Enjoy a quiet evening out at Mont Blanc, located in Manhattan. With its intimate lighting and upscale atmosphere, it is ideal for business meetings, small gatherings with friends or a romantic date night. Spectacular artwork along the walls, white table linens and candlelight at each table further enhance the decorative ambiance. Outdoor seating offers guests an additional place to enjoy their meals.
Mont Blanc's full bar serves wines, cocktails and more. Most of the dinner entrees at Mont Blanc include a fresh, crisp salad to prepare the palate. Top dinner plates include the tender veal cordon bleu and juicy chicken marsala. For dessert, indulge in the Swiss apple tart, which is topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel and whipped cream.
Brunch this time but food is exceptional and owner Maria always welcoming and accommodating. This is my theater district regular spot.
Mt Blanc is our go to neighborhood bar and when I can I enjoy a meal there. The food quality is very good and the management and employees are friendly and low key- but the service is fast and efficient-
Food and service was very good. Noise level was very high due to group that seemed to drink too much and were very loud and boisterous. That was not restaurants fault. Very nice when group finished and left. Will go back again in the future. Worth the visit.
Wiener schnitzel was OK, but just OK. Small resemblance to the Viennese original. Same for apfel strudel. Service was friendly and excellent. Customers all seemed to know each other. Group of men at next table had their meal, then waitress brought them a stack of cards, and they settled in for the night. That was a nice touch.
We're regulars and we had our regular great meal, including miraculous martinis, wonderful food and warm, welcoming services.
Maria the owner is absolutely wonderful. She is a hands on owner.
Excellent service- amazing Raclette! Perfect night!
Have never been disappointed. Food always great, service always first class
Superb European cuisine.
We both had entrées from the specials menu, and everything was fabulous.
Minor complaint. Despite our reservation, we had to wait 10 min for a table. I guess that's a testament to how popular and delicious it is.
This is more upscale than our usual pre-theater dining but a lovely splurge. White linens, lovely rooms (choose back for quiet, front has bar). French/Swiss food. Rosti potatoes (similar to hash browns) served with most entrees .
Food mainly good, Wiener schnitzel very dry
Service patchy - both our table and group next to us had to hunt down waiter so we could get our checks so we wouldn't miss show
We had Raclette! It was fantastic. Really should be given more attention on thr menu. It was a fun and unique eating experience. They give you a personal broiler and lots of ingredients. The fruity martinis were not the freshest. Better to get straight alcohol to keep quality high and limit hangovers.
I think of Mont Blanc as "no frills dining". Nothing fancy and always good. Staff is always courteous and efficient. Hosts and hostesses may be the owners, I've never been sure, but they are always welcoming. And I have never had a bad meal there.
my husband's seafood pasta was very good, but my weiner schnitzel was overcooked, with a spice in its breading that was not tasty. dessert - apple streudel - was excellent.
Food was great but we sat outside and the store next door was burning incense which blew over to where we were sitting.
This is my "go-to" place whenever I am in New York. This time I brought my friend who lives in the city and had never been there. Both of us enjoyed our brunch. It has to be one of the best values in the city, particularly when the food is always so delicious. I had a portobella and swiss cheese omelet; she had the spinach frittata. Both were served with the most delicious crispy potatoes and warm yummy bread--soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. I love how comfortable the owner Maria and the server (a friendly, smiling gentleman) always make the dining experience, and I heard other people coming in saying how happy they were to be back. My friend wants to explore Mont Blanc as a place for her NYC friends to gather for meetings and brunch. It is a gem. Can't wait to go back next time I am in the city.
Got the prix fixe. Every order that everybody's order was good, and ample amount of food, EXCEPT for the dumpling. It was a main dish. I was expected a large amount of food, as all the other dishes were large. But the dumpling was a single, lonely dumpling.
Great value if you go for the Fixed price menu. Nice wine list . They asked us when we were seated they asked if we were attending a show. As soon as we said yes, they timed everything perfectly. Only caveat is the meals are on the heavy side. Sauces and such. But everything was very good.
