Mondello Ristorante Italiano
Mondello has beautiful pasta dishes, seafood & main courses, salads, zuppe & bruschette & antipasti dishes. Corino (owner) & Enza (chef) grew up in the vicinity of Mondello and they bring to Seattle their wonderful tradition of fresh seafood, homemade pasta & rich authentic Sicilian cuisine with all it's flair & joy of living.
They have the life experience of fine cooking and appreciation & sensiblity of the Italian palate that allows them to create a dining experience reminiscent of being in Mondello, Sicily.
No one fails to be entranced by Mondello's welcoming beauty and warm personality.
One of our favorites. Great spot, owners are true Sicilians and mama knows how to cook. Always a treat.
Mondello never disappoints. The pasta special, lobster and shrimp fettuccine, was to die for.
Mondello is our favorite go to neighborhood restaurant. We enjoy not only the delicious food but the warm atmosphere and great service.
Mondello is just brilliant every time. Never anything but exceptional, fresh authentic Italian food!
Great Italian in the neighborhood. The coziness is engaging and never had a bad meal there yet.
Charming restaurant with excellent service, attention from the owners and delicious food. A bit on the pricey side for a weeknight meal.
Great homemade gluten-free pasta. Very good variety of choices.
Mondello is a special place that I love to visit with out of town guest. The owner and staff are always so welcoming. It is a place I can relax and never feel rushed. The food is delicious and the menu offers something for everyone. There is a nice selection of wines for pairing with dinner.
Always great food and great service in this neighborhood gem
I love Mondello! Great Italian food! Delicious. At busy times you will want a reservation.
Dinner with the grandkids. Disappointed, won’t be back. Several menu and wine items were not available. Food marginal as was the service.
Will always return here, the food is authentic, as is the staff :) Straight from Italy to Magnolia. You can't go wrong.
Good wine, good food and great staff, they always have a couple of specials that are really good.
This was our first experience that was not 5 star as the featured pasta special with mussels was extremely salty. Both people at our table who ordered the dish commented on this immediately. We feel this was just a one-off problem and we'll definitely be back.
Wonderful, authentic food and ambiance! Great service and specials!
Fabulous food. Wonderful atmosphere. This restaurant rates right up there with my best NY and Italy dining experiences. Love it.
Mondello always strives for perfection and still holds true to its cultural authenticity. The amount pride that this place puts into their service, food, ambiance and overall experience is exceptional. You can feel the sense of love from all the staff, you can see that they all work in unison as a team and they are very, very personable.
The best dish is their lasagna. MOUTH WATERING! Now, my grandmother makes good lasagna, but I have never had anything like this. If you are a first time eater here, GET THE LASAGNA.
Keep doing what you are doing. I love coming here and, will be a place I will come to for a very long time.
Again, our third visit in as many weeks was great. Pastas are especially good and we’ve always had at least one of the specials. Our favorite restaurant in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle.
Great, cozy Italian eatery with fresh homemade pasta
Food is always good. Wine selection is good. One of our regular places.
Authentic Italian, exceptional menu coaxing stunning flavors in every dish. The lasagne is exceptional. I tried the Marsala Mushroom Ravioli this last visit and had to give a bite to everyone at the table. I'll go back JUST FOR THAT RAVIOLI! Wow.
They made a lovely vegan dish for me, then served it up with shaved Parmesan. The “vegan” butternut squash soup couldn’t be further from being vegan. I like this place, but this has happened before. I’d appreciate them paying a bit more attention.
Good, simple food that’s heavy on meat and seafood. Very few vegetarian or vegan options. My vegan soup turned out to have cheese in it - tasty, though.
