Huge improvement on our last visit, knowledgeable server, good service , good food , appropriately priced, minimalist menu done well
Two meals were overdone and not good. The menu has limited vegetarian options so I always have to get the caesar salad as my entree. Not a good choice.
Too bad. There are countless vegetarian entrees that Mon Ami Gabi could offer. It is very disappointing when the duck for one guest is overcooked and the steak for another was too tough to eat, and the French fries were mushy and had to be returned for a new batch.
All in all, a very bad dinner for four.
Wonderful all around with a touch of European ambiance!
Best place for restaurant week lunch/brunch otherwise pricey
Would go back, food very good. Great valve for Restaurant week
Fantastic! From my perspective, this is one of the best restaurants in Bethesda. Make a reservation and go!
Outstanding service. Seated immediately on busy night. One of the vest waiters I’ve had in some time. Nice to comp birthday dessert.
We were surprised to get a booking during Restaurant week (didn’t realize it was happening) and requested a quiet table outside, if the weather cooperated.
Everything was delicious - especially the Dover Sole and wine pairings for the entire table. Our waiter was fantastic and had only one complaint about the
desiccated new /purple potatoes that must have been sitting on a warming tray (drying out to an almost leathery texture.). We were offered a refreshed side dish and unexpectedly comp’d a generous dessert. It was a lovely evening and the food rarely disappoints - but the service and lively atmosphere make it worth it.
Extremely pleasant. The staff was attentive and friendly, the food was delicious and prompt, and the ambiance was perfect for catching up with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while.
One of my favorite French restaurants in the area.
For years I have enjoyed Mon Ami Gabi's Frisee Salad, Frites and Onion Soup. My latest meal was so disappointing. The frisee salad was soggy and tasteless, nearly inedible. The frites were not frites at all but soggy thick French fries that were unremarkable. The onion soup had a very tasty broth but included too much bread and cheese. It was a remarkable enough difference that I am disinclined to return.
This is my favourite restaurant in Bethesda. It’s so delicious.
I cannot understand why Mon Ami Gabi cannot do better coffee. I understand that it is not a coffee shop, but lukewarm light brown water is just not acceptable.
Very nice server whose name I did not get. Nice woman in her 20s I would guess.
I'm glad I went for restaurant week. I love the old european cafe style of the restaurant but food is just okay. salmon was cold and coffee tasted burnt. Probably won't return
Been coming for years. Recently, Mon Ami has pretty dramatically increased its prices. $10-$11 for a glass of house red wine ... $10 for some steamed asparagus ... really? And the French bread has been getting tougher and staler with every visit, it comes to the table warm as if it had just popped out of the oven, but is hard as a rock.
BUT the steak frites are still good, and the saving grace of this place.
It was my birthday and everything was delicious and amazing!
Always delicious food and impeccable service. I am becoming a regular!
We sat near a back door which was used to bus dirty dishes. Throughout dinner, my companion had a door open on her face every five minutes while waiters carried in plastic boxes of dirty dishes. Horrendous experience.
Mon Ami Gabi never disappoints. We always have a good meal with something left for the next day. The tomato salad was delicious. Never had that before.
The waiter was great but the reception desk was a mess
Two couples enjoying restaurant week. We had two with wine and two without wine. All had the popular steak-frites in varying form (au poive, etc.)
Dessert was a sampling of chocolate mousse, profiteroles, and crime brûlée.
Everything was just perfect - great deal during the Special restaurant week.
Always a pleasure to dine at Mon Ami Gabi! Good food, good service and never a worry about what to expect.
Yet another glorious dining experience at Mon Mi Gabi! Given that it was the beginning of restaurant week, I was a bit reluctant to visit any restaurant Saturday afternoon. Other restaurant week experiences around the DMV were fairly mediocre. However, Mon Ami Gabi did everything right from their welcome, to seating, to wonderful service backed up by my terrific meal. My advice to all diners is go, go, go to Mon Ami Gabi!
Excellent food and service! I highly recommended!
A lovely dinner with excellent service by Lorin. She was extremely professional and efficient.
The host also accommodated our request to be seated at a quieter table, which was greatly appreciated.
the waiter could have checked on us med-way thru lunch, but had a hard time getting his attention for check.
We had a delightful birthday dinner. Food was excellent as always. Judy was our server and was so personable and helpful. She’s a “keeper!”
Pathetic restaurant. Ordinary food and horrible service.
We took a friend who is a recently widowed lady to dinner. The food was great and our server was Mike. He was superb
I always love Mon Ami, especially the Nutella waffle.
Mon Ami Gabi has all that I hoped for; a wonderful menu, courteous service, great atmosphere, at reasonable price points. Simply marvelous!
Lee is an incredible server. Food is consistently good. Thank you.
For the price, the steak was nothing extraordinary. It was cooked correctly, but was somewhat tasteless. Service was annoying. Waitress abruptly interrupted conversations at the table just to ask if things were ok.
We always love Mon Ami Gabi and so no wonder my daughter chose it for her 21st birthday. It was a lovely occasion, made even more special by our waiter. We had great cocktails and excellent food. My favorite is the Trout Almondine. The French Onion soup never disappoints either. The noise level is energetic, however if I am careful where I sit, meaning little to nothing going on behind me, I am fine with it. I also love eating outdoors.
Our waitress dina was amazing and was very helpful
Food was amazing as always
Great service! We needed a quiet corner because husband has hearing difficulties and were seated in the bac dining room.
What a treat, Mon Ami Gabi is reliably excellent. Profiteroles: heavenly!!!
My friend and I lunch here when we meet as often as possible. Perfect spot for a friendly chat and an enjoyable afternoon. It was her birthday and she really enjoyed the dessert with a candle in it!
Went for brunch, we ended up having more lunch food, but they do have nice, though limited, breakfast offerings. Food was great and service warm and friendly. We sat outside but the inside looks like a charming French bistro should. Really enjoyed.
Loved sitting outside