So wonderful in this day and age to see an owner, in this case Maria, be so hands on and take care that everyone is happy and to also keep prices affordable in including a salad and vegetables with the main course. Long may she reign!
With its extensive prefix dinner menu and its even wider ala carte selections one can dine at Mt. Blanc multiple times before getting to try the marvelous fondues (cheese, meat and chocolate). We have been eating at Mt. Blanc for years and have never been disappointed.
We chose this restaurant due to its proximity to the theatre district and varied menu. The food and service were both great. I would definitely eat here again. Reservations are highly recommended .
Mont Blanc truly encompasses the European vibe! I will definitely go back when I don't have theater tickets so I can fully enjoy the laid back atmosphere and fabulous food! They do not rush you, they absolutely want your meal to be an experience!
We have eaten dinner at Mont Blanc three times over 15 years. Each time it has been excellent. It is very centrally located in the NYC theater district for those eating dinner before or after the theater. It was particularly wonderful for our special occasion dinner while the theater-going people were at their shows. If we lived in the neighborhood instead of 4 hours away, we would visit Mont Blanc and Maria and her friendly staff many times a year.
This is my favorite place for food, value, easy conversation and welcoming feel when you enter. I felt rushed by the waiter, food was just OK and the interior needs some sprucing up. I think the restaurant is in the midst of a transition and distracted from their usual best. I hope they do well and will definitely check back.
My family and I enjoyed dinner at Mont Blanc prior to a Broadway show. The food and service were both great; and, we had an enjoyable meal that still got us to the show on time.
La comida es la verdadera protagonista de este restaurante. Aunque es un local viejo, se encuentra limpio y el servicio es excepcional. La porcion de la comida es exageradamente alta y ellos quieren darte mas comida. La verdad fue una experiencia muy buena. Definitivamente regresare.
Fondue was absolutely horrible!! Had to send it back. Not sure why and how this place has such high ratings.
You feel as though you're tucked away in a small corner of a European city. The service is friendly, the food delicious, the price - reasonable. It is a perfect pre-theater choice (fast, but not rushed!), and also perfect for more leisurely dining.
Can't believe we've been visiting New York for 30 years and this is the first time we discovered such a gem, just 5 blocks from our apt...We'll be back!
Mont Blanc never disappoints. Being greeted by Maria upon entry and having one's hand shaken by the waiter are just foreshadowing of an enjoyable meal. Prices and offerings are always reasonable. Drinks are generous. Service is attentive. While this isn't cutting edge dining, it is great, comfort food in a friendly, warm setting. Mont Blanc is definitely my "go to" spot for pre-theater dining or a drink at a friendly bar.
Wonderful swiss food! Veal and Rosti were excellent
Enjoyed a before theatre fondue dinner with my daughter. Atmosphere and service were great, salad was average but fondue was fun.
Just heard this place may be closing. That would be a shame. Been coming here for years.
I go to NYC every year and I eat here once on each visit. It is very close to the theater district and the food is always great. Cheese fondue is what they do best.
Food was delicious. Entrees come with salad, potato and vegetable and great bread. Everything was delicious. We had the weiner schnitzel and the farmers plate. Only drawback was that we were seated in the bar area at VERY closely spaced tables. There is a back room where we had requested to be seated when making our reservation. No big deal. We had a wonderful meal and got to the theatre on time.
A survivor. A long-time, reliable, pre/post-theater gem. Good food, charming service. Wonderful, old-school, unpretentious dining room. If you want glitz, go elsewhere. If you want a tasty, filling meal, served with charming hospitality. Mont Blanc should be on your short list of choices.
I lived in NYC for 26 years and did not know about Mont Blanc. On a return visit last week, my niece and I shared a traditional, fabulous cheese fondue there. Everything on the menu cried out. "Delicious 😋!" The service was friendly and perfect.YAY!
Mont Blanc is a great restaurant in the theatre district-it is great both pre and post theatre. The Swiss fondue is perfect. The staff treats you like a special person-especially if you dine there regularly.
The food was wonderful and we had a delicious dinner. The wiener schnitzle and rosti was a treat and I recommend them.
Excellent as always!
