We had a great time at Montauk. The food was spectacular. We ordered the cobia, lobster tail, tuna and prawns. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and we would recommend to anyone visiting vail.

Montauk Seafood Restaurant provided an excellent dining experience for us. The food, we both chose the cobra for its splendid preparation -it was beautifully presented and wonderful tasting. Our seating preference was nicely accommodated, although this meant we were on a rather isolated side of the restaurant and had various servers. The food and wine were simply delicious. Definitely recommend.

Really like Montauk. Great service by Chelsea. Food was delicious. Crab cakes and calamari to start. I ordered the red snapper and it was great in presentation and flavor. Hostess was nice when we asked to change the table. Great experience overall.

Mussels and calamari were excellent. N.Y. Strip was not well marbeled and even our medium rare steak was chewy and flavorless. Caesar was nothing special. Salmon entry was very good. Service excellent as well as all staff.
I would stick with seafood! Worth a visit.

My wife and I have had dinner at Montauk Seafood Grill in Vail several times. This time with business associates, it was very disappointing. Slow, mediocre, and loud.

The waiter was absolutely rude and abrupt. He rushed through the Order. Would routinely walk away before we could ask for additional service. He poured water sloppily and wet the chair of our female guest. I was about to ask for a different waiter. He seemed preoccupied rushed and angry throughout the entire meal. It was a large check for a party of 4 and I refused to tip him more then $25. The Maitre D was very pleasant and knew one of our guests and comped us our deserts but that did not minimize the discomfort of having such horrible service.

We wanted to eat before the dinner rush, so we went at 5:00pm. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive to our needs. The special crab pasta dish she recommended was phenomenal as was the red snapper. If you like lobster, you have to try the lobster sliders! They were unbelievable!

After eating at some of Vail's fancy / buzzy restaurants, my girlfriend and I had dinner at Montauk for a change of pace and really enjoyed it. Food was wonderful, authentic, and appropriately priced. Service was attentive and fun.

Food was outstanding. We had the snapper and the ahi tuna. Both were some of the best we have had. The charred octopus salad to start was good, but not superb--a really nice combination of flavors.

Great family dinner at Montauk. Appetizers were fantastic. Ceviche and Montaco's were my favorite. The handmade cocktails were great. Erin made an off the menu martini that I'll definitely go back for! The Miso Red Snapper was incredible!! I absolutely recommend this entree to everyone. Great atmosphere and we really love the updates the new owner made. 5 stars from me.

Opened under new owners! Food is excellent, excellent service. Menu has many delicious choices - will have to return to experience them all. Fabulous creative children’s menu. Good luck to new owner - they deserve it for creating a new exciting restaurant in the Vail Valley.

The NEW management has turned this failing restaurant around. The food is exceptional and the service is excellent. Reservations will be difficult to get once the ski season starts. Just like the original Montauk, mussels are a must.

Not a good experience. We were celebrating our 15 year anniversary. When we walked in I told them I had a reservation and the host seemed surprised and responded with, "I'm not answering the phone since tonight is our last night open". I almost left at that point concerned that the food wouldn't be fresh and the service would be poor. Our server was good but the meals were terrible and the host did not make us feel welcome. I get that it was the last night before shutting down for "remodeling" and if we went during the season our experience may have been different but based on our experience that specific night we wouldn't go here again nor would we recommend this restaurant to those we know personally. We ended up leaving after dinner to go have apps at another nearby restaurant.

We chose this place to celebrate my husband's birthday. The cocktails from the bar took so long to get to our table that the waiter felt inclined to state that the bartender was in training and not surprisingly, the drinks tasted as such. My husband and I took a chance on the crab legs, which was a bad decision. The crab legs were so over cooked that the meat was stringy and stuck to the shell. This place was not worth spending our time or money at.

One of the best restaurants in Vail. The food is excellent. The ambiance is perfect. And the service makes you feel right at home. It is a small place but that is part of the charm. This is one place to visit every time in Vail.
