Mon Ami Gabi - Las Vegas - Main Dining Room Ratings and Reviews
We love this place ands usually get superior service with amazing food. However, this time the food came out under cooked twice and had almost no flavor. I understand there's good nights and bad nights, and they probably had a bad night. Service was great at first, but after we had to send our steaks back because they were raw in the center, service dropped significantly.
We have eaten here many times before. The steaks and the "pomme frites" (crisp, slim french fries) are very good. Excellent soup. The restaurant is very large, and the outside Strip facing patio is very popular. We are locals, so we opted for inside seating. The atmosphere is very casual, but it is always quite crowded and pretty noisy. Prices are high, but not nearly as high as many Strip steak houses.
One of our favorites! Located in the Paris Hotel. Food and service always outstanding when we visit Las Vegas. It represents a very good value as well. The outdoor seating is excellent but inside near windows is also wonderful for people watching on the strip with the Bellagio water cannons putting on a show in the background. Would avoid the interior tables which are dark - unless you are looking for the ultimate privacy. You will see why the French are so famous for the hot fresh bread. I love the Trout Almandine and wife loves the Scallops as well as Salmon . For desert, you will not be sorry if you split the profitertroles (chocolate pastry & ice cream). Get your reservations early- if you want to sit outside it is first come first serve for those who have reservations. Sitting just inside the glass wall is also an excellent option for sight seeing while you dine. Wonderful wine menu. They did a great job of getting us 'in and out' without making us feel rushed when we told them we had tickets for a show after dinner. If you like comedy shows, try 'Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Guy' also located at the Paris in a small theater. It's a real knee slapper and great way to cap off a wonderful evening after dinner :)
Another great experience at Mon Ami Gabi, this time for Valentine's Day. We've been to Mon Ami Gabi on many Valentine's Day and they handle it very well. Busier than usual, they keep the customer flow going with very few hitches.
They started with a carrot, chive and Champagne vinaigrette dressing. With warm baguette, it was an excellent appetizer.
This time we had the Escargot which was tender and flavorful. We always ask for extra bread so we don't miss any of the garlic butter.
We had Steak Poivre and Steak with Roquefort Butter topping, and of course with frites. The steaks were extra tender this time, and the frites were crispy as they should be.
For dessert we had the Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate topping. Not as good as the Sanders Cream Puff Hot Fudge Sundays you Michiganders know, but these mini versions will do nicely, thank you. very good.
We'll back several more times this year for special occasions.
I love this place! We go here every time we are in las vegqas.
We ate dinner on valentines here this time and they sat us quickly and they even got us a seat outside to see the fountain show at the Bellagio across the street.
We have the Steak frites. It was so good, and our waiter was fabulous.
We had reservations for this restaurant at 8:15 PM, we arrived at 8:00 only to be told that they were running 15 minutes late. I asked the Hostess for directions to the Box Office to pickup our show tickets while we waited, neither Hostess could direct me to the Box Office. We waited a ½ hour before I went to the Hostess to ask why we had not been seated, she had no explanation so I asked to speak to a manager. Surprisingly the Manager arrived and took us to our table. Food was ok but not worth the price.
I’ve been there 4-5 times for business and pleasure....and at least two of those times there had been an excessively long line to wait on to check in for your reservation. The line is intimidating and the wait to put your name in annoying. They need a better system. After waiting on the line for at least twenty minutes, there can be a wait for the table...also annoying. Once seated, the service and the food is great. But in deciding to go back, I may think twice since there seems to be a 50/50 chance on that horrible line...it’s stressful especially since people are confused by it and it’s length is overwhelming.
The food here is always great. Our server was fantastic and we even loved our little quaint table inside but in the room closest to the patio. The only thing that really keeps me from giving them 5 stars was the little snotty hostess. We had resevations and when we arrived there were 2 very long lines. My husband asked which line we should be in if we already had reservations and she pointed to the shorter line. When we got back to the podium where the same hostess was standing she told us we were in the wrong line. We explained she was the one who told us to stand in that line, with an attitude, she denied it and told us we had to get in the other line, which was 3 times as long. As we walked to the end of the other line, the hostess had a smirk on her face. On the way to the end of the line, another couple told us they just went through the same thing and the hostess had an attitude with them as well. We considered leaving but decided to stay for the food. I hope your experience is better.
We have been here many times but we did not dine in the main dining room. Although we had reservations, Mon Ami Gabi really overbooked that night. After getting there a half hour before our reservation, we found out that the line to even get to the check-in desk was way out the door. We waited until our reservation time and were still in line. Tired of waiting and not wanting to miss out on our special occasion, we opted to be seated outside the main dining room. Although the food was great, it was a very unpleasant experience because people in the casino next to the dining area were smoking and it ruined the evening for us. I hope Mon Ami Gabi will be more respective of reservations in the future otherwise, we won't ever be back.
Tip: make reservation for no later than 5:30pm. Those who did later were standing in a very very long line just to get seated even with reservation which was confirmed with me three times over the phone. These guys are super busy. If you like onion soup - would be a good choice - best in town. Their steaks are very good however no choices of nice veggies with it but terrible dried out French fries. The seating is very very tied - that’s why I wouldn’t recommend for romantic dinners - too close to other strangers to have a private conversation, and surprisingly loud.
My Husband and I came to eat here on Valentine’s Day, and due to traffic / line out side the front door we arrived about 30 mins later than our original reservation. The Host was able to still find us a seat.
Our waiter Jeremy was excellent. At the end of our night there was a waiter who faltered and broke a glass on the floor, the waiter and manager on
Took care of the glass ect quickly. The organization of the restaurant during such a busy occasion was amazing.
Even though they were busy and had a very long line waiting, on the inside of the restaurant you could not tell, it was calm and enjoyable.
Early pre show dinner, we booked for 5pm on Valentine's Day and in fact arrived at 4 45. Good thing we did, place was packed by 5.30 and when we left at 6 30 the lines at the door snaked a good 50 ft or more.
They took several minutes to even find our booking. Had asked for an inside window table when booking, meaning next to the patio, they started by showing us a table way back inside on a corner of two walkways, not a good spot. Asked to move to the outer inside area, tried to give us a table near the open door to the patio (it's cold here right now). Then another also next to a walkway, finally I said there is the window table we asked for and took that one.
So they took no notice of our window request at check in.
Starter (Lobster Bisque) and dessert (Profiteroles) we're very good. The steak frites beef was rather on the touch side even cooked medium rare. Beef Wellington a little tough too, cooked medium rare plus the pastry was soggy - this is not Gordon Ramsey's BW. Food Service was excellent though.
