Montalcino Ristorante Italiano
Daily 4:30 pm–11:00 pm
Authentic and excellent, the best in the Seattle region! Outstanding!
Wonderful dinner and ambience. We will be back soon!
Appreciate the special attention for our anniversary. I was in the mood for a meaty red sauce but unfortnately ordered the wrong entree (Red sauce w pork) but husband ordered gnocchi and it was fine.
Tiramisu was outstanding!
Fabulous as always. A most wonderful intimate, cosy, delightful restaurant that never disappoints. I hope they never change a thing because it is just perfectly, sumptuously delicious in every way!
Wonderful time celebrating my boyfriends 35th bday!
This was my 3rd visit and I have thoroughly enjoyed each experience. The service is great and the food superb. They also make great effort to comply with dietary restrictions. Definitely worth the drive and the inconvenient parking suituation.
As always, this place delivers!
Always have a great meal with terrific service in a warm and welcoming setting.
The best authentic italian food on the eastside. Outstanding service and ambiance.
We had a wonderful meal and experience celebrating our son’s engagement
We went for my husband's birthday and everything was great. I highly recommend it for special occasions. Birthdays. Anniversaries. Wednesdays.
I am happy to discover this exceptional restaurant in Issaquah and look forward to going again the next time I’m there. The food was amazing. It offers an extensive list of pasta with many types of sauces along with a variety of meat and seafood options. We had the pasta with pesto and mushroom sauce, halibut, beef with an amazing sauce, a light version of tiramisu, and lemon sorbet—all memorable. The service is friendly and professional. The decor is charming and the tables well spaced. We were able to get a same-day reservation for 5pm, but recommend booking early as the restaurant is small (but mighty).
What a find! Such a cute, intimate spot - so cozy with the brick walls. The service and food were wonderful! Italian family owned with the son at the front and the mom in the kitchen. We will be back!
Great Ambiance to most restaurants in the area. Service was great. Food was good, not amazing taste but I am rating that from a perspective of many travels in europe and Italy. Pretty expensive for taste but was nice to have local feel.
Sunday night, quiet and great room. This time however, the service slow which I believe also resulted in our food not being hot. Great dishes, but not when they are sitting waiting to be delivered. Did not recognize the server from our previous very good service, so we will certainly return for another opportunity to get it right.
One of our favorite restaurants anywhere. Extraordinary family owned Italian restaurant with superb food. Best possible flavors, presentation and taste. Lovely, warm ambience and perfect service.
Montalcino’s is arguably the best Italian restaurant in the Northwest. Most of the food is imported from Italy and is the restaurant is owned and operated by a family from Italy. Truly a different experience from other restaurants in the region. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Don't know why we waited so long to try it!!!
a favorite! felt i was in italia...food is amazing, service and ambience special!
Great food. Server was very friendly and attentive
Great service, great food - one of our favorites
I have frequented Montalcino several times for special occasions with my family. The ambiance is special. The food is awesome. (Although after dinner espresso drinks could be better.) My only issue with this awesome restaurant, is with the mandated time limit on my table every time. Ironically I have never exceeded that time - the reason is that the pace of service is just to fast -- especially when special occasions are the central factor for me in going there. You really get the feeling they are fully intent on turning tables and hence you fell rush pressure. I can understand that from a business perspective - sales, orders, and earnings, BUT .... I will go back no question - it is a very special place. I just do not like the rush and pressure to be done and out in xx number of minutes
Food was fantastic as always! Wonderful atmosphere, charming music and good company! All of the rest of the patrons enjoyed the same experience!
As always, Montalcino is the place to go for special occasions, this time our Anniversary. Appetizers/salads/main courses and desert are specially prepared, served professionally and done to perfection! Specifically, the Halibut Special and the Lamb Shank, also the special were perfect! Thanks to the family!
Outstanding food and service! The staff is warm and welcoming. The food is so good, we even get some more food to go for the next day.
Once again we were blown away at the lovely atmosphere, delicious food, & wonderful family meal experience at Montalcino! I took my parents who were in town visiting and they believed it was the closest thing to actually being in Italy. The only negative was that the meatball for my sons spaghetti was hard and dry. Not sure if it was on the menu or not but it was hard to eat & difficult to cut
Montalcino Ristorante Italiano is our favorite restaurant by far, especially to celebrate special occasions! It is pricey - but the food, service and atomosphere makes it worth the cost! The staff goes out of their way to make every visit a personal experience - they treat everyone as family. LOVE the live music! Looking forward to spending precious time with family and friends at Montalcino at our next special occasion!
Our favorite romantic date night spot for authentic Italian cuisine. The roving musician is fun also! Hands down, best Italian restaurant on the east side.
Visited during restaurant week, and had the calamari appetizer, the mushroom ravioli, and the tiramisu. The ravioli was my favorite course of the night, with the tiramisu and calamari behind it; respectively.
The setting was definitely intimate and would recommend it for a night out, and it’s perfect for a date or an anniversary.
Great food and service! Highly recommend it to anyone!
Great authentic food. Good ambiance. A bit expensive $$. Good for special occasions.
Superb. One of the best restaurants on the Eastside, including Bellevue. The food, prepared by the owner's mother, is to die for: her sauces are flavorful without being overwhelming, and everything--from the bespoke salads to pasta to desserts--is homemade and delicious. Fernando the owner and his mom are welcoming, wonderful people, and the service is 5-star.
We will most likely never return. Enduring a condescending, less then honest waitress made for an uncomfortable evening. We ordered the antipasto from the regular menu (which was a full plate of fairly boring cheeses and meats) and asked for a wine suggestion. Her only suggestions were $100 wines. When we ordered a $59 bottle she snubbed her nose at us. Then we dared ask about restaurant week. She rolled her eyes as we gently asked if we could see the menu. We were given regular menus when seated and it was certainly an inconvenience to have to bring the other menus, which were, all vegetarian items! The tabled ordered a mix of items from both menus. The food preparation was ok...simply ok... nothing to return for and nothing memorable. For $300 before tip we expect excellent service (my husband and I have both been waiters and our son manages a Michelin restaurant in Manhattan) and delicious food. We had neither.
We will neither recommend nor return to this restaurant.
I got a pasta dish with seafood. The pasta was excellent but the clams did not taste very fresh. The restaurant has a policy of allowing one-and-half hours per seating. It's likely sufficient time but our group felt rushed to finish in time. Service was outstanding.
This was always my favorite restaurant, though pricey, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is quaint and quiet. Always my go to place for special occasions.
This last visit was very disappointing. There homemade wine went from reasonable to ridiculously expense and now only sold by the bottle. Their nightly specials were way too expensive seafood pasta my friend had was $52. On menu prices were still reasonable. The homemade complimentary truffle cheese was one of my favorite things. Now they just serve you a few slivers and it tasted moldy.
I hate to see the quality of this place go down hill because it was always such a treat. I hope they make some improvements and get back up to speed.
We wanted a special, romantic evening for two and we weren’t disappointed. The food was outstanding, the servers were considerate and attentive, and the proprietor made a point of greeting and checking on every customer. We felt as if we’d been transported to Italy for the evening.
Montalcino Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful, small family owned restaurant that is perfect for celebrating special moments in your life like anniversaries, birthdays, and other milestones. There aren't many tables, so making a reservation over a week in advance is often needed. The menu including several nightly specials is fantastic. The wine list includes many options that aren't found in most restaurants so my wife and I enjoy trying new wines here. It's very family friendly as well - highly recommended for their personalized service, quality food, and atmosphere.
