Excellent Again! Lunch Staple when in RTC. I will be back
Always a great dining experience.
Never been disappointed!!
Great place to celebrate special occasion
Our table was ready and waiting for us on a crowded Saturday night. Service was super-attentive, we never had an empty water glass. Meats were cooked to perfection; portion sizes were not lacking; everything we've come to expect from Mon Ami Gabi.
Wonderful all around!
Although we had a reservation we waited over 30 minutes to be seated. Server was okay, not great. Food was mediocre. There are much better options around the town center with more polite staff & better food!
Good as always
Way too noisy and servers are rushing customers so they can sit more people right away. Not the type of ambience you expect of a French restaurant.
I patronize Mon Ami Gabi 2 to 3 times a year.... have always enjoyed the meals and the service . This time brunch was a little bit off. It didn’t help that the table next to us was a group of seven or eight very loud people but that is not the restaurants fault… They were so loud we actually had trouble hearing each other at our table. I normally get the steak Benedict which has been very good but this time the steak had an odd taste to it and I didn’t eat it. And the food was barely warm when we got it. I had a gift card so I didn’t make a big deal out of it but this was not up to par for this restaurant.
Wife’s birthday...our waiter Wills does a great job of sharing info and making recommendations...he has been our waiter on three occasions...keep him
I was so delighted to see that Doug is now a server at Mon Ami Gabe. He is my all time favorite server in the entire area. He possesses so much experience and knowledge that his equal is hard to find. Congrats.....and people...ask for Doug's station...you will not be sorry. Oh, and the food was spectacular too!
Seating is a little tight and more typical of a big city dining experience as opposed to a restaurant in the suburbs. We had a table for 3 and was crowded in with a table for 2 on each side of us. In fact one of the tables was configured in a such way that they faced us from the corner. Private conversation is not possible given the tight config of the tables. Waitstaff was less than fully attentive and did make small errors. One of us sent back an under-cooked steak and it seemed to take a long time to be corrected. The check also had an error that needed correcting. All of this and not even a free coffee as good gesture. Overall though not a bad place to dine...
We eat at Mon Ami Gabi (MAG) occasionally, along with several other Reston restaurants. MAG is probably our favorite. The food is always good, and frequently interesting. For example, I had Eggs Benedict with a Beef-in-Burgundy base - after finishing that, I was ready for an entire bowl!
They have what I believe to be the best French Bread in the D.C. area.
Service is usually prompt and attentive.
And prices for menu items are reasonable.
Of our favorite restaurants in Reston, three are LEYE restaurants. They are certainly doing something right.
Service was bad and loud. Can't even have a conversation. Tables are too close to each other.
I have "dined" there for years, and always found it "good" if not always "great". This tiime, however, they stuffed us into a side room used as a cafe/market during the day. A TV was showing game shows, and the cafe was hidden with temporary black drapes. Tacky about covers it. I did talk to a manager and he kindly comp'd us, and I took good care of the waiter. My point in saying this is to recommend you ALWAYS insist on being seated in the main dining area - not the bar or back room, unless you are just want to eat instead of "dine". The staff were nice, but this is a bad management decision.
The food is fantastic - we just ask that they return to the original frites.
Always a great place for delicious food and great service!
Unfortunately it is very loud, there is no need to have music blasting
Somewhat slow service, cold French fries, noisy, nice free bday treat!
Always consistent quality and service
Great waiter and reliably good fare!
We took my husband's daughter there for a birthday dinner. Service was great from the front door in. The waitstaff was attentive w/o being intrusive & we were never w/o refilled glasses of whatever we were drinking.
The food was awesome. Daughter had scallops & loved them. Dad had some kind of steak & really enjoyed it. I had a great pear & endive salad - it was delightful.
If I could make one suggestion it would be that when they box any leftovers they include any part of that great loaf of bread. It's too good to be whisked away with the plates.
Thanks for a very nice evening, Mon ami!
I used to love this place but they changed the way they do steak frites. Now it's a flat dray piece of meat. To serve it medium rare as I asked for would be impossible. The presentation of our meal highlighted the problem. The only thing on the plate was the meat. Very iHop. Mon Ami still very popular, so obviously others are not as fixated on that as I, though steak is 1/3 of the menu. I like the chicken live mousse appetizer. Still great with their delicious bread.
Good food. Service was also good but lacked something. Our server was attentive but seemed to have an attitude. We felt rushed.
Love the atmosphere.
Mon Ami always is a hit, whether it be for lunch, dinner or brunch. A friend and I were able to have a glass of wine and lunch outside, a very rare warm February day!
Great food and great service. On a busy Sunday, holiday weekend, dinner day, with son in tow, we were lucky to have a reservation. While the hostess was on the phone, a manager stepped in quickly to greet and seat us. I assumed the staff in business casual gear, not in uniforms, were managers. Dinner service was a little slow for some but we enjoyed the pace. And as busy as it was, We weren’t rushed and we received great service. Our first steak was over cooked but was quickly replaced. Everyone there was working hard to make our dining experience and enjoyable one. To me, this is how a restaurant should operate. Food was amazing too. Looking forward to going again.
Holiday weekend busy for a Sunday night. Our food took forever, and the two steaks were cold as was the sauce. Our daughters trout was perfect. Clearly the steaks had to wait on the fish. I was very disappointed. It has been a while since we were there and I was excited as it used to be our favorite. My husband won't go back anytime soon. I used to go for an early lunch on the weekend so perhaps it's better when they are not busy.
Wonderful service, great experience
Our waiter got our order completely wrong which was frustrating. Once we explained the food delivered to the table was not what we asked for, it was approximately 10 minutes until the correct meals arrived. The food was delicious.
Food and service was good but who decided to seat a family with small kids next to the table reserved for people celebrating their anniversary? Lack of attention to detail. When I complained about it no-one cared or did anything. I didn't enjoy my anniversary dinner sitting next to shrieking kids.
We were a party of 4 and we all had a lovely time. All the staff members including host and waitress, and all servers were very nice and did a great job. The drinks were perfect and the food was delicious. We had a good time and definitely plan to go back soon.
Unfortunately, we were there to celebrate and we were disappointed with the evening. We special ordered appetizers - no love was put into it. We ordered steaks and they were over cooked. All and all, we feel as if the food and service has become inconsistent.
Food was great as always and our server was outstanding...he was fun but on his game. We were out with friends and had a great time.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We recieved a gift card so we decided to use it for valentines. What an incredible experience. Good old fashioned customer service! Our waiter David was so helpful and very attentive. He was amazing! We will ask for him next time. The food was perfect. We chose the steak and it was cooked perfectly the way we liked it. And I love the way my water glass was continually being filled!
Overall a wonderful experience and we plan on coming back even without the gift card!
Estaphani is awesome!
Went for dinner and ended up just ordering cocktails and apps - it was all amazing and the waitress was on point; this was also on Valentine's day - I can't imagine going on a night when they're not incredibly busy. If you're thinking about going, stop thinking and just book it.
Good food from start to finish!
My husband and I are regulars at Mon Ami Gabi. We love the athmosphere, the food and the service is always superb. Our favorite Sever is Herman. He’s the best!
Went to a very early dinner. There were only about 4 or 5 tables occupied, yet the hostess sat us down between two full tables -- our table was only about 3 inches away from the other occupied tables. Because the restaurant was empty, we could hear the conversations at those tables easily (and they could hear us). Was kind of awkward. Have no idea why they insisted they pack us together when 95% of the restaurant was empty (it was only 4:00).
The food is pretty fresh and well prepared. The happy hour menu offers better deals though. The stripped bass special I had was delicious, but I thought the portion was on the small side.
