solid comforting restaurant good ambience and srice
My husband and I dine at Mom abu Gabi frequently. It’s our favorite restaurant not only because of their cuisine but service is great!
Usually love this place. Find the daily specials to be very reliable. Was really disappointed in porterhouse pork chop.
I would still recommend. I think this experience was a one off.
Staff and management are, with the rare exception, warm and welcoming with excellent menu knowledge
The food was excellent as well as the service. Have been here many times with my wife and with groups. They can accommodate large groups as well. Enjoy the experience!
This used to be my favorite restaurant, but it hasn’t not kept pace with the other options in the last few years. Menu has not changed much, very heavy on beef and pork with limited poultry options for those needing lighter fare. Hard to dine here if the entire group does not share the same palate. Salads are still very good, and they allow substitutions in the protein selection. Breakfast is the most limiting when it comes to options, if you opt for the bananas foster waffle ask for extra topping up front as it arrives in a separate serving dish and there is never enough in the bowl to ensure each bite of waffle has sauce on it.
Awesome, New Years Day Brunch! Wear your pajamas. Food was awesome, atmosphere was perfect, service was great! We will be here next year!
We love Mon Ami Gabi, especially the hamburgers, they have always been perfect medium rare with awesome fries, however, this New Year, our hamburgers were overcooked and our waiter seemed overwhelmed, I did not complain since we were getting back our money via GC but this was The worse dining experience I ever had with Mon Ami.
We went to Mon Ami for New Years and had a lovely time. Great food and great drinks with impeccable service. It was a little loud which should be expected on New Years but we were in the mood for loud. We all loved our meals and would absolutely go back. As a plus they have a gluten free menu.
Food was excellent with a great ambiance.
New Year’s Eve
WE were rushed in New Year’s Eve, entree came while we just were serve the appetizers , they had to take it back, then brought it back it was in the microwave, did not taste good at all. Never coming back again
I loved it even though I got hit by one of the light bulbs thing and the manager didn't say anything
Always fabulous food and great service! Nice touch of complimentary profiteroles for dessert at New Years Eve brunch.
Mon Ami delivers...my favorite place for a filet, perfectly cooked, friendly service.
This review is for brunch, which was mediocre at best. The quiche was runny and the crab cake eggs Benedict was bland. The service was average and a bit slow considering that it wasn’t busy. We were disappointed, as we’ve enjoyed the dinner service very much. In the future, we’ll skip Mon Ami Gabi for brunch.
I love breakfast here. The best coffee in the city and The corned beef hash is so amazing. I try to make it here every time I'm in Vegas
A not-fussy, very pleasant French restaurant with a smallish menu of tasty, freshly-made dishes. The only drawback is the weird parking garage situation at the Reston Towne Center that appears to require installation of an app to pay for parking.
Onion soup was very salty (something most amateur chef are guilty of).
Young waiter needs to be better trained (to not through the spoons on the table when soups are served).
Sandwich steak and frites (French fries) were good.
Profiteroles shells were not fresh (dry)
Great food and service. A little noisy at height of the lunch hour
The food was disappointing. I was born and raised in France, so I know all about thinly-cut steaks, but have never had a steak this thin, except on a Philly cheesesteak. It was about 1.5 mm thick, the thinnest I have ever had in any restaurant, in any country! I wanted it medium rare, not sure how they could have achieved that given it was so thin. The escargots' garlic butter was mostly clarified butter once it reached my table. Not the garlic butter I am used to, even at this particular restaurant. The fries were very good as alway, so were the green beans and sautéed mushrooms. Service was very good. Overall, not a great experience, will stick to the occasional casual lunch.
The food is always great here. Their tables are too close to each other and the noise level is extremely high. I was keep getting bumped by the passing servers and other guests.
We went on Christmas eve. All was wonderful, except one vegetable meal came out undercooked (vegetables were hard and crunchy ). The waitress took it back to be cooked more and was apologetic and offered another meal. My daughter said that she'd just wait for her original meal to be cooked more. The rest of our group were mostly done by the time her meal came back out. We never complained, but we were given such nice treatment to help make up for it, that we left happy and impressed. ..my husband's wine glass was refilled, desert rolls with chocolate sauce and ice cream were delivered to the table and, when we paid, we were given a $25 gift card. That's what I call top notch customer service. Plus our meals were delicious.
