Food is consistently very good. Enjoyed our service with our favorite server, Eileen.
This is my favorite in the Oak Brook area .
Always good - escargot and steak frites - oui s’il vous plait !
Service was good, food was good. All in all a fabulous experience.
Looked forward to a fresh baguette and excellent food, was not disappointed. Tables are a little tight but at the same time we had a 7:30 pm open table reservation on a Friday night, arrived at 7:20 pm and were seated immediately. The prime steak and frites were wonderful and a good value.
Great service. Loved the chocolate mousse dessert. Appreciated the new valet service and app.
House WiFi did not allow LEYE app work in back room. Caesar salad was wilting. Had steak and frites. Steak was good but frites were soggy stale. Berry Brioche Bread Pudding was excellent. Service was very good.
We sat outside on a beautiful night and service and food were excellent.
Very Celiac friendly! Awesome Gluten free menu. Delicious food and great waitstaff!
Dinner was fantastic and the outdoor patio was perfect tonight.
After dining at Mon Ami Gabi for several years we were both disappointed in the food. We each had unacceptable steak/frites. The steaks were extremely thin and poorly cooked. The pate had little taste and the bread was not up to their previous standard. The waiter was quite good. Living 25 miles away with much traffic I don’t think we will be making that journey in the near future.
The food here is always good. We had onion soup, steak and oysters. Our table was always cleaned by those walking around. We never had to look for our waiter. The service by Javier was excellent. We love this place!
Three friends, who I haven't seen in a year, and I met for lunch. I was at the restaurant a few weeks ago with another friend so I recommended we meet there. Lunch was absolutely fabulous. Delicious food, great service and reasonable prices. Each of us was very happy with the restaurant and agreed that the next time we get together, it would be at Mon Ami Gabi.
The steak was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the escargot appetizer.
For the prices the food should be very much better. It was bland, lukewarm...and the host/manager was so shabb looking on creased khakis and a plaid shirt, when the waiters are classic black and white. Disappointing.
All very good food, though it gets a bit noisy. Great pick for lunch before play at Drury Lane.
Reliable food and service. pleasant atmosphere, although sometimes a little loud.
We enjoy dining here for various occasions. It is a treat!
Our server was outstanding.
Our server, Keith, was perfectly tuned in to our needs and exceeded expectations. He let us talk, talk, talk but kept the food and wine coming. It made for a lovely afternoon...so much so that we are coming back on December 21 for a repeat performance.
Mon ami Gabi remains our favorite restaurant. We eat out frequently, but Mon ami is our go to place for special occassions. This trip we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is great and the ambiance is classic French. The steak and frites is a stand out dish that is available with a number of different preparation styles. The warm goat cheese appetizer is a must. The profiteroles for desert are to die for. Thanks Mon ami for making our anniversary special.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Mon Ami Gabi and really loved it. This was our first time dining there and we will definitely be back. Everything was wonderful and they really made our anniversary so special. Our server, Jessica was phenomenal! She was so helpful with recommendations and really created such a welcoming experience. My husband and I mentioned multiple times throughout the meal how kind and thoughtful she was.
The waiter made a very difficult day of losing our Mom into an amazing experience. Robert was fantastic!!! We have never had a staff give us all hugs on the way out of the restaurant. Priceless 👍👏
Our service was excellent! The drinks and food fantastic!
The brunch was excellent! Service was fantastic and ambiance was wonderful. Would definitely recommend and go back again!
Brunch was delicious!
Very enjoyable - from the baguette to créeme brûlée. And the best steak frites I’ve had.
The service was prompt and attentionate.
The soup of the day was very good (Gaspacho). Unfortunately, the main course were not as good.
I had the salmon served with mached peas and a beurre blanc. The peas were very good and felt very fresh the salmon and the Beurre blanc was a little watery and was lacking tasting. We also had the steak au Proivre and the steak was good as we’ll a show the s’amuse but the fries were over cooked.
The wine recommendation was very good but and the bread was served warm but not crisp out of the oven but felt more that it was heated up in the microwave.
At the end of the dinner, our anniversary was acknowledged by two lovely profiterole which was a lovey gesture and very much appreciated.
Overall service was great, genuine and personalized. As far as the food, I am confident that it was a one off experience as I have been there before and it was right on! But the gaspacho was exquisite!
Great French restaurant in the Western suburbs and with the French music in the background you could almost be in Paris.
We always go to Mon Ami Gabi for our anniversary, and this year was our 13th. As always, Mon Ami Gabi did not disappoint. Our server brought us each a complimentary glass of champagne to start the evening. For an appetizer, I decided to branch out and try the escargot (something I haven't had since a trip to France with a friend 15 years ago). They were delicious, especially the herbed garlic butter sauce they were floating in. My husband and I both had the house salad and the filet mignon au poivre, which were very solid. The server was good about making sure his steak did not come with the creme fraiche, since he has a dairy allergy. Desserts were complimentary as well! My husband enjoyed his sorbet, and the profiterole was chocolatey and delicious. Another lovely anniversary meal! :)
We love Mon Ami Gabi in Oakbrook. And love the points from Lettuce Entertain You. Service was good and valet parking is very convenient.
I could just order the chicken pate and be a happy camper. The best anywhere. I have even gone so far as to ask for the recipe but unfortunately no luck. They also got their MON AMI GABI fish back on the menu. WooHoo, was waiting for it to return. Our go to restaurant in the burbs. Always happy there!
Our waiter Ron was outstanding
My wife ordered the trout without almonds
I ordered a filet medium rare
Neither were correct and a disappointment
Excellent experience. Only problem was trying to use Open Table points. The server was temporarily down and it took quite a while to get to redeem the card.
Restaurant and experience 5 stars
Open Table 0 stars.
Very consistently good French bistro fare. Great service all for a reasonable price.
Fantastic as usual. Steve our waiter is the best.
Dale the manager is always kind and pleasant to talk with (when he has time) Just can’t say enough about MonAmiGabi Oakbrook!!!!!
Service was fantastic but we were not blown away by the food. We had their oysters, mussels, stripped bass and steak. It was just ok.
I was disappointed in the onion soup; it wasn't as good as I've at other places. Also, the lack of an option for a small sandwich or something to go with the soup. I ordered a small salad with the soup, but it was definitely not worth an additional $9. Also, for a suburban location, I thought it was rather expensive. I live downtown, and maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the prices would be a little lower. A glass of wine, soup, and small salad cost over $30 plus tax and tip. I can go to Gibson's downtown for lunch and spend between $15-$20 and get a better experience.
Started with a lovely glass of Sauvignon blanc. The gazpacho soup was excellent. Then I moved on to beef Wellington. It was amazing. My dining companions had salmon and pasta and another steak. All were excellent.
Nice little bar if you're early or there for the happy hour. Great service. We had gazpacho, escargot, beef wellington, steak, and a salmon salad. We've been there before and never disappointed.
The heat was almost enough to drive us out. The restaurant was having air conditioner issues on this very hot day. Some patrons didn't stay, but we choose to stick it out because we like the food and service. Strange that the manager didn't come around to apologize for the discomfort.