Just wonderful as always
We have lived in Magnolia for several years and Mondello’s Restorante enhances Our Magnolia Village. Our family has been going there for years This is one of Our Favorite Places to dine. It is family owned and they pride in providing authentic, homemade Italian food. Fresh ingredients are used and evening specials are offered. The owner, Chefs, and servers enjoy what they do and take exceptional care of every person who enters their Mondello Restorante. You will always see the owner’s grandmother sitting at the counter with a glass of vino with a smile on her face watching her grandson run the family business. When Our daughter flies in from San Francisco, she always asks to have dinner at her Favorite Place Mondello’s Restorante. We cannot compare it to any other Italian Restaurant in the Seattle area because when we want Italian Food we go Mondello’s Restorante where we are taken care of like Family. Grading,
Great food. Wonderful place.
Always excellent and the Best Spaghetti Alla Carbonara EVER!!
Mondello’s is a great Italian restaurant with authentic ambience that reminded me of Italy. I spent 4 months abroad in Milan, and after stepping in, I was instantly reminded of my time there. The food was delicious, the service was personal; they made you feel like you were at home. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic home-cooked Italian meal. I loved it so much and I can’t wait to come back again soon!
I wish I could love this place. It would be so nice to have a local spot to just go to. The lasagna is excellent, but everything else I have had here is more or less "meh." For example, the Ceasar salad was way overdressed with a mayonnaise-like dressing. Really? Mayo? But what will keep me away is how LOUD, INCREDIBLY LOUD it was inside the tiny room. My ears are still ringing from it two days later.
We visited Seattle for a long weekend to meet up with our daughter and grandson. We stayed in a wonderful air bnb in the same neighborhood as the restaurant. Food was excellent. I had the ravioli with prawns. You couldnt ask for better food or friendlier service, and we had a toddler with us.
Very enjoyable. Food excellent. Atmosphere cozy. Service attentive but not overdone, which I appreciate. Great relaxed family get together.
What a gem! This is the best Italian I've had in Seattle and the best Italian I've had since living in Italy. The lasagna and bolognese were to die for! Great wine list. Affogato was such a treat! It's not "Italian with a PNW twist" like so many places in Seattle try to do. Just authentic Italian dishes done impeccably well. We loved our experience here! It is super cozy and family owned. Magnolia is full of hidden gems and this might just top the list. We're so excited to have a true Italian spot in our neighborhood.
This is my new favorite Italian restaurant. The staff is warm and friendly and the food is excellent.
Well our Hostess / waitress was lovely. We went in the afternoon on a weekday. My friend had the Gorgonzola gnocchi which was pretty much cream mixed with gorgonzola over not too bad gnocchi but super plain no garlic or salt or Pepper or spice of any kind.. I got carbonara, the eggs were scrambled and the pasta was firm, too firm for my liking. The pancetta was tough. The price would have been fine if the food was amazing but it felt like a complete rip-off.
Food and service were very good. BUT the people next our table were so obnoxiously loud that we tcould not comfortably converse at our table. One person in particular had such a screeching loud voice that we had to stop our conversation until she was done with it. It made the nice dinner with our friends a not-so-nice gathering. Too bad!
There is no such thing as a bad meal at Mondello. Service is personal and the food is brilliant. Real Italian food in the USA is hard to find, especially perfectly al dente pasta. If you’re in Seattle, Uber out to discover Mondello and Magnolia village. It’s well worth it.
Great place. The only thing I would add would be outside night lighting of the Mondello sign.
The 4 of us go to a movie & an Italian restaurant almost monthly. We’ve been to over 70 restaurants in Seattle alone. You’ve heard the saying, “where’s the beef?” I ordered the veal scallopini & I said, “where’s the veal?” There was a very small, very thin piece of veal overladen with prosciutto which made it look like it was a substantial piece of veal. It wasn’t. Two ordered the lasagna which both said wasn’t very good. The special was a cod dish which was ok.
After the appetizers & after they delivered the main dishes we needed to ask for silverware & my husband drank my water since no one came to refill our water glasses.
It’s a small neighborhood restaurant so it’s noisy too. There’s so many great Italian rrestaurants in Seattle. Unfortunately, the four of us ranked Mondello the least favorite of all the Italian restaurants we’ve been to.
The halibut was outstanding!!!
The family who runs the restaurant ar excellent hosts. Feels like we are eating in Italy.
