Great spot go on off times to get a table outside
On the walls of Mon Ami there is a large emu of Plats du Jour," as well as a wine-by-the-glass menu. We tried to order two wines from the wine list, and were told they did not have them. We tried to order the plat du jour, and was told they did not have duck. When we called over the manager, he said those menus were just decorations, treated us as if we were stupid, and made no effort to see if we wanted anything else. We got up and walked out. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Service is clearly overwhelmed. Good waiter , but not enough people to help him and too many tables to work on. The food is fine, ambiance is truly bistro parisian
Great food and service. Relatively limited dinner menu. Recommended.
Like a number of restaurants, Mon Ami Gambi is operating with limited staff so all wait staff was stretched thin. Our waiter, Lee, did a great job juggling a high number of tables. Greatly appreciated. We all need to have a little more patience and get through this together.
A great experience - the food was super and our server was incredible!
Wonderful food and service!
Excellent as always. Food, service and ambience. Gazpacho is a summer favorite.
Drinks were great. Food was just okay. Slightly disappointed.
Food was excellent, service was sporadic as our reservation was 30 minutes before kitchen closed.
My waitress is excellent! Unfortunately, I forget her name. Overall, the service is above average.
Food was cold and service slow. This is the second meal we have had here and the second time with the same issues We have one more meal on our gift card and then we will not be coming back. I’m sure our third visit will be more of the same.
it’s a great location Specially when you sit outside.Food was very average nothing spectacular
Food was mostly good. The frites were a bit greasy and soggy. The steak was cooked medium rare as ordered and was very tender. Muscles were good. The salad was extremely fresh and a surprisingly large serving.
The strongest negative aspect was that the service was quite slow. We certainly didn’t feel pampered. They seemed to be short staffed. Maybe it is simply a sign of the times that you can’t hire a sufficient number of wait staff right now. When the waiter did show up he was very professional, friendly, and helpful.
We would eat here again, but it will not be at the very top of our list.
Summer help is young and sometimes lacking. Surprisingly we were never asked for a drink order or wine with the meal. When I finally asked the very young English speaking busboy if he could get me a glass of house white wine, it was never delivered.
The food was delish! I had trout and my husband steak and frites both cooked to perfection and large portions. I also had a wonderfully crisp Caesar salad that was plentiful and perfectly "dressed." All perfect.
I made RSVP for Moms BD and they wanted to place us inside ! No acceptance of pandemic issue and given is a choice of outside ! Had to get into the list again! Not a good system
Not enough wait staff. Very long wait for good and drinks.
Food was amazing, as always. I want to give a shout out to our waiter Reuben who was so attentive and friendly. Thanks so much!
Excellent food steak was super. Service was super. Birthday dinner celebration.
Pretty disappointing. The french fries were lukewarm. I sent them back. They brought equally tepid ones. The waiter came and I explained. He asked if he should clear the plate. I said yes. He charged me for them.
One of the best things about Mon Ami Gabi is they are consistent. I can always count on good food and good service. If I want to invite a friend to eat there with me I know what I will be getting and will not be disappointed or embarrassed.
Standard bistro fare - food is good, but excellent service and comfortable outdoor seating are what make me a repeat customer.
Great food and ambiance
Delicious food, outstanding service
Everyone in our party of 4 was pleased with their meals. The food was well prepared and tasty. Great service. No complaints!
Our server, Gregory Smith, was terrific, even though he had many tables to take care of.
Excellent food and service! Always enjoy dinner at Mon Ami Gabi
Limited menu but the three course lunch for $24 is a great deal.
Although the venerable manager, Adam, was not there, his training abilities shine through with an excellent, caring staff. Mark, an elegant, super nice gentleman is a perfect example of this as the manager on duty.
Despite the holiday ( at least in France) and the great business ,service was the best it could be and the steak frites absolute perfection.
This will always be one of the finest dining experiences available in the greater Washington DC area.
Excellent gazpacho, salmon, trout; service. Quiet table in the back great for first date.
I've been there before was expecting a good meal but was incredibly disappointed and the service was truly bad.
Incredible waiter. One of the best I've ever experienced. The heirloom tomato salad was so delicious and had me wishing I had ordered a take-out extra for lunch today. Gazpacho was excellent with exquisite texture and complex flavors. The trout is a must-try. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully, next time there won't be a pesky mosquito biting me around my ankles!
I have always enjoyed dining at Mon Ami Gabi. It's great for small gatherings or catching up with a friend.
The lunch menu is dull. They have begun charging for bread, which used to be complimentary, and the bread is now sourdough and a real tooth-breaker, not the delicious baguettes they used to serve. Will not return
Fantastic food. We did the lunch and everything was delicious from appetizers to desserts.
Very well attentive staff, food was good and served in a moderate wait time. Overall experience was great, I wish they had more authentic French dishes to serve.
The food over the years has declined and with COVID it took a hit as well. But regardless it is always a reliable place to get some good food. Not excellent but definitely good.
