Mon Ami Gabi - Las Vegas - Main Dining Room Ratings and Reviews
Food was ok. It was our anniversary...My wife had the trout...she said it was bland. Not much flavor (seasoning). My steak dish was drenched in peppercorn sauce...probably would have been better on the side. My bad for not asking. And the steak was kind of nervy. We like the place. Great atmosphere. Bread is awesome. And the staff is terrific. A little more TLC with the preparation of the food would go a long way. Perhaps a menu change?
We are locals and love this place. The service is always perfect and so is the food. My husband always gets the escargot and steak frites. This time I got the beef bourguignon and it was so good. It had all the elements of Julia child’s recipe - including the root vegetables, the lardons, and the wonderful gravy. It was seasoned perfectly...a great winter dish. Mon ami is a great spot, whether you sit inside in the cozy romantic dining room or are lucky to get a spot on the patio overlooking the strip. Either way, you’ll be happy with your choice.
The reservation/check in is HORRIBLE and will and will prevent me from returning. Reservations at 7. Arrived 15 min early. Waited in their reservation/walk in line for 45 min. Was then given a buzzer to wait another 20 min. What is the point of making a reservation when they still do first come, first serve? Sad because the food is amazing. When asked about the process was responded to very rudely by hostess that they had 600 reservations that night. Well that is not my problem as a customer for their poor planning.
I visit Mon Ami Gabi whenever I’m in Las Vegas. Sophisticated and authentic French bistro style food, good service and great decor and ambiance. It can be busy so use Open Table to avoid a long wait for a table! For brunch I recommend the smoked salmon benedict, the corned beef hash with poached eggs and the trout almondine. The Bloody Mary is excellent.
The servers are always invested in their job at Mon Ami. I have been coming her for over 15 years and have never had bad service. Our waiter this last time went out of his way to ensure the severe food allergies of one of our guests was handled with utmost importance. The food is excellent and there are always great specials to choose from.
We were celebrating my birthday and I wanted French food. This restaurant did not disappoint! We shared the onion soup which was covered in gooey cheese and had very good flavor. My mussels were excellent and there were a good number. My Mom had the steak with bernaise sauce and it was prepared just right. Our server, Anthony, made the meal. He was very attentive, helped me get the app to save money and had a fantastic sense of humor. I will make this one of my regular stops when in town. I highly recommend it!
Wife and I really enjoyed this restaurant. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive and food is good, not great. Recommend the steak frites, neither of us liked the scallops.
Ask/wait for a patio seat so you can be on the sidewalk and watch the fountains at the Bellagio. They have ample heaters on the patio even when temps dropped below 50.
Mon Ami Gabi - Las Vegas, was recommended to us by several Uber drivers. We were skeptical, but, we arrived early, with two-more than original reservation. Not only did they accommodate us, but thanked us because they had a "six" and needed diners to fill-it.
The food was delicious, but the portions were a bit small. We had the seafood platter for two, and we were rationed only four oysters, and four shrimp along with a reasonable lobster. The ambience was great, but a bit noisy. Nevertheless, for a strip restaurant, in a strip hotel Mon Ami Gabi, exceeded our expectations.
I would have pass. Food and plated cold. When questioned it, the response was “we’re to busy to worry about that” what does that even mean? It reminded me of being at a theme park restaurant that was to busy and to expensive for what you get. Unless you don’t get out much.... this will just be a disappointment. Sorry, but this place is designed to please all out Tourist.
They had a bizarre and byzantine check-in process, even with our reservation, that the hostesses seemed to be struggling with. Quality of the food was inconsistent. Appetizers were all excellent. Wine selection was tremendous and there were some really nice values. Dinner was a little disappointing. We all ordered versions of their famous steak frites. Steaks were just okay -- flavorful, but middling quality. Frites were room temp and chewy -- like they had been sitting for a while. Service was very good...head waiter was efficient and knowledgable, though occasionally (and understandably) inattentive on a very busy night.
The original Mon Ami Gabi in Chicago is a terrific restaurant. This one is just good.
Despite the completely packed restaurant due to the CES convention, the service and attention I received from staff was just as friendly and prompt compared to prior nights when it was not as full. As soon as I reached the counter for my 8:45 reservation, I was seated immediately. The food never disappoints. I had the filet merlot for the first time and actually like the flavor a lot better than the filet au poivre. It was phenomenal. I am going to order the filet Merlot from now on so please keep it on the menu. As I have said in previous reviews, the steaks are always cooked consistently to my request. I have always ordered medium and they have never messed up. The quality is very high compared to the astronomically priced overrated high end steakhouses. This is why I keep coming back. Escargot is always a reliable starter as well. Tonight they had a featured dessert that made for a perfect ending to the evening. It was an orange and citrus-flavored crepes Suzette. I loved it and hoped to see it offered on return visits.
