The service was outstanding!!!! Very attentive to my fathers gluten allergy.
Great food, cozy venue.
The steaks were delicious! Service was fantastic!
Hi - we went for our 24th weeding anniversary. We had noted it in the comments. We were greeted warmly by the host. They had a glass of Champagne brought to the table and wished us "Happy Anniversary". Our waiter was Jim and he was very attentive and friendly. We each had one of the specials - pork and fish. They were both delicious! In addition, they had desert sent to continue our celebration. It was a great celebration and would highly recommend! Thanks for a great night Mon Ami Gabi
Food and service was excellent. The only thing was that it was 100 degrees out that day and it felt like the air condition was broken. It was hot in there.
A favorite for our family. Always great food and service. Rather warm as air conditioning was inadequate during our stay.
The AC was not working on a 95+ degree day. Our sever didn’t address this until we asked and he said “ya it’s about 79 degrees in here”. One entree took an hour to be delivered. I asked the manager what the hold up was and he acted confused. The server finally said that the kitchen was a “hot mess” and therefore that is what took so long. We were comped our entree and given a free dessert but the no caring attitude of the manager was unbelievable.
We went for Fathers Day brunch and it was extremely warm in the restaurant. It was hot outside but the air conditioning could not have been not working. Everything was good except filet was rare (we asked for medium) and a little tough. We normally have very good food here, maybe the holiday affected our food.
Great food, great ambiance, great service.
Management, and wait staff do a fantastic job.
Not a bad value and they go out of the way to make you feel like a regular on your 1st visit.
Food was good. Service was good. Seated shortly after arrival even though we were early for our reservations.
Salmon entree was great, but veal chops were expensive ($37) and disappointing. Not our best experience at Mon Ami......
Food and drinks took forever. The food was cold when it was served. Hand cut fries were cold and greasy.
I always have a great meal here, but service was pretty slow. Usually that doesnt happen but we were seated in the bar.
Have always liked this place, especially the mussels.
Mon Ami Gabi offers good food at moderate prices in conversion friendly surroundings.
The steak, prepared medium rare, was mouth-watering and perfectly prepared. Every one of of us ordered the steak but each with a different sauce. They were all sublime! The pomme frites were crisp and well-seasoned. The restaurant was bustling for a rainy Sunday night, but it was cozy and enjoyable.
As always the food is wonderful service excellent and great ambiance.
Have been to Mon Ami many times. It is a welcome break from the blah, sameness of most suburban restaurants...sure, it’s a chain, and sure it is a “theme” restaurant, but they attack the French bistro/cafe theme in an earnest and joyful way. They get the details right and for the most part they get the menu and the preparations right. Simple preparations of good meats, fish and veggies...all much above average. Classic French sauces applied with a light touch. It’s not Paris, but heck it didn’t take me 8 hours to get there and cost me $1,200 either. Try this spot in Oak Brook. You might forget you’re in the belly of the beast of upscale suburban shopping centers.
Nice option for brunch on Sunday morning
Did not like sitting in back room, mostly by ourselves
Great time at brunch. The smoked salmon appetizer was amazing. Service not as attentive, they left some plates and a bread bag on the table for the whole meal that should've been taken away.
As always the steak and fries were outstanding!
waitress was friendly and helpful. Food was very good.
For our 10 years anniversary, the servers give us Champagne. Food was fantastic.
We had a dekicious and very reasonably priced lunch. Excellent service also.
I had the salmon with peaks and leeks in beurre blanc. Fabulous! Would go back to have it again!
Very good lunch spot.
Everything was perfect! We had an especially good server, the food was wonderful. I love their Quiche Lorraine. Dessert was a raspberry sorbet which was fresh and flavorful.
I return here again and again and am always very pleased.
While we were seated promptly and at first attended to by the wait staff, after a while, I thought we were having to wait some time for the wait staff to return to get our order. I ordered the half chicken which was just okay for me. The mashed potatoes seemed to be very thin instant potatoes. The berry bread pudding was tasty and my husband's profiteroles looked yummy.
Excellent in all respects. Our favorite spot for dinners
Always good. Great food, great service from Javier.
Food was excellent as usual. Need a domestic beer for the non-Francophiles who dine there!
Service was poor
Food was not cooked properly
Manager was inept
Have dined here many, many times and this is our first disappointing visit. It started with the manager refusing to honor our OpenTable reward! My frisee and bacon salad had little of each-unlike my past experiences here-and the lettuce was "chewy". To make matters worse, the "poached" egg was solid inside. Our favorite trout almondine had few almonds and, new to us, an almond "sauce"- unlike our previous experiences here. But the fish was tasty. Fortunately our waiter Steve provided his usual excellent service. He saw my salad and removed the charge.
And a shout-out to OpenTable for returning my rewards points.
We have visited this restaurant on several occasions. Each time we sat at a table outside and were fortunate the server was top notch. On our most recent visit we were celebrating our anniversary and Tammy was a wait person. She was very helpful in explaining the menu and offered great suggestions. Very accomodating to our special requests. Wife had teh trout almodine and simply raved about it. We split a dessert and when the bill arrived I noticed they did not charge for the dessert. I presume it was complimentary due to our anniversary.
Highly recommended by a couple who eat out 6 to 7 times a week.
My family and I like to celebrate my birthday or Mother's Day at Mon Ami Gabi because of the varied menu items and the ambiance. It is unique and that is very special to us.
The food is always excellent, as is the service.
Brunch was nice with varied selections but service was slow. Quiche was best of five entrees ordered. Unfortunately, eggs Benedict was served on muffins that were more like bagels - thick and airy instead of thin and crumbly. French Toast was good although serving consisted of two slices - not as generous as expected.
Attentive staff, great food and always consistent. One of our favs!
Delicious food, great service, would recommend. Perfect place for a date night.
We always enjoy whatever we order and always have a pleasant dining experience. Good wine selection. Hostess, server, and all other staff members are always friendly and available for any needs.
