Amazing as always!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Mon Ami Gabi as we always do. The food was outstanding, our waitress was lovely and we were given a spot a little bit out of the way, which was great as I had noted that it was a special occasion. My only complaint, which is small, is that the busboys took our food away to quickly and too briskly. I am sure that this was done in an effort to be efficient, which I appreciate, but it was a little disconcerting and took away from the relaxed and festive atmosphere.
Excellent food and service...one of our favorite restaurants! Salads, fish entrees, and profiteroles were wonderful!
Good, very good
This was my first time having Sunday Brunch and it was delightful! I very much enjoyed myself. the omelette was excellent and overall a really nice experience.
Always excellent service and Ebert effort made to accommodate gluten free requests - even the bread and butter.
Always amazing. Never disappoints. Steak frites and filet were perfectly cooked. Love the service and the atmosphere!! Perfect date night, family nights or friendly get together!
Valentines dinner with another couple
This was my first time at Mon Ami Gabi, and I was very pleased with the experience. I've been wanting to dine here for quite some time. The escargot were superb. The steak frites literally melted in your mouth. I highly recommend the Bordelaise and Roquefort sauce accompaniments. The macaroni au gratin was Sublime. Our server, Dave, was wonderful, and truly added to our experience. Good job! I can't wait to come back for the French onion soup and creme brulee!
Terrific. Very good food and ambience
One of our favorite restaurants in Chicago, hard to get in, have to book in advance.
If you are new to French cuisine, I would recommend trying this restaurant as a stepping stone. If you are accustomed to authentic French food - this is not your place. It's an average/Americanized version - almost like the Olive Garden of French food. Huge portions, large loaves of bread, mediocre frites, so-so dessert...
Our waiter was fun and we enjoyed the wine - but, I would not go back for the food when there are so many "mom + pop" French restaurants at our fingertips.
Our server John was friendly and thoughtful and accommodated our needs graciously. His dessert recommendations were perfect and when we wanted to split the excellent French onion soup, he had it split into two smaller crocks so we could each enjoy the baked top. BIG THUMBS UP! Great food and superior service. We will be back soon.
Food was fantastic - the place was full but food was still bought out quickly. Overall a great night out.
Over the years this became our ultimate special occasion dining. Delicious food, remarquable service and atmosphere that makes you feel in Paris! Coup de Cœur: escargots gratinés for appetizer, for main steak with fries to die for or scallops that are oh so so tender! Accompanied by rose bubbly and crème brûlée for desert! Surely will make your occasion even more special!
My favorite place for hanger steak with hob nob pinot noir.
Felicia was fantastic!!!!!
Mon Ami Gabi never disappoints and remains such a favorite spot of mine. The food was delicious, my seating preference was available, and the service was amazing. Our hostess [I don't remember her name, sorry!] was friendly and warm. Our server, Nicole, was professional, friendly, and also respectful of our conversation time ... I was having an informal business dinner with a colleague who I have not seen in a long time. Again, I highly recommend Mon Ami Gabi and suggest it to my friends who come to Chicago to visit. Thanks you for such a consistently good experience.
Long lost Fish and Frites not up to their old standards.
Mon Ami Gabi always good choice, but 1st time for brunch. The salmon benedict on hash browns was great. I'd recommend any of the desserts, but the seasonal sorbet was particularly amazing - several citrus flavors including Meyer lemon and grapefruit - try it!
We had a great time at Mon Am Gabi this past weekend. The food was delicious and service was friendly and attentive. We had an issue with our reservation and Mark was able to assist us quickly. We look forward to coming in again!
Second time for Sunday Brunch. Love this restaurant.
This was our second annual celebration of the restaurant’s special Super Bowl Sunday brunch. We ate delicious, interesting, we’ll-priced food in our pajamas—and outstanding service.
The food was simply, out of this world. I had ordered the lamb shank and it was "melt in your mouth" delicious. The service was great and we felt special. Will be there again, most definitely.
Great service and food as always. I loved the trout. It was cooked perfectly. My wife had the bone in filter and it was better than restaurants that charge almost twice as much.
Terrific as usual. Remind me of a Paris bistro. I always enjoy my meal
Food and service was very good.
I am always happy with Mon Ami. Good food that is straightforward and very well-prepared - good wine and good service.
I went with two friends for the Restaurant Week prix fixe menu. The salad and dessert were delicious, but for my main course, I ordered a pasta with preserved lemon, mushrooms, truffle, cheese and a poached egg on top. It would have benefited from less salt, and the poached egg was cold. I still love Mon Ami Gabi, but I certainly won’t order that pasta again.
mini baguette, duck confit, escargots, steak frites, profiteroles
