekend. Food was fair. I ordered the chicken cacciatore and it was just OK. Our friends both ordered the fish en papillote and they did not care for it -- it was smothered in so many tomatoes that the fish was hard to find. The service and ambiance were great but the food did not match it. My husband ordered one of their "bowls" - the one with filet mignon and he thought it was good.
Usually it's quiet on the creek-side patio but this time there was a larger table of lively but loud women very close to us. Made it difficult for us elders who are somewhat hard of hearing. But on other visits it's been just great out there as well. Everything else very good indeed!
This is an easy place to meet for a casual dinner with friends. The food is good even though not outstanding. The outdoor patio in back is nice enough. It's a favorite of locals for its bar, patio and varied menu that accommodates both kids and adults.
One of my favorite restaurants in Montecito. The food is always delicious, staff attentive, service excellent. The garden and patio are beautifully peaceful rooms to dine in and on a chilly evening the roaring fires warming.
Kitchen needs help---grilled squash came out raw---no excuse for that !
Spinach glad with grilled chicken needs to be improved--big hunks of rubbery chicken .
Wait staff was efficient and pleasant, room attractive but noise level at lunch deafening !!
Five of us enjoyed an amazing dinner at Montecito Wine Bistro last weekend. Very casual w nice menu and good wine list. The specials that night (meatloaf and seafood pasta) were yummy. Our server, Martin, was excellent. We will be back to Montecito Wine Bistro!
We had a very nice dinner but were given the wrong bill.....
we paid it anyway. I felt they were rushing us out of there as they wanted
to close by 9.00.
Nice locals place. Menu has plenty of choices and can eat outside both on a back patio and in the sun outside the front.
I so wanted to like the Wine Bistro. I appreciate that I asked for a table near the fire place and they accommodated that. The wine was decent, but the food was so Bland. The beef carpaccio was sliced so thickly you can barely cut it with a knife. The chicken on our salad was so dried out it was like chewing a hockey puck. The squash in burrata salad had absolutely no flavor. If I do ever return, I will definitely order different items off the menu
We liked our table by the fireplace, the service was good and so was our meal. Definitely worthy of four of five stars and we will return.
Make sure that you order the onion soup. It is the best item on the menu in my opinion. My dining partner and I both thought that the original menu(s) that they offered when they first opened were more varied, better executed and more interesting.
The salmon was perfect for me with tasty sides
Great food and service! We ate on the patio next to the fireplace
Our server failed to advise our guest that it would cost an extra $2.00 for ice on his scotch on the rocks cocktail and the salmon was dried out
Great little place to eat. Awesome food. Excellent service. A bit pricey, but it's cool for the area.
We felt food was overpriced but the biggest disappointment was the server. He was surly at best if not to say rude. We had out of town guests who commented on this after dinner.
We had a great meal and some awesome wine. We had a table of 6 and were able to converse with no problem. Very appreciative of an appropriate noise level. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend.
Great restaurant for modern American and European cuisine, paired with a sensible local wine menu. Their healthy options are sure to please even the most conscious eaters.
Excellent service great menu quiet always enjoy going there
Very nice place and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Has nice outside seating.
We usually enjoy this restaurant. We have experienced poor service and food cooked too well done, but ordinarily we are happy here. Happy enough to return, even after a bad experience. Our last time here was excellent
Wonderful dinner experience. everyone in our party of five was VERY happy with their meal. The bread is amazing and we hope to be back very soon! I had the ahi bowl, as I am trying to eat more healthy foods, and it was great!
It was our first time here and truly a lovely experience. Everyone was attentive and courteous and we were seated at a delightfully romantic table by the fireplace on the patio.
The vegetarian french onion soup was divine! I would order it every time! Sweet potato fries were terrific as well.
Needs some menu changes. Same menu for way too long.
Chicken dish was so spicy I was unable to eat it! I checked with waiter when ordering, he said not spicy!!! When I told him it was too spicy he brought over a bowl of tomato sauce to pour
over it to cover the spiciness...never offered to replace with something-else! I have ordered this dish several tines before & always enjoyed it...clearly the chef had added chili flakes or oil to preparation this time! Also we ordered two glasses of wine
early bird price, when my husband ordered a second glass, at 6:05pm, he was charged REGULAR price! This was INSULTING!
We have dined here many many times in the past, always enjoying it...this waiter was sourly & definitely not enjoying working that evening! I am afraid it will be a long time before we return, if ever...which is a shame as we always enjoyed MWB
before....many times bringing guests!
Really enjoy the food and service. quiet on Mondays. good time to visit
Always a favorite - wonderful staff, reliable quality and nice ambiance. Thanks for honoring our special seating request.
We arrived and a smiling woman opened the door for us and welcomed us in. We checked in, and the woman said to my daughter "Happy Birthday!" with a smile. We had our choice of patio seating and chose wisely. Menus, water, and homemade warm bread were delivered. We asked questions, ordered, and settled into our conversation. Each plate was delivered with a smile in a way that did not stop our own conversation. The food was delicious, my salmon perfect, my husband's burger rare and juicy, my daughter's shrimp kale salad gorgeous. The wine was excellent, and we did not feel rushed, nor did we feel forgotten. A memorable night out as a family.
Everything was average. We expected more in Montecito.
Very disappointing. The pizza was greasy, the chicken did not taste right.
Very much enjoyed our Sunday lunch -- the salmon and tuna bowls were both exceptional, and ample. The bread was so good we took home a loaf. And the service was exceptional, genuinely friendly without being obtrusive. We picked this spot (our first visit) because of location, but next time will drive extra miles to eat here.
Enjoy the excellent service and happy hour caesar salad was not very good. Fun to meet friends there. Soup was excellent great bread .Joni Egbert
The service was excellent, the food was average. They serve a Cioppino that has pasta. That is not Cioppino. Just call it seafood pasta. The Bologonese was pretty blah. The salmon bowl was great!
We stopped by for an early dinner on our way to a stay in Solvang and were impressed by the ambiance, the service and the food. The hamburger and trimmings, and the butternut squash and goat cheese pizzas were delicious. They offer a great wine selection, many from the Santa Barbara area. We recommend this lovely spot.
Had a very good meal and attentive service there. The portions were adequate. I had the duck which was very nicely prepared. There is also nice outdoor dining areas although we ate inside. The prices (including the prices for the wines) are quite reasonable. I recommend this place for casual dining.