Friendly; knowledgeable; & thoughtful service from staff and management.
The restaurant bathroom needs a little TLC and table linens should be reviewed after each meal (table linen next to us was dirty) since they only remove the paper from the top of the table once you depart.
It took almost 45 minutes to order, and about 40 minutes after that we finally got our food. Well worth the wait but it shouldn’t take that long.
Entire party enjoyed our meal. Both food and service were outstanding. I highly recommend as a spot for dinner.
If you are looking for one of the best places to meet people for lunch or to have a nice dinner, don’t hesitate to visit Mon Ami Gabi. The cauliflower soup was outstanding, and the price fix lunch included a delicious piece of salmon and their scrumptious profiterole for dessert. An outstanding value for some of the finest food around. We can’t wait to go back!
Great Service overall, problem with a side, quickly remedied, but problem with an allergy issue was more concerning. Manager addressed situation...
Never disappointed. Courteous service and fresh meal
Mother daughter brunch
Every thing was excellent as usual!!! Keep on doing a great job!! Hopefully when weather gets little warmer we will enjoy our dinner outside and spend some quality time with friends and family at you restaurant!! Great meal great atmosphere great price and also great service all under one roof!!!
Judd and his staff always do a great job. Best fine dining experience in RTC
Had a delightful lunch here. Love the atmosphere and the staff was outstanding. The food is competently prepared and tasty. Will definitely come back. The value/prices are excellent.
The first time here was awesome. The second time was okay. This time was mediocre. The primary change was food quality. Front of house was very helpful.
For the price of a filet mignon, which comes with French fries, I'd as soon go to Morton's down the street, where the side dishes are actual side dishes. The four of us ordered a side of Brussels sprouts for $9.95 and got a small dish - about 1/3 of a cup - of them, not even a standard serving for one person.
My favorite Reston hangout! Great for an evening out with friends.
The service at Mon Ami Gabi never disappoints. I love the relaxed feel, especially for brunch. My quiche was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable without being intrusive. My husband was very happy with his steak sandwich and we both adored the butterscotch pots de crème recommended by our waiter. I can't wait to return and would not hesitate to host a group at the restaurant.
Amazing dinner and exceptional service. Thus was our 8th year conning to Reston for the holidays and we always come to Mon Ami Gabi for our special dinner. They have never disappointed us!
Food great, runners and bussers were fantastic, server could have been better
We always love Mon Ami and the bonus this time was getting Hernan, our favorite waiter!
Always have a great meal here and this lunch was no exception. Meal service was a bit faster than preferred between courses, otherwise, brilliant! Fish of the day and the chocolate salted caramel dessert were especially amazing! Thank you!
This is was my 2nd time at Mon Ami Gabi Reston (I visited once before, but it was years ago), and I was very disappointed by the experience. My three friends and I were there to celebrate our friend's birthday, and two of us arrived before the other two. We had two waiters, and the first one (a young guy) put a loaf of bread in a bag and some carrots in a bowl on our table with no explanation of what the carrots were and no instructions about the bread. I had to flag him down to ask if we could have some plates for the bread, because he didn't provide any, to ask if we were just supposed to rip the bread into pieces (since there were no knives), and to ask what the carrot concoction was. He apologized and gave us an explanation and brought some plates. Once our other two friends arrived, it took about 10 minutes for either waiter to notice their arrival and to bring over more water glasses. Then it took an additional 10 minutes or so before they asked for our orders, and I had to flag down Hernan (our main waiter) in order to get him to come take them down. My scallops were amazing, but there were only 4, which was disappointing, especially for the expensive price of 27.95. I don't recall either waiter coming over to check in to see if we needed anything throughout the meal. At one point, I asked the 2nd waiter if we could have more bread, and he said yes, but he never brought any more.
When we first arrived, I asked Hernan if Mon Ami Gabi did anything special for birthdays, since we were celebrating my friend's, and he said they offered a free dessert. At the end of our meal, they brought out the correct one, but then they charged me for it. If I hadn't double checked the bill, I would have paid $8.95 for a dessert that was supposed to be free. Hernan also didn't ask if we were paying separately, so I had to ask him to go back and split the bill for us. Overall, it was a very frustrating and disappointing experience, and I don't plan on coming back.
