Great food we had outdoors. Surprisingly quiet next to the parking lot (quieter than indoors)
The salmon on a bed of spinach was outstanding But the service was a little slow because of the server. Nice kid but slow.
Service was extremely slow but she was very busy and working very hard. Also, apologetic. Miss the “thin crispy steak frittes” because now you serve steak & “French fries”. :/
Steven was an outstanding and personable server. The trout was amazing, as we knew it would be from many past visits. Hope you can bring back the Dover sole on Fridays sometime. Thanks for a beautiful dinner experience -- Mon Ami Gabi is rocking it during the Covid-19 pandemic!
Perfect lunch date. Food and drinks were great! Our server was amazing too.
Consistently great food and service.
Great service! Delicious and well presented food! Noise level a bit too high.
When I want a good filet mignon, I head to Mon Ami Gabi. Not to mention the LEYE points. I love this place.
Have dined here many times and the food is consistently good. Menu is simple and authentic with seasonal specials. Ambience is intimate and inviting, decent patio. Our waiter Mark provided excellent service--knowledgeable, efficient and friendly without being intrusive. A very relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Always an enjoyable experience! Great service. Great menu.
Came here with a friend for her birthday. Called before I came to make sure they had vegan options that weren’t simply side dishes and I was assured the chef could make something special for my friends birthday (he told me it’s often a pasta dish) and we were willing to spend the extra money since it wasn’t on the menu. The chef put green beans, broccolini (undercooked), mushrooms, and asparagus lined up on a plate after I was told that the chef would be able to make a nice dish for her. I wish I would’ve taken a picture. The manager came over and his attitude was less than nice and he was slightly condescending with his responses—especially after explaining the situation and being as polite as possible he assured me this was “what they normally do for vegans” so he “didn’t know what to tell us”. He offered to ask the chefs to make something different but his attitude made my friend upset (with good reason) and she no longer wanted to stay. I ordered the Caesar with chicken and the French onion soup. Our food took 40 minutes to come out, My salad came out incorrect so my server sent it back, and the soup never came. Our server was awesome, but other than that the experience was disappointing, especially for a birthday, and especially after making the extra effort to call and ask if they were able to accommodate someone vegan. I’ve been to the location in the city and have had nothing but great experiences there, but this was terrible and really missed the mark.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT. I WOULDN'T CONSIDER ANYWHERE ELSE, TO CELEBRATE. CAN'T WAIT TILL THEY GO BACK TO A FULL MENU THOUGH.
Good food and service!
First time that my wife and I have eaten here. Early dinner so not overly crowded or noisy.
Service was good, attentive, professional, friendly and not rushed.
Food was excellent with pricing as expected.
Wait staff wore masks which was good. We did as well while entering and using the facilities.
Toward the end of the meal there were more people dining. Tables were spaced adequately for this time. Noise was still low which is good for conversation with my slightly aged hearing.
Would come again.
Only ambiance negative was trucks making deliver right outside of the restaurant next to the outside dining. Otherwise, great!
I have gone to the restaurant for many years Lincoln Park when we moved to Oak Brook I was thrilled they were here and it has always been my favorite. Unfortunately I have to say the food (& I tend to order my favorites a lot) has gone down hill a bit over the last six months. I keep hoping it will improve to what it was . . . the service is generally always good and pleasant
I ordered from the Pre Fix menu. Unfortunately the French Onion soup came out luke warm. They graciously took it back to remake. The second time it came out their was barely any of the melted cheese on top.Again, they took it back. Third time was a charm, it came out perfect. The rest of the meal was quite good.Service was a bit slow considering the restaurant was not very busy. Also, I think the 3% surcharge is insulting for Lettuce Entetain Organization to still be charging customers.
First visit to this establishment Pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere, food and service.
The Pre Fixe menu is an excellent value and highly recommended fdor lunch.
Will definitely return for dinner soon great experience.
