Service and food was outstanding!!! Loved our server . This was a birthday event. We came here for restaurant week and plan to return many times due to our experience.
We went during Restaurant Week and will definitely be returning to try the normal menu. Two of our party ordered the calamari in saffron sauce for their appetizers--they both loved it. I had the cheese/meats plate and it was generous and beautifully served. The gnocchi with gran parma sauce was quickly devoured and the paparadelle with roasted red pepper cream sauce was over-the-top good. We had one of each of the three desserts; they were all delicious. Service was impeccable and the little extras, such as fresh baked bread drizzled with balsamic vinegar and the house-made cheese with truffles made it a special evening.
The food was great and the service was outstanding. We came here for Seattle Restaurant week and we will definitely be back to try some of the regular entrees. The homemade salami was wonderful!
Authentic, Italian cuisine, properly prepared with fresh, fresh ingredients. The leftovers still tasted great the next day. Service was attentive and accommodating. Wine pairing advice was spot-on. The moderate sized room kept the volume low enough to have good conversation with dinner. Others dining appeared to be a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. The menu is broad and ambitious - so many offerings - it's hard to believe they are all as well prepared as our dinners were. We will be back to try more entrees from the menu.
The dinner and ambiance was perfect for our Bday Celebration. it was definitely worth the drive! I have already recommended to many friends. Thanks Tony for your beautiful music.
Great food, great service!
Best Italian food I have had in the US. Comparable to a restaurant I went to in Venice, Italy. Great service and reminded me of a quaint restaurant in Italy. Amazing food and good wine. I plan on coming back soon.
Magnificent! If you go anywhere else to eat when you are in or around Issaquah you’ve made a mistake. This is a great find for an incredible meal. Try the short rib stuffed raviolis....you won’t be disappointed! I’ll be back for sure.
Dined at Montalcino as part of Seattle Restaurant week. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared--Italian comfort food. Not for fitness buffs. The housemade truffle cheese was a delightful surprise. The pesto sauce is the best we've ever had. Our server was cheerful and thoughtful. A great night!
Awesome as always!
A wonderful evening spent at Montalcino. The food was amazing! Everyone totally enjoyed their meal . Presentation of all meals was great; service was supburb. We will be back!
It was our very first time to dine here and sure enough we are not disappointed. The place was small but the ambience is good. The wine our server suggested were superb and the food were awesome! We had a very good service and everyone was outstanding! We will definitely come back and will put this place as one of our favorite.
We visited the restaurant during the restaurant week, but opted to select from the regular menu. Everybody in our party of 4 enjoyed the food that was both tasty and authentic. I had the linguine with seafood sauce and it was great, with a good amount of seafood and a red, tasty sauce. One friend had the spaghetti with lobster, while the other two had the chicken dish. The four of us unanimously agreed on the quality of the food, its competent preparation, and the friendly but precise service. We will return.
Always exceptional, very happy to see Montalcino participating in Seattle restaurant week. Excellent value for the promotion as well as full menu.
The food was fantastic but even better was the attentive staff who really went out of their way to ensure a great dining experience
I literally can't recommend this restaurant enough!! My husband and I have been wanting to try it out since moving to Issaquah and as soon as we saw it was part of Restaurant Week we jumped on the opportunity. The food was by far the best we've had since traveling to Italy. The staff (& owner) went out of their way to ensure you had the best dining experience possible. From giving us a sample of a truffle cheese his mother made in Italy, to making a point to shake our hands and thank us for coming in on our way out, the service can't be beat. We will absolutely be back!!!
On a recommendation from a friend, we went to Montalcino Ristorante Italiano for the first time. We were not disappointed. The food was fabulous and the service was too. We lucked out because there was live entertainment that night too. For a small establishment, this is a neighborhood gem.. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends, too.
The place is consistently very good to excellent. The best Italian food in Western Washington in my opinion.
Great food, wine & service! This is our favorite place, by far. Thank you guys!
Me and my fiancé were having a date night and heard of Montalcino and wanted to try it out. We were blown away by the service and the food and just the overall ambiance. Very romantic spot. The both of us had there wine flights which very good and very generous pours. The food is obviously amazing. True Italian cuisine. Portion size of the food is pretty big but definitely worth it. If you have room for dessert go with the cannolis they are very delicious. Overall, Montalcino’s is now one of our favorite Italian places to eat and we’ll be back again for sure.
