Montalcino Ristorante Italiano Ratings and Reviews
We love this restaurant , the food is always outstanding, and i f you are lucky you will get to hear their very talented guitarist or Mama come out and sing. I had a life changing meal here a few nights ago . A stuffed ravioli in their Marsala sauce topped with super tender short rib. Please put this on the permanent menu! Don't miss an opportunity to get a reservation here!
Was recommended by a good friend. First time there. We were celebrating our anniversary with our friends. Food was fantastic. Have your waitperson prepare the Antipasto plate. It was awesome. Had the tortellini stuffed with basted short rib meat. My wife had the roasted boar. Both were excellent. The canollis are the best west of Chicago.
Food and service great as always. First time we experienced a musician. He started by going table to table, which can be a nice touch. But the volume of the music was too loud for such a small venue, and we could not hear each other during this time. Before we come again, will be certain to try and avoid the musician.
Amazing food. Great family wine. Probably the best value for the quality of food in the greater Seattle area. Large, delicious portions. Be advised they have a live singer/guitarist that will come by your table and ask for requests. Lovely restaurant. Reminds me of a cozy Manhattan spot.
This is an absolute gem, with the largest assortment of Italian cuisine we have ever seen....and we have visited nearly every Italian restaurant in the greater Seattle area. They had us at the appetizers alone and then came along the main meal and we were over the moon! Definitely coming back as soon as possible vs waiting for a special occasion again!
I have dined at Montalcino at least 6 times in the last year. As before, this last dinner was very pleasant with fine service, friendly wait staff, cozy atmosphere. We also appreciate the complimentary extras like slices of bread and house made cheese with balsamic vinegar. The food, specifically my main course, however, was not good. I had the house made Kobe meat balls in Marsala cream sauce. The meat was dry, not flavorful; the sauce was good but there wasn't nearly enough of it. Disappointing for $36. My husband thought his mushroom ravioli was too salty and 'just okay". He was disappointed too. The evening special dessert was also disappointing.
I have never found their wine selections to be good and worth the price. I'll stop trying to fine a good wine there.
Since my previous meals were good to great, I will likely return and hope that my last meal was not indicative of the future.
We have been going to Montalcino since it opened and it is our favorite Italian restaurant in the entire Seatle area. My husband is Italian, and he has very high standards. From the ambience to the service to the fabulous food and wine, it is just fabulous. We took friends there who had not been last Friday and now they are huge fans, too.
