Great place for Francophones and Fans. Highly recommended!
Generally find this a reliable and excellent place to dine. Although our server, Gregory, was handsome and attentive, I was puzzled why he became somewhat unpleasant at the end of the meal. I even saw him carefully helping an elderly, handicapped lady later- so very puzzled!
Food and very chilled wine were wonderful, but I will think twice about returning.
Everything was outstanding!
Each of us enjoyed every single bite of all the dishes. We simply had a delightful time there.
Always our go-to date night place. Steaks are to die for! They had a vichyssoise as a special for Bastille Day and it was amazing.
Sat outside on a beautiful night, the food was great, the service exceptional. Couldn’t ask for anything better.
As can be seen from the rating, food and service was just fine. The noise level make me reluctant to go again even though this has always been a favorite.
The steak was delicious, but was very thin (skirt steak?) and not what I was expecting for the price. Delicious fries and bread, and a yummy creme brûlée. Very French atmosphere with nice wine choices.
I loved it. It made the special occasion even more special.
We all had the hanger steak with frites and butter sauce. Delicious. And split a Caesar salad. Great service.
Excellent service and food. Loved it.
Food was good, but our server was pushy at first and inattentive after we placed our orders were placed
Mom's birthday. She loved the mussels, which were huge! We ate outside, beautiful weather. Good people watching. They gave use free profiteroles with candles. Delicious! Much appreciated. Great waitress too.
We were delighted that our strong request for outside dining was honored! Service was prompt and professional/personal. The “Amuse Bouche” delectable — grated carrot salad. Food as always delicious. Very enjoyable evening!
Was expecting more since the location in Vegas is so good. Food was ok. Came to try the French onion soup. Had better soup at a steakhouse. The broth was lacking flavor. Tyler Florence has a better recipe on the food network website. Not a place I would go out of my way to come back to. I hear the steak and frites are better options here so you may want to stick to that if you eat here.
The salmon tartar is superb. The food is always predictably good as is the service
The service was spotty. It was a busy time and we were left too long to decide on our dinner. By the time the waiter returned for our orders, the special was no longer available. One of our friends was so disappointed that he didn't order an entree. He thought that if the special was close to being out, that the waiter should have informed us. Our food itself, was very good. The waiter provided complementary wine and dessert, which we did not order.
Great decor, but the service was extremely slow. We had the breakfast menu. Asked for ketchup for the potatoes. It never came. Finally got up and went to our waiter to get it. My Eggs Benedict were poorly prepared, not enough sauce and the ham was hard to cut and tough to chew. We received complimentary desserts, but this did not make up for the poor service and food.

I hadn't been there in while and went because we wanted a place in downtown Bethesda before the movie. The food is about the same, good but not terrific, but they took skate off the menu which was one of the major reasons I used to go there. Maybe I'm wrong, but i remember the menu being more varied. My mussels were large and plentiful, but not much taste. Service was fine, and it's a good reliable place. Somehow it didn't seem as good as it used to be.
Excellent ambiance, superb service. Mon Ami Gabi does its name justice - it's like going to a friend's house, one who is a great host and has amazing food! From the brunch menu (which is why we went this last time), their gazpacho is amazing and all their crepes are delicious. Plus, their summer brunch cocktails are on point (we had kir royales, yum!) Can't wait to go again.
Enjoyed the food. Gazpacho was especially good. Service was inattentive and lacked polish and attention to customers. Server may have had too many tables.
Relaxed atmosphere, good salmon salad and apple tart, just the right amount of attention from the pleasant wait staff.
We go often and particularly enjoy sitting outside. In the last 6 months or so they have changed their desserts. I used to have trouble deciding which one but my favorite was the bananas foster crepe.
Nothing really tempted us on our previous two visits. We tried the caramel chocolate salted tart (I think that's what it was called). It sounded good but you could have used it for a hockey puck. When we were in France the desserts were light, almond cream, chocolate cream and flaky pastry. Or many choices of dessert crepes or profiteroles. The desserts Mon Ami offers now are definitely not French.
Makes us look forward to having to go to DC. Top notch service and food.
First time there. Excellent place. Great for a business or personal experience.
We like this place a lot!
I invited my friend for her birthday and for being there for my surgery last week. We were ontime for our reservation at 8pm. We asked to sit outside and the weather was nice. The restaurant was less than half full. We ordered escargots as appetizer, deux dishes and 2 glasses of wine. My friend ordered a second glass of wine. The waiter was in a rash and picked up the plates while our mouths were still at the last bite. He came with the dessert Menu and I said we would be taking a profiteroles. He asked if we will take coffee and I said it is too early for the coffee because my friend had still a full glass of wine. He said he was rushing because the kitchen closes at 10 and he left. We looked at the watch, it was 9:22! Despite what I said, the waiter came back with the coffee and the dessert. I have found it unacceptable but didn’t do any scandale because my friend didn’t want me to say anything. I can say it now: what happened was unacceptable. Even if the food is good, having to rush to
We ate outside, which was pleasant and quiet. We were not having a big meal. The food and experience was enjoyable. I would certainly recommend Mon Ami Gabi to friends.
I brought my very old mother here, and the servers were super conscientious, polite, and friendly. It made our night!
Enjoyed our meal at Mon Ami Gabi. Great restaurant with a large wine selection and good food. The wait staff is extremely attentive even when the restaurant was very crowded. The hangar steak and frites were very good and cooked to perfection at medium rare. The trout almandine was good, but a little overcooked and dry. All in all we were happy and will come back.
Solid Bethesda version of French bistro, with reliably good steaks and salads, and a small number of good fish dishes.
Birthday with friends
The inexpensive (relatively) lunch fixed price menu sounds great but the steak frite included a very thin piece of meat that had been pounded to produce some tenderness and didn't have great taste, and the "frite" were close to matchstick potatoes but curly and thin. The gespacho was great and the profiterole tasty but none of the dishes approached full size. Very disappointing.
Still an excellent place for a friend's lunch. Luncheon menu was excellent and quite reasonably priced. We could talk and were not rushed.
Excellent as always. Food was delicious, service was abundant but overwhelming or hovering, and for my friend the 3 olive martini was exceptional. The seasonal gazpacho was marvelous.
The food is consistently good. It's really loud, so if your looking to have a decent conversation over dinner, I might go elsewhere. The service was disappointing as was sitting us next to a table with restless children when a much better table remained open the entire time we were seated.
Another very nice meal at Mon Ami Gabi. They really have it down pat and we always look forward to dinners there - for fun and especially when there is a birthday or anniversary; just seems like the right fit.
The food and service have been consistently excellent for many years. The same holds true today.
We sat outside and it was nice. Service was excellent. However, I felt sorry for the waiters wearing long sleeve shirts in the sweltering 90 degree heat.
I ordered a steamed artichoke and was surprised to see how small it was and very overpriced ($13). I enjoyed it. You might want to re-think the size or make the price commiserate to what you are serving.
Other than that, it was a lovely experience.
Was taken out for Father's Day and I'm not disappointed for the only reason that I got to spend the day with my wonderful family. The escargot was okay, the beef wellington was way under cooked and when we requested it be a little more done they reheated the entire plate. It wasn't that busy but I was really hyped up. And now, I'm hungry.
