We were looking for quiet intimate dinner and we got that and more! Food and service was excellent. Wine list quiet extensive and we really enjoyed the French ambiance and quiet music. Lovely relaxing time. Plus waiter gave us complimentary dessert as first time quests. Great attention to detail
Our Waiter , and the staff were superb ! The food , cocktails , and wine were equally superb ! Have not been to Mon Ami Gabi in a while. I will go back again soon !
Excellent food, great service, extensive wine selection. The outdoor patio is wonderful in the summer with fans adding to the slight breeze. We both had the steak with hand cut fries. A taste of France in Reston. Wonderful server added to the ambiance. Very accommodating and highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back
Love the escargots (sand and all) and frites. Perfect outdoor seating
Nothing special. Good, but not outstanding quality of food. Service was OK.
Loved the food and the service! The wine list is great as well. The only complaint I have is the noise level is very high. I had a difficult time hearing my date, but no problem hearing the couple at the table next to me.
There was nothing French about this place, a truly disappointing experience. The food was served lukewarm and the presentation was comparable to a roadside taco joint. The server was uninformed and inattentive - it seemed he had been brought over from IHOP that morning. I have been to this place before, they seem to be striving for quantity rather than quality.
Avoid this restaurant at all costs, especially if one is going there for a special occasion. My wife and I checked in for our reservation 15 minutes early and the rude, unfriendly host did not bother to one acknowledge our reservation by looking it up on his computer and two made us feel as if we were dogsh*t scrapped off of his shoe. He first informed us that we were too early for dinner (dinner started at 4 pm and we arrived at 3:45 pm), we then stated that we will return if this would make it easier. He stated that no we did not have to leave, but kept asking us if we wanted to sit outside and each time we told him that we preferred an indoor table. The restaurant was virtually empty having only 2 other groups in the dining area while the bar area was doing good business. Once seated, he stated again we were too early for dinner, by the time we actually got to order it was 3 minutes after 4 so we were able to order dinner without having concerns that the dinner items were not available. We were provided with bread that was so stale it crumbled instead of tearing when separated with our hands (no knife or cutting surface provided to cut the bread). The server did the absolute minimum service possible, refilled our water once each and never bothered to check to see how our dinners were. We received an email from OpenTable asking us why we were no shows; I responded we were there, the restaurant failed to even bother to verify our reservations. We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday and this went from an expected nice dinner to one that will always be remembered as one of the worst starting with the conflict with the host, to whom we were very cordial and respectful, the host, as stated earlier, treated us like crap. My wife wanted to leave, but I was hoping that maybe the restaurant would redeem itself in its service, it failed miserably. The food was very good, but the rest of the restaurant left much to be desired. Avoid at all costs!!
Had not been here in a while, food was good but not as good as I remember. Patio seating was nice but did took a really long time - they did give us a complimentary appetizer to make up for it.
Steaks were not cooked according to request. I asked for Med Rare, received Well Done. The other 2 colleagues of mine had similar experience. There are too many other restaurants in the area for me to recommend this place. Would suggest looking elsewhere.
We’ve been dining here for years. Never a disappointment.
The food, presentation and service was superb. Highly recommend
Delicious food, fantastic staff and service -- wonderful seating outside! Highly recommended.
Aside from our waiter who had a bad attitude and seemed almost angry, the food was great and the location and atmosphere are perfect.
I love MAG, and not just for special occasions (but it's good for that, too). The service is attentive without being intrusive, the food is consistently excellent, and the cocktails are worth the calories. A+
Had a nice evening with great service and wonderful food. Steak Bernaise was excellent. Seating was not the best but it was busy at the time.
Authentic French cuisine. One of the best restaurants I've eaten at in the Washington DC area.
The most important feature of Mona Ami Gabi is that it is reliable. We invited a couple of friends who were in town on a overnight stopover as part of a international trip. They were greatly impressed by the service, the food and the wine list.
I always feel comfortable when I invite friend to Mon Ami Gabi. I am sure it will meet my and my friends expectations.
We had a great dinner and a fabulous server (Jo Jo) at the Reston location
Server failed to coordinate and time... main dishes were served before finishing the appetizers.. Fries were cold and a little stale...
We were a little disappointed... previous experiences at the same location was much better...
This may be a chain restaurant (albeit a small chain), but the hanger steak I had was the best steak of any cut that I've enjoyed in a long time. My friends also liked everything they ordered.
I was very disappointed in our waitress. We took our friends there for a Sunday Supper to celebrate their up and coming cruise to Europe. They had never been before. When we were finished eating, our server rushed to clear our tables while our friend was still eating her dinner. She continued with the brushing off the table of crumbs. took our glassware, extra plates, all while my friend continued to eat her dinner. As my friend was bringing a bite of steak to here mouth, server asked if she was thru eating. I found this to be quite rude and frankly, quite embarrassing, as we were taking our friends there for their first time. When we told her that we did not want dessert or coffee, she immediately gave us our check, which was fine, but she continued to circle around our table until the moneys were given to her.
Not sure that I will take any more friends there for a first time experience.
We went for brunch. Our eggs benedict wear average at best, but the worst thing was the service. Our server rarely checked on us and we didn't even get a coffee refill despite asking for one. We also found the prices to be quite High, especially for drinks. Would not recommend.
It was pretty good.
Skirt steak was well prepared, tender, not particularly flavorful but topped with some sort of herb butter I'm not familiar with that helped. Fries were short and crispy, not seasoned heavily but in a good flavored oil. Food was good and filling, coffee was nice and fruity for the morning. It was a nice brunch.
The quality has gone downhill. The “warm” baguette they serve you at the beginning was cold and stale this time. Steak frites just not the same.
It was a great atmosphere. Food selections were on point
Total enjoyable experience all around - great food and services.
Wonderful food. Great service. Loved it, as always. Steak was cooked perfectly, abc my husband really enjoyed the duck special.
The food is consistently good bistro style ...my favorite style of French cooking.
Mon Ami Gabi is our go-to restaurant in Reston. It's great for meeting friends or family dining on an early Sunday evening . The food is good and the wait staff are very accommodating and helpful. Best in Reston.
Went here for Sunday Brunch, with our service dog. We got a patio spot :)
They brought us a bagette with jelly and butter...mmmm....carbs!
I ordered the Peace Treaty cocktail. It's a gin based drink. More about this later... for food, I got the Crème Brulee French Toast. My boyfriend got eggs and bacon. I know, why did he get that? If I knew that's what he was going to eat, we might as well cooked at home! Just kidding. The bacon was good and thick.
Tip: Don't order the Peace Treaty and something sweet to eat, the flavors do not pair well.
Since this was our first time here, they brought us a complimentary dessert. My boyfriend ordered the Bread Pudding. It came with raspberries and blackberries inside of it. It was delicious!
Really enjoyed our brunch, the weather even cooperated with us!
We got sat at a less than desirable table on the patio at first, but were reseated when we mentioned it. One of the managers also reached to apologize and thank us for our continued patronage. A small detriment to the overall experience, but not worth missing out on future visits.
Great food and experience as always
Dinner with old friends, the service was excellent!
The food and service were great. It may be a small chain, but it doesn't mean the food suffers. The tuna was flavorful and seared just right. It may not be what we would think of as high end classic French, but it is wonderful as a bistro.
They took my reservation for 8:30, but clearly my server was not happy. I had an appetizer of oysters and the was going to place my dinner order. The waiter told me to hurry as he needed to leac.
The egg white omelet was lackluster. I would not recommend!
Wonderful greeting by the host and seated right away. I like everything about this restaurant, food is very good and staff is friendly. Will always be a go-to restaurant for lunch.
