Mon Ami Gabi - Reston Ratings and Reviews
Came for our 4 year anniversary and were very well taken care of. The waiter paid extra attention to us and the managers checked in on us periodically. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend Mon Ami Gabi Reston for special occasions as they truly made it memorable.
One of the worst experiences I’ve had dining out. Waiter was not attentive. Did not great us properly, did not take our menus after ordering. My son’s food came out burned . We returned it but he did not take it off the bill. My trout was not good either. Food overall tasted like it is from a buffet. Mom Ani Gabi is better in Batesda. Not coming to this location again.
Enjoyed brunch with my sister and my daughter on a Saturday afternoon. We had traveled to Paris together and wanted to bring back done if that memory. Mon Ami Gabi didn’t disappoint. We had cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert and everything was delicious. I had a half order of mussels and a seafood crepe, both full of flavor and cooked well. Others had escargot, salmon Benedict and crab Benedict. We had 3 different desserts and they were spectacular. It was a pricey meal, but a special occasion for us. I only gave 3 stars on ambience because the fire alarm sounded for about 15 minutes.
Wonderful place for special occasion celebration. Manager Willy is the best. He keeps this place humming and he made my birthday celebration happy, fun and memorable. David is a wonderful server. Fast, efficient and friendly. This is why I keep returning to dine here since they opened in Reston. Hope they stay forever.
Both my husband & I LOVED Mom Ami Gabi. The menu was great (even for my husband, who is gluten free) the wine list is terrific (all French wine, you can’t go wrong), and the service was good.
As an extra, every Sunday from 3-9pm, wines are 1/2 price by the bottle. (Yes, every bottle).
We would definitely recommend. My husband’s comment was “that was the best meal I’ve had in a while”.
Usually love this place. Find the daily specials to be very reliable. Was really disappointed in porterhouse pork chop.
I would still recommend. I think this experience was a one off.
Staff and management are, with the rare exception, warm and welcoming with excellent menu knowledge
This used to be my favorite restaurant, but it hasn’t not kept pace with the other options in the last few years. Menu has not changed much, very heavy on beef and pork with limited poultry options for those needing lighter fare. Hard to dine here if the entire group does not share the same palate. Salads are still very good, and they allow substitutions in the protein selection. Breakfast is the most limiting when it comes to options, if you opt for the bananas foster waffle ask for extra topping up front as it arrives in a separate serving dish and there is never enough in the bowl to ensure each bite of waffle has sauce on it.
We love Mon Ami Gabi, especially the hamburgers, they have always been perfect medium rare with awesome fries, however, this New Year, our hamburgers were overcooked and our waiter seemed overwhelmed, I did not complain since we were getting back our money via GC but this was The worse dining experience I ever had with Mon Ami.
We went to Mon Ami for New Years and had a lovely time. Great food and great drinks with impeccable service. It was a little loud which should be expected on New Years but we were in the mood for loud. We all loved our meals and would absolutely go back. As a plus they have a gluten free menu.
Onion soup was very salty (something most amateur chef are guilty of).
Young waiter needs to be better trained (to not through the spoons on the table when soups are served).
Sandwich steak and frites (French fries) were good.
Profiteroles shells were not fresh (dry)
The food was disappointing. I was born and raised in France, so I know all about thinly-cut steaks, but have never had a steak this thin, except on a Philly cheesesteak. It was about 1.5 mm thick, the thinnest I have ever had in any restaurant, in any country! I wanted it medium rare, not sure how they could have achieved that given it was so thin. The escargots' garlic butter was mostly clarified butter once it reached my table. Not the garlic butter I am used to, even at this particular restaurant. The fries were very good as alway, so were the green beans and sautéed mushrooms. Service was very good. Overall, not a great experience, will stick to the occasional casual lunch.
We went on Christmas eve. All was wonderful, except one vegetable meal came out undercooked (vegetables were hard and crunchy ). The waitress took it back to be cooked more and was apologetic and offered another meal. My daughter said that she'd just wait for her original meal to be cooked more. The rest of our group were mostly done by the time her meal came back out. We never complained, but we were given such nice treatment to help make up for it, that we left happy and impressed. ..my husband's wine glass was refilled, desert rolls with chocolate sauce and ice cream were delivered to the table and, when we paid, we were given a $25 gift card. That's what I call top notch customer service. Plus our meals were delicious.
Friendly; knowledgeable; & thoughtful service from staff and management.
The restaurant bathroom needs a little TLC and table linens should be reviewed after each meal (table linen next to us was dirty) since they only remove the paper from the top of the table once you depart.
If you are looking for one of the best places to meet people for lunch or to have a nice dinner, don’t hesitate to visit Mon Ami Gabi. The cauliflower soup was outstanding, and the price fix lunch included a delicious piece of salmon and their scrumptious profiterole for dessert. An outstanding value for some of the finest food around. We can’t wait to go back!
Every thing was excellent as usual!!! Keep on doing a great job!! Hopefully when weather gets little warmer we will enjoy our dinner outside and spend some quality time with friends and family at you restaurant!! Great meal great atmosphere great price and also great service all under one roof!!!
