Mondello Ristorante Italiano Ratings and Reviews
We just moved to Magnolia and Mondello’s was suggested to us to try. We went for my birthday dinner and were very excited to have found our new family staple. This place is locally owned and operated by a wonderful family. We will for sure be back for the amazing wine, food, atmosphere and service.
Food was ok nothing outstanding to us. The staff was attentive, our waitress seemed nervous and we felt kinda rushed even tho we were the only diners. The ambiance was nice, however the table for 4 was very tiny. One of our dishes came several minutes after the other 3. It was my daughters birthday and they did bring her ice cream with a candle. Thank you!
Our meal was good and the service was timely. We had burrata caprese but we were disappointed in the quality of the tomatoes. This is fresh tomatoe season here in the NW and we would have thought that the restaurant would insists on as much local veggies and fruit as they can get. I also requested their bresaola which was on the menu but was told it wasn’t available.
The guys lasagna was good as was my friends bolognese, my pasta with prawns was okay. A very small serving of pasta with about 5 fishy tasting prawns.
I have had really good meals here in the past so I will definitely go back and will try something else on the menu.
I am so pleased to have finally found a real Italian restaurant in the USA. The food here is authentic Italian, fresh, simple and totally delicious. I can't recommend Mondello enough. It's a fantastic restaurant and well worth visiting even if you're located in downtown Seattle. Grab and Uber and enjoy peace and quiet in cosy little Magnolia village.
Very good food. Pasta is perfectly al dente. They've been consistent every time my husband and I go. The puttanesca and clam linguine are my favorites. I only gave it 4 stars because the service is a bit lacking. Last time, I waited in line for a table (that I had reserved on OpenTable). My husband was parking the car. The older gentleman (i think he was the owner), failed to acknowledge me and seated the two separate parties waiting in line behind me first. Another hostess assisted me only after I complained.
Very disappointing. Food was just... bad. The person who took our order (I presume the owner) very pleasant however, he didn't even tell me that my $15 bottle of wine was going to cost me $25 to uncork. I would have chosen a bottle from the house. Will never be back... sorry!
First, we were told that our reservation through Open Table had not gone through, although we had the confirmation email. It was just after 5:00, so they did seat us. We were informed when our main courses should have been served that they had run out of the gnocchi, so we had to order a replacement. The lasagne was served cold in the middle. The pasta dishes were delicious, but the clam appetizer was too salty and the clams had hardly any meat in them. We skipped dessert, although it was a special occasion, because we'd been sitting there just too long. Service was slow, and we were overcharged on the bill. Maybe we just got unlucky.
