Service was less than par. Salmon was over cooked when the temperature was requested med rare.
We went there tonight to celebrate my father’s Birthday. We really liked the ambiance, but the quality of food and the service were really bad. We ordered a burger, steak and some seafood. Overall the quality of seafood was acceptable, but the burger and the steak were really bad. The burger came burnet outside and completely rare inside, even though we asked for a medium-we’ll burger. We had to wait for 15 minutes for our server to come and check our table to change the burger. Then we waited for another 20 minutes for the new burger. That being said, one guest at the table had to wait for about 40 minutes, for the burger, while everyone else was working with their food. The steak came super cold and chewy, and not the even close to the quality of steak that you would expect from a good restaurant. Overall we did not enjoy our visit, and we will not come back again for sure.
Overall, the food was good but way over priced. The last time we were there, the price for a steak was $19.99 now it's over $28.00. The biggest disappointment was the fries served with the steak. The potato fries used to be shoestring and now they are servicing regular fries. Not as crispy and not as good. Also, they used to give you free bread, now you have to pay for it. The value for the meal is not what it used to be.
It’s tough to find restaraunt employees now. My service expectations reflect this fact. 45 minutes after sitting we got our soup and salad. Both literally takes a minute to prepare. Apparently the kitchen lost our “food ticket.” This is not a lack of employee problem but a server and kitchen staff process issue.
Then the kitchen rushed the entrees. 1/3 of the mussels we ordered had not opened which is because they were undercooked. The kitchen staff has to look at the food before it leaves the kitchen.
The staff apologized and adjusted the bill. That was appreciated. Much better if you screwup, don’t compound it.
We were disappointed in the Brie crepes as it did not indicate that they were literally smothered in sauce. The other crepes were also not terribly hot. Overall though, a good meal and a beautiful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Excellent as always. The manager works his tail off to make sure all guests are tended to and satisfied.
Food is delicious and service spot on !
This used to be one of favorite restaurants during the last 10 years in Reston —but oh my, has the quality gone down! The service was very poor. The wait staff meant well- but seemed very amateur on how to serve and attend a table. Dirty plates were left on the table as we began a new course. The food was not good. The halibut was very expensive and very dry. We will not be returning here
Nice food, nice service and overall good time.
The food was decent but the beef Wellington could have used more seasoning. The fact that it was a specialty meal made it more disappointing that it wasn’t as flavorful as expected. I do recommend the escargot!
Fantastic food, great service, and a wonderful surprise dessert on the house. My toddler absolutely enjoyed it. A wonderful first experience!
The combination of great French food and outstanding service made for a wonderful evening out.
First time at the restaurant. Overall good experience but my steak came out closer to medium rare and I ordered medium. Nonetheless, tasty food, bread and wine.
Fantastic service, great food. Wonderful evening!
Always great. Visited dozens of tines, never once disappointed or even had an issue I can remember. Great management, great food.
Nice place to eat for any reason.
a great Saturday lunch. Classic french meal with very good service..
As always, the food was good. Service was very slow and somewhat apathetic. No acknowledgement of my daughter’s birthday, which I had made note of in the reservation.
Excellent service & meal as wonderful as usual.
Quality has declined. My steak was undercooked and the fries cold. My wife's salad plate was smeared with grease around the edges. The salad itself was mediocre. Her soup was delivered late. A pasta option for vegetarians is off the menu. Formerly free bread now costs $2 a loaf.
perfect place for classic French; mussels, salad, bone-in ribeye and a nice bottle of red wine!
The wait staff is so strong and the food is always excellent
I flew into Dulles airport from out of town for the day in order to meet with family who were visiting from overseas We sat outside and throughly enjoyed our leisurely… over two hour… lunch, especially the chocolate mousse. I’m glad Mon Ami Gabi is as great as I remembered
Terrible experience! The waiter (trying to be funny maybe?) kept teasing and making fun of my friend's 16 yo daughter to the point of it being really creepy and uncomfortable for her and the rest of us. Took over an hour to just get drinks to the table (coffee, tea and coke). Got our food orders completely wrong and insisted that he was right, kept arguing (No! This IS what you ordered!), then checked his notes and said "oh, sorry, you're right." The croque monsieur was nothing more than a dry ham and cheese, no sauce, with stale, cold fries on the side. Can't remember a worse dining experience.
Our waiter, Steve, was great. Very attentive, very personable.
Menus change offers limited choices.
The server was not rude but did not make us feel like welcomed guests. The only reason we tipped him 28% was we felt leaving less would validate the reluctance of waiting on black dinners
Service for our large group was terrific as always!! Thanks!
This was the second straight time we were very disappointed. Not planning to return.
Food ok but not great. They add a $3 surcharge to your bill. 😡
The food disappointing, the quiche was almost burnt on top yet undercooked inside, the baguette tasted like sourdough and the profiterole puffs were hard and the chocolate sauce thick and bland. Champagne and coffee were good and we loved our waiter and the rest of the waitstaff.
Thank you Enand for great service!
Great food and impeccable service equal a wonderful evening! You will not go wrong choosing to dine here!
It was a pretty quiet lunch service when we arrived. Staff was doing a great job with masking and social distancing tables.
Anna was a great waitress. We were from another state and was told by friends that Mon Ami Gabi would be a great place to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary . So, I booked on Open Table. My husband meal was fine.. He had the skirt steak. Actually his steak was more tender than my Filet Mignon . I was so looking forward to my garlic escargot. Well, couldn't taste any garlic and basically all I could taste was the pesto on the escargot. Didn't want to wait for another steak to be cooked so, I remained quiet. No, mention of our anniversary. This is the first time going to a restaurant for a special occasion and no mention of our day .
The waiter forgot my ice tea, we ask 2 other waiters then a manager came by and gave us one. It took 45 minutes to get us our drinks. The food was cold that was suppose to be hot. The food took more than an hour to be served and the attitude of the staff was arrogant. We will never come back.
The baked goat cheese appetizer was the best thing ever
The duck appetizer was fantastic and the bread was good although they charged for it which seemed odd for a higher end resturaunt. I got a ribeye and my wife got filets which came out over cooked. The next attempt had temperature closer to correct although still slightly over , and my steak had a fair amount of untrimmed gristle. Both my Ribeye and my wife's fillet were OK but not fantastic for the price. Very disappointing after the delicious appetizers. Great service, good atmosphere, They either need better entrees or lower prices.
Overall, it was fair/ok. The salad and dessert were good. The steak frites was unimpressive, and chewy; it was a big disappointment. The most unpleasant part was finding a lemon pit in my glass of coke with no lemon (Yuck!). I have no plans to return any time soon.
Really poor service this time. Previously service has been great but maybe the waiter was preoccupied. Poor service quality included not bringing a spoon for the French onion soup until we asked and five minutes later got one. Also, waiter did not ask if we needed any sauces/ketchup for our steak and frites. Took more than 15 minutes to get our drinks. Not good service this time. Disappointing service.
Attentive service, delicious and wide variety of food, and amazing steak!
