Mon Ami Gabi - Las Vegas - Main Dining Room Ratings and Reviews
Our food was very good, but our server was so busy it detracted from our experience. We were also seated IMMEDIATELY next to the cashier station which detracted from our experience greatly. If you are looking for a special occasion location or hope to have a chance of visiting with your company, I would recommend somewhere more quiet. Otherwise, very good food on the strip with a lively atmosphere. Highly recommend the scallops and any steak option on the menu.
This is the second year in a row for my wife and I to go to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary. They treated us first class and even serve a complimentary dessert and said happy anniversary while they serve it! We will definitely make this restaurant a tradition for our wedding anniversary.
Food and stable overlooking the ballyhoo fountains were great. The pate was excellent with the wine. Salads were really good, but nothing you haven't seen at other restaurants. The steak frites were top notch and we enjoyed the merlot sauce most. You have to try the tarte tatin. So good.
Only issue was service. Our server was in a rush to move us along while we wanted to linger. Despite rushing us, he kept promising to bring us bread and failed to do so until after we ran out with the appetizer which came with 3 pieces for our party of 4.
Great table but...waiter was disinterested, abrupt and was so busy looking around the room when talking to us we couldn't hear him. He never once looked us in the eye. We had to ask twice for things (e.g.: wine!). Food was good but very overpriced. For $180+tip for two people (2 starters, 1 beer, 2 glasses of wine, two steak frites mains and 1 coffee) we could have done far better elsewhere.
This was a birthday occasion and we sat on the patio and watched the water show at Bellagio while eating. The food was terrific but the server was not so great. Had a terrific personality but was very slow in taking orders and getting us moving when we were finished.
I had the frise and kale salad, out of this world. Also had the steak with mustard butter.
My husband had the muscles and the steak with bernaisse sauce
We loved it, just wish service would have matched up to the food
This was my second visit to this restaurant. The first was with my mom. I vaguely remembered the scallops not meeting my standards but received a $20 coupon & thought I’d give it another chance. So I took my wife. Big mistake. This dinner was just not to par. The bread is the highlight of the meal.
I recommend taking notice of why a business offers $20 coupons and spending it somewhere else. This place is very busy and won’t miss us I’m pretty sure tourists abound here. Woulda been better off at Gordon Ramsey burger, & I don’t eat burgers...
Four of us went for dinner. The food was excellent with the exception of one steaks that was a bit tougher than two others ordered, a salmon dish was spot on. This is a fun place. We've been there a couple of times in the past and this time treated two family members who were there for the first time. It's a fun place to watch the Vegas crowd and enjoy good food. Service was very good. We'll be back.
Food was ok. It was our anniversary...My wife had the trout...she said it was bland. Not much flavor (seasoning). My steak dish was drenched in peppercorn sauce...probably would have been better on the side. My bad for not asking. And the steak was kind of nervy. We like the place. Great atmosphere. Bread is awesome. And the staff is terrific. A little more TLC with the preparation of the food would go a long way. Perhaps a menu change?
We are locals and love this place. The service is always perfect and so is the food. My husband always gets the escargot and steak frites. This time I got the beef bourguignon and it was so good. It had all the elements of Julia child’s recipe - including the root vegetables, the lardons, and the wonderful gravy. It was seasoned perfectly...a great winter dish. Mon ami is a great spot, whether you sit inside in the cozy romantic dining room or are lucky to get a spot on the patio overlooking the strip. Either way, you’ll be happy with your choice.
The reservation/check in is HORRIBLE and will and will prevent me from returning. Reservations at 7. Arrived 15 min early. Waited in their reservation/walk in line for 45 min. Was then given a buzzer to wait another 20 min. What is the point of making a reservation when they still do first come, first serve? Sad because the food is amazing. When asked about the process was responded to very rudely by hostess that they had 600 reservations that night. Well that is not my problem as a customer for their poor planning.
I visit Mon Ami Gabi whenever I’m in Las Vegas. Sophisticated and authentic French bistro style food, good service and great decor and ambiance. It can be busy so use Open Table to avoid a long wait for a table! For brunch I recommend the smoked salmon benedict, the corned beef hash with poached eggs and the trout almondine. The Bloody Mary is excellent.
