Service and food were very good. Went to their happy hour first and had a couple of appetizers before dinner (mussels and french onion soup) which were very good too.
The food was delicious and the service was quick and efficient. I would definitely get back and recommend it to others.
The service and the food were excellent ! We were there for our anniversary and everything was perfect. Highly recommend !
We moved to the area mid-COVID and found this place right away. I have enjoyed the trout almandine every time. My husband has ordered every steak on the menu and never been disappointed . Temps checked at the door - tables distanced, always quiet, diligent servers .
Horrible wine, was early to seat but an hour to get a waiter to come over. Steak was bland . Just really bad .
A very nice restaurant with great food and service. Well adjusted to the current situation. The only minor complaint, which is basically taste related, the food was a bit salty to our taste.
We went for my wife's birthday, Saturday 1/3. It was quiet, understandably. We sat outside in the unheated tent because we really wanted to be away from other diners. The restaurant is super serious about precautions -- they took our temperature when we showed up, tons of signs everywhere, santitizer, good distance between tables, waiter maintained his distance as much as he could. All good there.
The food was great. I gut mussels and soup of the day. My wife got steak frites. The only negative was the soup of the day arrived lukewarm. It was delish and I didn't really want to have someone come back to refresh it. It is expensive, but I feel the food is high quality and service is terrific.
Dinner was delicious, as always.
Brunch menu on your phone is more limited than the paper copy we asked for. Disappointed that a full complement of garnishes was not available for Bloody Mary's (due to COVID Protocols), which would have been nice on New Year's Day. Portions of food were ample and we both had to take some home to enjoy later.
My husband and I got rushed we only had 45 min to eat. Horrible service.
Why do they do a reservation so late and server just rushes you to eat and order. Horrible service😡
Great first time here; staff was accommodating and knowledgeable in what is offered on menus (wine, regular dinner and specials).
Excelente atención y comida
We visited this restaurant for the first time pre-pandemic based on a recommendation from a good friend. We hosted visitors from Arkansas and had such a wonderful time we couldn’t wait to get back, especially for the lunch Steak Frites Special. This time was different and disappointing. First the waiter had spilled wine on the outside of our glasses and we couldn’t drink any without spilling on ourselves. The lady who brought our water was near and she brought paper napkins so we could soak up the mess. The soiled napkins were there until the end of the meal. This was the first time in my memory (I am 81- and French) that I ever found French Onion Soup lacking salt, of all things. The waiter brought salt and told us he mentioned it to the Chef. We ordered the steak medium rare but they were both well done. We told the waiter who brought us the Manager who had new steaks done for us. That was better but the seasoning with peppercorns was still overdone in spite of our mentioning it to the Manager when she took our first steaks back to the kitchen. When we got the check the waiter said one of the glasses of wine had been taken off because of our complaints. We did appreciate having the steaks redone and our bill amended, but our experience was bittersweet compared to our visit in February 2020. I know we will go back again, just because this restaurant has so much potential.

professional and helpful staff, extensive menu, tasty food, good coffee at end
MOG is one of my favorite restaurants! Felt totally safe during this crazy Covid time. Our table was well distanced from others, waiter and servers wore masks, took our temp at the door. Wonderful dining experience.
The outside place looks like a simple tend with a lot of holes and was so cold!
It’s my third time at this location and I’m disappointed all the time! I just moved to this area so, I was looking for a good French restaurant (I’m French) and Jeez I need to find another one. The service was awful, the server forgot to bring my drink and didn’t even mention it until I left. There was a group of 6 sitting on the other side of the restaurant, there were extremely loud and no-one did bother to tell them to bring it down! It seemed like it was some cheap bar you go to! I was at st Regis lounge in dc couple hours before and I wish their restaurant was open so I could’ve just stayed there. At Mon Ami Gabi, The food was awful, I had the classic steak frites. The steak was super thin and poorly seasoned, the fries? Super burnt! Overall I was super disappointed and had an awful time. I went there for my 28th birthday and what a mistake!
