Lunch date at Mon Ami Bethesda on a Friday afternoon. Drinks and service were spectacular. Food, as always, was very good. Skip the bread to save room for an appetizer. You’ll be glad you did. And request Gregory. We’ve been 6-8 times and he is the best waiter yet.
Food was delicious and special. Had the lobster bisque with crabmeat--the server poured the bisque into my bowl from a teapot, very special. My grilled chicken salad had a terrific dressing and enhanced with dried figs. The Express Lunch was a great way to have an appetizer, entree and dessert for a good price.
Food was great and the service was phenomenal! Great experience all the way around.
Will come back
Good wine selection
Judy is the best waitress! She is always super friendly and very attentive. Food was delicious as awaits!
We ate there on Valentines Day with another couple. Our Server, who unfortunately I can not remember his name, was outstanding. He was personable, available but not intrusive, and excellent at making suggestions. The food was outstanding.
Wonderful! One of our favorite restaurants!
The service is very good, we will come back again!
Beef Wellington (Sundays) is a challenging test - it was excellent - but hint, they run out, so go early, or reserve early. Great paired with St. Emilion Grand Cru.
We know we can count on Mon Ami for good food and great service and we were not disappointed.
First, I love Mon Ami. I've had two meals there and they were both terrific. My only complaint about this visit was the temperature of my Beef Wellington. My date ordered the trout almondine, which we shared (as always!) and I had the BW. When they arrived, the trout was perfectly done. My Wellington, however, had apparently sat in the kitchen for some time, because it was plainly cold. I know I'll be back to MAG, but this was a little problematic for me this time.
Our brunch took over two hours. Our food was extremely slow to come out and the waiter never even apologized for the delay or came over while we waited. We also had a 14 month old baby who was luckily very cooperative.
Get together with out of town friends
Excellent food and food choices. Service excellent
Have frequented the Chicago and Las Vegas properties many times and found Bathesda to exceed my expectations. Steaks and sauces hit the spot and I only had to drive over 100 miles to visit this location.
All my favorite French bistro favorites are regulars at Mon Ami Gabi, and the wait staff is consistently helpful and personable, whether the place is packed or quieter during off hours.
One of our all-time favorites to bring friends! Service was impeccable.
I was disappointed with the brussel sprouts. They had little taste and were mushy. The mushrooms, the spinach, and the steaks were delicious.
Excellent waiter. Delicious food.
We’ve been to Mon Ami at Bethesda and Las Vegas and both places are great.
Our server was Missy and she’s just great. We’ve had her during the summer last year and got her again. She’s very pleasant and follows through on any questions she’s doesn’t know the answers too. Which is nice.
We have been to Mon Ami Gabi a few times over the years. The food and drinks are generally good. This time, I must say the salmon special of the day and the baked goat cheese were excellent. The steak Roquefort and the dessert Profiteroles were good, nothing special. It’s a nice place to have dinner after the movie. Service was good.
We had brunch and the overall experience was great. We will definitely go back
Service was not great . I asked for the fish ( trout ) with no sauce . When it arrived it tasted like butter . I have no idea why they can’t just grill it instead of putting on all this butter . It took ten minutes just to get the bill . Very disappointed in this meal .
French Onion Soup never disappoints.
The French Onion Soup here is about as good as it gets. It has tons of onions, a rich broth, several pieces of bread and a generous portion of nicely browned and melted cheese. Paired with the fresh French bread and a glass of Latour Chardonnay you can't go wrong. My husband had the Lobster Bisque which was also very warming. We shared the chocolate caramel tart (paired with thick fresh whipped cream) which was good and great for sharing. It is so rich, it would be difficult for one person to finish it.
There were virtually no vegetarian options. Very disappointing.
Steak was perfect. Was not a big fan of the sandwiches
The food is reliably good with good quality ingredients. There are many excellent waitstaff, but Ruben is the best!
The best service and great night to listen to jazz.
the setting is pleasant. Very good service and good food. Good variety of food and dessert. When the weather is nice, it's most pleasant to be able to sit and eat outside.
Food is consistently good, but service was lacking this visit. Had to request a napkin, dessert silverware, ground pepper and water refills!
. Good Food. Conveniently located to Bethesda Landmark Theater. Have dinner after the movie.
Absolutely excellent French bistro serving wonderful food, in a lovely setting, with service staff that truly care about providing a terrific dining experience.
We went for Sunday brunch. The initial off-putting occurrence was that one of the tea cups on the table had a large brown smudge inside, large enough so that it should have been noticed when the table was set. The menu was a good size but, specifically for a Sunday brunch at 11am, there was not a large selection. The waiter was soft-spoken and did not seem very familiar with the unlisted specials. After hearing other waitstaff listing specials that our waiter had not mentioned, we asked him to check if there were other dishes that he had missed. (We all commented on how odd it was that we could hear the waiters speaking at other tables clearer than we could hear our own.) Our waiter returned and listed another dish but it was not the one we had overheard. We gave up and ordered. The food really was very good, although my decaf coffee was unpleasantly bitter, but the whole dining experience was disappointing. We will probably try again but it won't be for awhile.
Great service and delicious food! One of our favorite locations for Sunday brunch!
As always, the food and service were excellent. We were taken on time and the table was located in a quiet section. Everyones food was delicious and we enjoyed our brunch.
The food is very very good, but the noise could be toned down a bit, it was a little hard to have a conversation.
Lovely lunch today. The french onion soup had a little too much bread and not enough broth but tasty as always. service was great.
I do not write reviews where I need to complete a certain number of characters.
Dined at this restaurant for the first time based on a run recommendation of a friend. Overall the ambience is amazing like being in a Paris bistro. However the food had some disappointments. I requested so I told spinach rather than fries with my steak. The spinach was extremely salty and not edible. My husband had the steak au poivre with fries. The fries were unremarkable. The steaks were good to very good but not excellent. In summary, the Decour of this restaurant is amazing. The food is somewhat disappointing.
The service was amazing and the quality of food is Impeccable
