Montalcino Ristorante Italiano
Daily 4:30 pm–11:00 pm
We love coming here for special occasions. It is a small intimate restaurant so reservations are a must. This time we came for a birthday and upon arrival to the table there was a Birthday card waiting. There is a entertainer who plays a guitar and sings mostly Italian songs but also does requests. Our waitress put a red sequined hat on our Birthday girl and then the entertainer came over and had us sing Happy Birthday in Italian. A complimentary ice cream encased in chocolate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate sauce on the plate completed the meal. ...And everyone loved the food too!!
Just a cute place with good vibes and food was really good.....loved the ambiance and the attention from those who worked there....Great for a romantic date night!!!!!
We will be back! We had great fun while filling our bellys.
Food is amazing! Phenomenal experience, great service & impressive menu.
Great food and wonderful service. The waiter always was there to fill the water or remove the plates but did not hover.
Great Italian place. Tiny intimate restaurant. Food was amazing, waitstaff on top of things and knew their stuff. Manager (owner?) also stopped by every table. Great for special occasions. Menu is laid out as a multi-course meal but the portions are HUGE so one course will likely be plenty.
Very small... Bit intimate... I liked that. That staff was great! The bread brought to the table was wondetful, having basaltic vinegar and olive oil drizzled on it. The appetizer was also very good, prawns and scallops... As gar as the main entree, I had the lamb shank... The accompaniments were outstanding... Not so much for the lamb shank. While the portion was generous, and fairly tasty, the sauce was skimpy. In my opinion. And lacked real flavor or any spiciness or kick. It was good, but not mouth watering, which it should have been for the price... The corkage fee was $25! The meal was pretty good. But for the price (And I brought my own wine!) With tip was $105 ( for ONE person)
As I said, good but not great and nowhere in the league of say, The Capital Grill. Overall. Not worth the money
The antipasti platter had a great variety and super yummy. We had the seafood pasta and the osso bucco and both were delicious. Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, our server provided us with prosecco on the house. Cute, quaint little place with excellent food and service. Would definitely dine here again.
We simply love this restaurant! First class!!!
Good restaurant and food but just not worth the cost. My pasta dish was fine but it was $50. Not worth that price tag.
Great dining as always. Service is the best - always bringing little extras to the table as we dine.
Cozy cute place! Interesting menu, great value, and great service.
We are the two Asian food critics who had been to many restaurant all over the world! This place was wonderful, very welcoming and most of all great food, fresh ingredients, very delicious, and happy hard working kind waitresses!! I would definitely go back again. Thank you for your great service and wonderful food!!!!!!!!!
We love this place.
Such an amazing time with delicious food & wine! I almost cried since it reminded me so very much like my month in Italy! Each time I go I fall more in love with the entire experience.
Montalchino has no rival; it is in a class of its own. It is superior in service, ambience and well-beyond-ordinary Italian dishes. The only meal that compares to our meals at Montalchino was an Easter family meal in Montalpruno, Tuscany. We will dine at Montalchino often!
Excellent italian food! We loved the ravioli massala.. bruschetas are great too!!!
Exactly what we thought! Top of the line restaurant!
Easily one of the best restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. This little, family-owned gem offers amazing Italian food. The gnocchi is the best I have ever tasted. Leave room for the cannolis and tiramisu. Better than the best in my native New York City. It's worth a trip from Seattle or Portland just to have dinner there.
Was there for my GFs birthday. Really nice place, with a very classy, small, and private feel to it. Food was fabulous, the best Italian I've had.
Wait staff were attentive but their dress was inconsistent with the look of the place - and this was the distracting part to it. All the female staff there were in black skin tight (in some cases leather) pants and black body hugging tops. Not sure why the sexy look was necessary. Just made us feel a little uncomfortable. Aside from that, was wonderful and would go back again for sure.
Food was outstanding, as was the service! A Good selection of wines .
Awesome food and great ambiance. The Nardone family are amazing. We felt right at home and will be back many more times.
Love this restaurant. We have never had a bad meal. Reservations are a must though as seating is limited.
It was a fabulous experience and hope to return soon!!!
Food and service are excellent!
Second time we’ve been here, did not disappoint. Everything was awesome. Would recommend this restaurant to all.
Everything is nice but way over-priced. We ate out the next night and had food twice as good for half the price. Ambiance is not worth THAT much to me.
One of my personal favorites
An excellent place for a low-key fine dining experience! The service was exemplary and the food was truly outstanding.
Oh my gosh, what a great little restaurant! Enjoy your wine, food, and conversation with friends- the staff is great, food is excellent and I could not ask for better. Highly recommended.
This is my husband's favorite restaurant. The food is way better than any he had in Italy!
The service is excellent. They give you little treats and it is an overall lovely experience.
Montalcino never fails to impress. The service is outstanding and the food is the best Italian cuisine in Seattle (both quality and variety). This is definitely a destination restaurant for Seattle residents and out-of-town guests. Eastsiders can fortunately frequent on a regular basis. Looking forward to our next visit.
Love this place. It is our go-to place for birthdays, etc.
A special evening at Montalcino, delicious food and great service. Look forward to dining here again.
This is a small restaurant not far off Front Street that seems to always be filled. We have been a handful of times and it is becoming one of our favorites. There is a gentleman playing guitar and will work the room taking requests going table to table. It is fun and charming.
I have had a different meal almost every time we have been. The last time I had the prawn and scallop appetizer in a saffron sauce. It might be one of my most favorite thing ever! If you go, it is a must try. The limoncello gelato for dessert was amazing. I only wanted a couple of bites, but ate the whole flute!
Totally divine true Italian food, recommended to me by a local who goes there for all their special events. Reminded me of wonderful restaurants I have been to in Tuscany. Appetizer plate was outstanding with best cheeses ever. Pasta truffle was exquisite and chicken gorganzola had a wonderful sauce. Good wines, a guitar singer and immediately told all my friends about it! Will definitely be back soon.
We had an early reservation (5:00 p.m.) prior to attending the a show at The Village Theatre (8:00 p.m.) Montalcino is explicit, up-front, that the reservation was for 1 hour 45 minutes. From the time we were seated until we left, we felt pushed by the staff to rush our dining experience, from trying to immediately take our order (drinks, appetizer, entree, dessert), to quickly delivering food, rapidly clearing the table, and bringing the check. We finished our meal, including appetizers and dessert, in much less than 1:45 and were hurried out the door.
The food, as usual, was very good, and the service, despite the schedule push, was attentive.
Unexpectedly good! Small place definitely need reservations! I recommend the bruschetta.
Amazing! Food, service and atmosphere were great!!!
Way too expensive for the food quality served.
The quality of our meal was mediocre at best.
The lamb was over cooked, the chicken was over cooked - really tough and dry, the Italian sausage was EXTREMELY greasy, the calamari was not fresh..., tasted fishy, the pasta was over cooked, the extremely small lobster tail consisted of three bites, and we only received one prawn with each meal.
In our case, paying $150+ for an appetizer, two meals, and only water..., for myself and my wife, was extremely excessive for the quality/quantity of food served.
Oh, and the waitresses were beautiful, polite and good at their jobs..., but they were inappropriately dressed for what was supposed to be a quality family Italian restaurant.
Several of us felt they were dressed to work in a local bar, and our wives were shocked when they could actually see through their dresses...., it made them uncomfortable.
Some men might like this, but not when they go out for a nice meal with their girlfriend, wife, children and/or family.
Superb food and atmosphere, as always. We did, however, feel like we were being rushed.