We went to celebrate my mother’s 82 birthday. The service was very efficient though not as friendly as might have been warranted for such an occasion. The food was okay. I had what looked like frozen peas that were somewhat overcooked on my Salmon dish. The sauce and the broccoli was perfect! I was a bit surprised on our experience based on the great ratings.
Very good food and server was on the ball. We were sat next to the party room, very loud!
As we walked in the door, we just knew it was going to be great experience. We were walked over to a large table, which is great compared to a two top, where you have no room for anything extra like bread, menus and drinks. Our server had been with the restaurant for over 20 years, which immediately just lets you know he knows the score. My wife and I had two of their signature drinks which were fantastic! For the appetizers, we had two of the French Onion Soups, wow! We then had their Mussels, which were so good that my wife and I were drinking the broth like soup, it really was that good. For dinner, she got the the filet mignon and so got the strip steak. Both were so tasty and cooked to perfection. I must admit we might have filled up on the bread which was served right out of gate, soooo crunchy and still hot! We will be back.
The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and on point. Good is good.
In general if you want French cuisine this is a good starting point, they have all the popular choices for the beginner or if you want French flavor but are concerned if you would like it.
The menu is really good and the service is excellent, the waiter will advice you of the best choice for your pállate and help you pair the right drink with your food.
Noise level is high, but I was next to a large bridal party.
Went specifically for the French Toast and I was soooo happy I did! Best French toast I have ever had!! Can’t wait to go back again!
My steak was outstanding , and my server very accommodating. We will be back.
Service and food excellent - nice expanded outdoor dining. Thanks for a great night!
Even though we had a reservation for 4 people, when we came in we were told the reservation was only for 2 people. Even though there were plenty of tables available, we were seated in the banquet room at the last table against the wall, why , we do not understand?
We are frequent customers if Mon Ami we were so disappointed ☹️
Lovely lunch spot. I love the traditional, old-world vibe with white tableclothes, delicious food and attentive servers.
I was enjoying lunch with my granddaughter and our server made both of us feel very special she could not have been kinder to the young one, and she deserves a special treat
It was only okay. Service was lacking. I can't believe they sell you bread and then present it in a paper bag with no knife. Apparently you're supposed to rip this baguette apart with your hands. How about bringing it out on a cutting board with a knife?
I finally got the server's attention to ask for coffee when we were already finished with our dessert. Then the coffee was absolutely awful. Very bitter and old tasting.
The food itself was good.
Great service, great food. Ate outside which was delightful.
Mark our server was excellent and personable.
It was my birthday brunch but I felt the server was more attentive to other tables then to ours so very disappointing. Also when the reservation was made it was stated it was my birthday and I don’t know if the restaurant just does not do anything for birthdays
Excellent, we will be back!!!
We arrived five minutes before our reservation time (6:00 pm), which the hostess confirmed our Open Table reservation. We requested, if it was possible, to have a table on their outdoor patio. SUCCESS! We scored the last table at this sitting. Mon Ami Gabi is well-known for their baguettes, so that was a MUST….and “they” did not disappoint. Just rip the bread to our individual portions and enjoy. Next, their famous French onion soup….a classic. We each had two beers that went down so easily. Next, the filet mignons (2) were cooked to our designated temperature. We ordered a side dish of spinach, with garlic, which was delicious. The waiter made our dining experience, this evening, quite special. He even cleared the bread crumbs off the table.
Dessert was next which completed our dining experience.
We even ordered a baguette to go! *
Food was excellent as usual! I had the trout almandine and my husband had the filet. we both had the Cesar salad too, and he had the French onion soup which he said was delicious and it smelled so good. From the moment we walked in everyone was extremely nice.
My wife's birthday celebration. She was very happy
The host, Mr. Diaz as well as our server Mark T were very accommodating and gave our group lots of time to enjoy our lunch. Food and drink excellent as always.
With so many restuarants struggling post-pandemic, I have been resetting expectations. However, Mon Ami Gabi exceeded my expectations today. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was very good. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
We had great service as they kindly help us celebrate our anniversary. Amazing food!
