Our waiter was awesome. He made great recommendations.
I took a co-worker here for his birthday. We had the prix fixe lunch menu and of course, et comme toujours, it was delicious and a special treat. Highly recommend!!!
Was excited to go w friend and eat outside. Waiter was terse bordering on rude. Unfortunately all 3 of us had issues with digestion within an hour of eating. Food looked good. Trout and French toast tasted good. Steak Benedict was overcooked (ordered medium rare got well done). Should have asked to see manager before leaving. With choices in Bethesda, won’t be returning. Sorry.
It was great they have lots of outdoor seating very enjoyable. Feels safe
Food was excellent as always!! Eric was our server and service was superb!!
Fantastic experience! We celebrated our anniversary there and felt completely spoiled! The service was impeccable, the food was exquisite; it was the perfect way to celebrate 11 years together.
The food was not hot and fries were very dry. They also served next course before removing plates from the previous course and appeared disgruntled when we pointed it out! Appetizer was served with no side plates - we had to ask for that also!!!
food was excellent, server were adequate at best, long wait time to get service
Loved our experience, we were greeted promptly and seated outside away from other patrons. My wife and I each started with a beer and then ordered filet mignon and steak bordelaise which arrived perfectly cooked. We wrapped it up with dessert, profiteroles and creme brûlée. First time there and will definitely not be the last. The service and regard for safety measures were both excellent. Finally, kudos to our waiter who was very attentive and friendly in addition to sporting a Baby Yoda mask.
Always delicious appetizers, entries and dessert never disappoints
Do you to Covid, the street was closed off in front of the restaurant and several restaurants on that block put tables and chairs in the street and served dinner there. We loved it. We had live music about 60 feet from us. The food was outstanding (as always), and we couldn’t have been happier.
Fix Price Lunch Menu: great value for money and good service!
Terrific French bistro with outdoor seating in the recaptured streets of downtown Bethesda. Great food and great vibe.
Came here for our anniversary. Service was slow, food was ok, barely warm. They ran out of bread. Expected a lot more from here, I’m sure they will say we’re doing our best post-covid. Feel if they can’t meet food & service expectations they should wait to open. Also, they add. 4% covid charge to bill and expect you to say something if you don’t want it...shaming patrons is poor taste. Very disappointed in our whole experience.
Enjoyed another great meal at Mon Ami. They followed all the safety protocols.
I don’t appreciate the 4% COVID surcharge. Everyone was financially impacted by the pandemic and passing that cost to the consumer isn’t wise. But if you are electing to do so, then service should be tip top and it’s wasn’t. The food was slow, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. I don’t fault the waiter, he was professional. But overall the experience was lack luster especially for a lunch that cost 155.00.
We ate onion gratan soup. it's so delicious. Steak is also good!
We had a lovely 21st birthday celebration. They made my daughter feel special. The service was outstanding, and food was delicious.
Very limited menu due to COVID 19 and unfortunately rather short on staff so service left much to be desired. Classic dishes like trout, flank stead and salmon salad all predictable in quality and presentation.
The food is very good, we have been there so many times. since move back from NYC.
The service was not great on July 29th, the waiter Ishmel did not ask us what to drink? Asking what to eat first, we asked for tomato salad to share and he did not bring two little plates. I asked for french bread and butter, and he never brought.
Horrible service. Cold food. Would not recommend to another.
Excellent food and service. We ate outside due to covid-19.
Great food and service!
Great as always !!!! I have had a few dinners during the pandemic and I have really enjoyed myself so much!!
We have deemed this our special occasion restaurant. My fiancé brought us here the night he proposed. Most recently we came here after closing on our first house. The food is amazing and the service is always great. I can’t wait for the next special occasion so we can come back.
We were sat outdoors at a cozy 2-top away from other diners. It was not as crowded as expected due to the ongoing covid concerns. I found the food quite well prepared and my date enjoyed the salmon and freshly made sides.
There were plenty of gluten free options without sacrificing any taste or artistry.
I would recommend on a cooler day or evening.
Eating at Mon Ami Gabi is becoming a weekly event for me. My friend wanted to go the Apple Store, so I took her to Mon Ami Gabi for lunch which is nearby. She loved the lunch; the food was great and the ambiance couldn't have been better. We both had a salad with salmon. I have tasted salmon in restaurants around the Capital region and can honestly say the salmon at Mon Ami Gabi is one of the best. She loved the bread (who doesn't)! Per usual, the experience was very enjoyable.
service was spotty. I don't think it was due to Coronavirus concerns because our waitress seemed attentive to everyone else. Just not us. We have eaten there many times before and this was the first time I felt that way. The overall pace of the dinner was slow (appreciate that) as expected but I had to ask for things too often like drink refresh and utensils.
We did not even stay: waiter was close to rude and did not offer specials until we asked; the restaurant now charges for bread and butter, along with higher prices, and with a Covid surcharge, though it is optional.
Sorry--this restaurant, which we had long enjoyed, is now off our list.
Server was polite but did not come to check on us at all. Table was filthy with dirty dishes (we had to ask him to clear it) server walked away as we were speaking to him (happened several times). When we told him we wanted our steak medium he replied “so you want it pink” as if we were idiots. The quality of the food was underwhelming. Steak was very thin and overcooked. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
When I went in the hostess was very unfriendly. Seemed like she didn’t want to seat me. Then we sat outside and it was nice but the waiter too seemed really unhappy to be there. We were pleasent and just ordered. Food was good but definitely felt like we were not wanted. Normally ok there but maybe they both had to work when they weren’t planning on it.
second time is a charm! We had a real good time I loved it so much for me and me and my family!!!!!
We have been to mon ami Gabi several times before and loved it, obviously, so we kept returning. We went for our date night on July 10,2020 and our experience was not as pleasant as previously. We expected some differences due to the pandemic and the reopening, etc. however, there was really no excuse as to how uncomfortably hot it was in the restaurant! It was so uncomfortable we could hardly stay long enough to finish eating. Everyone’s face ended up shiny by the time they left. They had outdoor seating as well and we wished we had chose it because at least there was a chance of a breeze outside. We actually felt relieved once we stepped outside and it was hot that day, around 86 or 87 degrees Fahrenheit. We would be hesitant to return in the summer for sure. Also, they are adding a 4% surcharge to your bill to help cover I guess the lack of business now due to occupancy amounts as well as you now have to pay for the baguette they used to give for free (which I understand I guess) plus there was none of the carrot slaw type thing they used to give with it. The bread was also not as good as before, it was pretty dry although warm. With so many other great dining options, and even though we absolutely love the goat cheese appetizer with the tomato sauce and garlic bread (which is why we kept returning) we would probably not consider returning unless they turn on the air conditioner for patrons in the middle of summer.
First lunch out after staying inside for the Covid rules.
We enjoyed and felt very safe sitting outdoors with the next table at least 6 ft away. We had very good service. However, we were surprised there was no menu (not even a disposable paper one) - we were asked to look at our smartphone for the menu but we don't have one. Although we understand regular menus could not be used because of possible contamination if reused, maybe another way of providing a menu would have helped. Luckily we actually looked at the menu on our computer at home and decided what we wanted to order already.
The food was uninspired and overpriced. Fries were soggy. Prices have increased.
Excellent service and food.
Great that MAG is open again for inside dining. Food and service as good as always.
Excellent as always! Steak Frites Bordelaise, tomato, red onion and feta salad. The food is consistently good! I’ve been coming here for years and I’m never disappointed. They have adjusted well to all of the necessary changes during Covid-29. 5 stars all the way!
