Monserrate Restaurant - Coral Way Ratings and Reviews
The food was cold . We didn't said anything because the waitress were unfriendly. So we decided to leave like that and cross this restaurant out, we have visit the one in Doral that its worst than this. We were craving for Colombian food and decided to give it a try but its not worthy. Next time I want Colombian food I better wait until I go to Colombia. Because there aren't any good place around town. The dessert was plain dry and no much taste. The parking was confused so we ended up parking in the street in the meter zone.
I took my best friend to eat here for her birthday and the overall experience was good. I gave this place 3 stars because the service really wasn't that great. We saw our server about 3 times and he didn't really say much to us, he would just look at us. I was waiting for him to come by for so long to get a water refill that I had to end up drinking my best friends water.
The food was okay. I had a churrasco which wasn't really that juicy. My best friend had a Colombian Steak "bistec a la Colombiana" and she said it was okay as well because it didn't have much flavor.
The ambiance was great. They had live music and it wasn't overbearing.
I used to come quite frequently to the restaurant since it is 15 minutes away from Brickell. After every trip I would go here straight from the airport. The food has been always very yummy, until this time. I had a Bandeja Paisa and it was OK. Idid not liked the beans because they tasted like the chep put way too many condiments on them. The rice was bland and "masacotudo", so the texture was not very appealing. The server was just not present. She took our order and she disappeared and there was not that many people in the restaurant. She didn't even asked if we liked the food. Not that she cares, but just to make a little conversation. After going there like 8 times for the past couple of months I am moving on to a different restaurant.
I have been several times to Monserrate because it is only 15 minutes from my house. I am Colombian and I have been to several Colombian restaurants, but nothing as top notch as this one. Since my mom found it, I go there with her or my boyfriendn all the time. The empanadas are very good, and of course the Bandeja Paisa is a must. I always order the regular one with Carne Asada.
