Great time with family. Good food, service and people.
Good food and a friendly atmosphere. A bit noisy and crowded due to table arrangements. Highly recommend the Hanger Steak. Our other entrees were not that spectacular.
Important to have a reservation for Saturday night. Seated promptly-directed to one table and asked if we could sit at another, which appeared quieter, and they accommodated us with no issue. The service was very prompt, attentive, but not annoyingly so. Everyone loved what they ordered-starting w/ some chilled shrimp and oysters, followed by tender meat dishes cooked to the proper doneness. Everyone enjoyed their orders and commented on how good the food was. Good cocktails, wine, but we did not stay for dessert.
Authentic French cuisine. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable prices. Good value. I will be back.
It was loud, crowded & busy. The food was wonderful. Definitely make reservations on the weekend evenings. Not a place for quiet get to know each other conversation, too many people & tables too close together for that. But, if you like great food, an extensive wine list & bar while getting cozy with the people at the tables on each side this is your place.
We had a bit of a service issue with the food runner but it was handled immediately and we were extremely pleased with the results.
Great food. Very crowded Fri. night. Need a reservation (we had one). Goat cheese appetizer delicious. Comes w/bread so decline the complimentary bread if you don’t want all that bread. French onion soup delicious. My guest had scallops appetizer which was yummy. We did not have entrees. They were pricey for our budgets but we found the 3 appetizers to be plenty. On the noisy side and tables against wall very close.
We’ve visited Mon Ami Gabi often. I love the atmosphere of the place and the food is generally great. I usually enjoy the skate wing for dinner but this time decided to have steak frites as a special treat. I was disappointed (and surprised) at how gristly my steak was. Yeah, I should have complained at the time but at $25 a pop how does this get past the chef? As it was, I got tired of sawing away at it and just had it wrapped up to take home to try to disassemble it for leftovers. I guess I’ll stick with the fish next time. Could we switch up the tired grated-carrot amuse bouche at some point too?
Birthday. As good as always.
Birth day. It is was just right
As always, the food was delicious, with some new items on the menu since I last dined there and service with a smile. I no longer work in Bethesda so I don't eat there as much as I used to, but it is my "to go place" whenever friends or colleagues are in town.
The service was exceptional, and my request for gluten free was pleasantly accommodated. I was meeting friends from the West Coast I hadn't seen in a long while, and we were left to visit and catch up, but yet our needs were promptly met. I have eaten here several times before, and love the menu and choice of French dishes. My friends thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience and stated they would like to return on their next visit east. I like that the food is all prepared within in. the gluten free bread was wonderful!
We love this place for brunch. The Bloody Marys are an appetizer unto themselves. Croque madame is delicious, as is onion soup. Service was attentive.
Excellent salads: kale and the Caesar. Hanger steak and burger excellent
Good food and good service near my favorite theater
Excellent service and terrific food. Server was engaging and helpful with menu selections.
I’ve always loved to go to Mon Ami Gabi and they are usually outstanding with their fish preparation. I directed my friend to go for lunch and have the spinach and salmon salad. This time it wasn’t nearly as good as it’s been in the past. The waiter seemsef disappointed that we weren’t ordering drinks and pretty much ignored us after our initial order. The hostess never got off the phone when we arrived and we stood there for 10 minutes. She looked up and said are you Kathy – because I said in my reservation was under - And when I said yes she handed it off to someone else to show us to our table. Our table was great. Just missing out on the professional touches that make me wanna spend the money to eat at Mon Ami Gabi
Ordered the Express Lunch. Good, not great. The pommes frites were disappointing (overcooked). We mentioned that we had limited time, and the service was fast & professional (much appreciated). Overall, a pleasant meal and a good value.
We had a great server. Lots of allergies and special requests, our server didn't bat an eye - she took in all in stride. We even had to be moved to another table to accommodate more room. No problem at all. Great way celebrate my son's birthday..
Love this place. We look forward to eating there whenever we are in D.C., which is 4 times a year. Great menu, great food, great service, fun touches, great ambience. Personal favorites: the carrot salad they bring with the baguette and butter, pureed cauliflower as a side, kale and frisee salad with a poached egg, French fries, all the seafood, soups, wine selection. Suggest reservations for dinnertime so you won't be disappointed if you can't get in.
Absolutely delightful. My favorite place in Bethesda.
Awesome service and yummy food! Had the escargot and cauliflower soup. Both delicious! Steak was so-so.
Really good date night restaurant. Food was great, staff was great and enjoyed the energy of the place. Only negative was EMS staff having to tend to the woman sitting near us who got too drunk and almost passed out at the table. She was fine and was joking about how drunk she was to anyone who would listen after EMS left. Silly!
Ok for a restaurant in Bethesda that takes groups and offers round tables for conversation.
Five of us ate steak that was just passable. I expected better quality as the meat was really of inferior quality. Lots of potatoes not much steak.
Good service and pretty nice surroundings.
We had a disappointing brunch....
The salads we tasteless, the omelettes were burned and awful, French fries thin and soggy...only thing that was good was the shrimp cocktail.
Service was superb! Reminded me of Parisian bistro-appetizers, entrees, music that was the correct volume, desserts, etc. The fact that it was full of customers from the time we arrived (7:30pm) until we left (9:30pm) is a testament to you all.
I will return, AND recommend to others!
The food here is always delicious. They didn’t have my favorite wine and our server was able to recommend one that was an excellent match. It’s a bit noisy but we were able to converse. This occasion was my birthday but my husband and I come here often before or after a movie at the Landmark Bethesda theater.
I had the Express Lunch - a salad, salmon, and dessert. It was delicious and filling and a bargain. The service was impeccable.
Great experience as always. It was very crowded and a little louder than usual, but other than that, it was excellent experience.
Superb! I like to have in Bethesda a very good restaurant.
Great food and great service, as usual!
I celebrated my birthday here with my son. The service was great, very attentive, made me feel special. The server was very nice and friendly. I always had a great experience with service whenever I come here. The food was delicious too, esp the porfiteroles!:-)
Myself and my friends, we didn't like, have to switch between two different Waiters, we didn't like at all, also mess up on are orders.
My wife and I dined at Mon Ami Gabi for a belated Valentines Day dinner. We were seated right away, our waiter was friendly and always available and the menu had lots of options that we both loved. The food was fantastic and the service was spectacular. They had something on the menu I always wanted to try called the beef Wellington and it was delicious. My wife had the hanger steak which I tasted and I will probably get next time I go. We shared the mussel appetizer and the goat cheese salad and we both got yummy desserts. I will definitely be back.
Expected a lovely Sunday brunch but service was excruciatingly long. We ordered quiche and a salad and it took about 45 minutes. Also we had to flag down the waiter to get them to check on the meal.
Food was just ok.
Great ambiance; good service; gourmet food; delicious bread; great dessert; however they serve ALMOST NO VEGETABLES WIT THE ENTREES; with my trout amandine I got a few pieces of green beans; of my two other friends who ordered salmon dishes, one got very few tasteless white beans (by the way green and white beans should be served with meat not fish), my other friend got no vegetables at all, he is a young man who had to eat a lot of bread to fill full....Very disappointing. Only the friend who ordered the seafood crepe was satisfied.
The entire staff in this restaurant is friendly and service-oriented. We had no trouble with our gluten- and dairy-free concerns; they really get it. And of course the food is always wonderful!
Excellent service. Relaxing evening. Food was delicious.
A great restaurant where we have dined many times and will return many times. We were tight on a movie reservation and they were totally responsive in moving the order and delivery. They were just the very best.