Great restaurant. Food was excellent, wait staff was outstanding. We'll be back.
Excelente comida!
Mon Ami Gabe has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Reston, taking clients, friends and family and over the years....all have enjoyed their time there.
We made reservations and while the staff was a skeleton one, they tried so hard to please as there were only three other tables of diners. This stupid Covid-19 situation is killing the best part of civility and culture. The people who are making these broad based rules (which they do not follow) are going to be death of the restaurant business. My heart goes out to anyone that braves the masks, the drive and the empty restaurants to make a concerted effort to patronize them...they deserve it.
Food good as always. Restaurant has spaced out tables nicely for Covid. We went on a Sunday at 6:30 and there were only 2 other tables occupied. Too bad more people aren't out dining.
Family always enjoys our trips to Mon Ami Gabi. Only thing that was off was the ambiance and not their fault. The lively gathering experience was muted somewhat by the COVID requirements that we must all follow. Even with this, we plan to return soon.
The sauces on the steak were not wonderful. Not a ton of taste in the peppercorn or red wine. Steak was good quality. I would prefer the thin sliced frites but these were just regular fries. The service was amazing, just thought for the price the food was average. Covid precautions were excellent. They have hand sanitizers, everyone is wearing masks and they take temp. Seating was far apart...felt very safe. Mussels were really good and onion soup was great...pretty large serving.
Very good food, reasonably priced and good Covid protections! Open outdoor tent with good spacing.
All was great.
I eat here frequently for dinner and it is always great. This brunch was terrible, crepe was burnt. Ordered juice it never came. Waiter could not be understood and was not helpful.
Mon Ami’s French martinis are the best around ! So glad the restaurant added the tents and out door heaters so I can continue to visit . Food is always great !
First time visiting and it was memorable. Service and food was excellent and the desert was a WOW. Will eat here again.
As usual, very good meal and dining experience. Only regret is the current lack of chocolate souffle as a dessert option that will hopefully return eventually.
Birthday lunch. Outside dining. Impressed with all covid safeguards.
Another good evening at Mon Ami Gabi. I like that they're taking advantage of outdoor dining for distancing - and that the wait staff was excellent. The food was great as usual.
We were celebrating our recent wedding. Service was subpar and slow. Soup we ordered was cold and did not taste good. Drinks took a long time to get to the table. Mussels were delicious. The skate entree and steak frites classique were subpar. Our entrees were delivered literally one minute after our appetizer. We were really underwhelmed by the experience.
We had a lovely dinner outside on the patio in RTC on a warm November Sat. night.
Last Sat Nov 07 - My friend & I had an early dinner @ Mon Ami Abi in Reston.
We loved the French cuisine & the ambiance but the service truly was disappointing.
We had to ask 3 different waiters at least 2-3 times for everything otherwise we would just wait for awhile...simply- we get no service!
It was not that busy Sat. We sat outdoor. Anyhow- I would have given a 5 stars but I could only give a 3 to service! Chef deserves 5-STARS!!
Thank you!
I have been coming to Mon Ami for years and have always enjoyed my experience but this last visit I did. It. My server was not attentive at all. I had to request what the specials were and he really did not seem interested in assisting me. I ordered the filet with Bordeaux butter, one of my favorites and it wasn’t great. It seems as if management has changed as well but I hope this was a one time occurrence and not the new normal.
This is a great restaurant and they have been in business for years. The service was excellent. The food was very good although the menu is rather limited. The drinks were outstanding, made as order and definitely not diluted. Caesar salad and bone in ribeye were prepared to perfection.
Late afternoon reservation for a business luncheon. Service was good (was surprised crumbs were not removed from table cloth between courses). Overall good service and meal.
friendly, professional staff. Great food. Good value.
We always enjoy Mon Ami in Reston. Great management and service, solid and tasty food. It is our go-to place!
Great food, and my waiter Doug was wonderful! He made great suggestions and was very helpful!