It’s never a disappointment. Wish I could eat here all the time.
Special thanks to the serving team at Montalcino. Between Mia and Lucy we were well taken care of. Love the short ribs and lamb shank. Deserts are a must — several. Can’t inagine a better night.
Although more expensive than most restaurants in Issaquah the food preparation is quite exquisitely creative and very generous. It is a very small restaurant located just off of Front Street with an unusually small number of tables so even on a weekday evening one must have a reservation. The service staff is attentive and helpful. This was our second time there and the food was just as wonderful this time as the last. We were 4 people for dinner and we all ordered wine by the glass and everyone was pleased with their selection, still including the 20% tip the bill was well in excessive of $400.00.
Again we were most pleased that we came to celebrate our Mother's 97th Birthday. It's a small, quaint, authentic feeling, brick walled true Italian Restaurant. One like you would expect to find in some of the country's Italian communities such as NYC. Wonderfully prepared meals, generous to take the excess home for leftovers. We'll be back.
Small and demure, on a side street much like such restaurants we enjoyed in Italy. We have never been disappointed with the flavorful dishes and knowledgeable but discrete staff. The many menu choices surprise me for such a small restaurant; the wine list is sufficient for our taste. Expect to be serenaded with guitar and Italian and Italian-American songs.
We've been coming here for years, always a delightful experience.
Second time here and it's been great both times. Appetizer sampler plate was very good. Rack of lamb special was really tasty. Service was outstanding.
Delicious food, friendly service, and a lively guitar player make for a great experience at the cozy Montalcino.
This was the most authentic Italian food we've ever had; it was absolutely outstanding! From the homemade pasta and breads to the live music on Saturday night and great customer service, it is sure to please. It is a small and intimate restaurant that is great for special occasions. It is on the pricier side, but worth every penny. We highly recommend it.
This was our second time and everything was just as perfect as our first visit. Can’t believe we were lucky enough to get same day reservations on a Saturday...lucky us! We will be back for sure :)
Quite possibly the best food I have eaten in the Unites states of America since my arrival
5 years ago. we have decided that it will be our restaurant of choice for our special occasions
with good friends and overseas quests
Great as always!
Montalcino can make even a mid-week dinner feel special. wonderful food.
The food was amazing as always. We ordered one of the recommended wines and it was perfect with our meal. I highly recommended Montalcino for a special occasion.
This was our first time to Montalcino and everything was great. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful and we enjoyed the entire evening. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Always predictably great food and service. Authentic and original Italian cuisine.
Always delicious! We love going here and savoring their food. Too much good stuff on that menu! Hard to choose from. The staff is good and I’m happy to say I have no outward complaints.
Definitely make a reservation if your going on a Saturday. There are about 10 tables total and they are packed in there.
The service was great. Lucy was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. There was one additional server and a floater that touched our table multiple times so we always had water, wine, and a clean table.
The cabernet by the glass wasn't my favorite. A bit sweet and didn't have that bold flavor like most cabs that I like.
The house made truffled pecorino was AMAZING - this was offered complimentary before our meal along with warm freshly baked bread. I ordered the frutti di mare and my husband had the wild boar parpardelle. Both were delicious. I appreciated that the frutti di mare was not heavy handed with garlic or sauce and the seafood was cooked properly, with the exception of the prawn which was overdone. The food took a reasonable amount of time to arrive from the kitchen (15-20 minutes). We were seated around the beginning of a turnover and I noticed after all the tables turned the other tables did have to wait a bit longer for their food.
We had the tiramisu for dessert. The cream/mascarpone filling was very light and fluffy. The lady fingers were properly soaked. I would have liked less cream, but that of course is just a preference. We were brought a small glass of sparkling dessert wine at the end of the meal.
There was live music and the gentleman made his rounds to each table and played for a while near the entrance.
Since the place is small and the tables are close to each other it does make it somewhat difficult to have a quiet date night. We were in a row of 2 tops and we were constantly hearing the wait staff, people talking on otherside of us, or the music.
Sat up front sharing bar with hostess station, but it’s a small place. The waitress kind of talks to you from behind. Other than that the food was fantastic as always. Just book your table well in advance.
