The food, atmosphere and service were fantastic! We will definitely return!
Very nice restaurant, try the steak & frites! Try to sit outdoors
I had a delightful brunch with great food and service (Eric?) between films at the Bethesda Row Theater May 18th and May 19th. Smoked Benedict/Gazpacho - Chicken Mushroom Crepe/Profiterole.
outstanding!!! ... as usual it is a great experience to dine at Mom Ami Gabi
Excellent wine recommendation from the wines by the glass list.
Made the evening totally worthwhile
Mon Ami Gabi is one of our favorites and on a special occasion, such as a birthday, with good food & wine, great service by Tim, a full moon and warm breeze what could be better!
MOn Ami gabi is one of our favorite places for a special dinner.
Great sitting outside. Really enjoyed a lovely evening.
Had dinner here on Monday & Wednesday night. Ate at the bar on Monday - excellent service. Wednesday night ate in the dining room - Server Ruben was very professional & helpful with menu suggestions. Great French Wine List - steamed mussels were very good as was the NY Steak. Salmon Entree was my favorite. Ambiance spot on - thought I was back in Paris. Highly Recommend this place.
We went with 2 children ages 6 and 8. The kids menu gave them selections that worked well for their ages, although they did enjoy dipping bread into the garlic/butter sauce from our escargot. Adults enjoyed typical french bistro meals that were well prepared. Service was very good too.
While the restaurant has the ambiance and feel of a more upscale joint, the price point does not break the bank. Additionally, contrary to my usual experience at other French restaurants (looking at you Le Diplomate), the waitstaff was outstanding. Never had an empty water glass. The food was delicious. Complimentary baguette to start off the meal was warm and had the perfect crisp. Food was excellent. I went on my anniversary and they unexpectedly gifted us dessert. Can't wait to return.
An excellent evening thanks to our server, Brenden! He was very efficient and informative.
The desserts at Mon Ami Gabi are pure perfection!
Note: The lights in the back right dining room need to be a little brighter. Almost impossible to read the menus! We passed around a candle that Brenden, thankfully, brought to out table.
This is one of our go-to places to celebrate special occasions. The food is consistently very good. The service can be uneven at times. It depends on the server. Do make reservations.
One of our favorite restaurants👍 We frequent Mon Ami
Mother’s Day, was a little late and they cancelled the reservation. Fortunately, there was space in the bar area.
Took us 45 minutes to get a cup of coffee... Food was fantastic though and worth the wait.
We used to love this place but on a recent visit the service was very slow, the food was mediocre to bad, and it was an overall disappointing experience.
Best waiter ever! He made the dinner a 10+- unfortunately we did not get his name but he was a gentleman from Argentina-
It was nice classical place to have family ,friends have cozy warm eating place together. French onion soup was very good.
A most enjoyable lunch.
Arrived at 11:30.
Special kudos to host, agreed to move us, a larger table at that time.
Gazpacho & escargot both outstanding.
Our server also excellent.
Bloody Mary didn’t live up to the last one I had ordered.
Perhaps making their mix bland?
However, asked for horseradish &
Look forward to returning.
The Saturday moring brunch at Mon Ami Gabi was splendid for our family. The Quiche Lorraine and Eggs Benedict were wonderful and tasty, service was great, and the atmosphere was delightful. We will certainly go again!!
Our server, Gregory, could not have been more gracious or helpful!
Friendly French Bistro. Never been disappointed. My go to place in Bethesda for lunch. Gotta get there early for happy hour though.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. The initial person that came to our table offered no greeting. She walked up, poured water, walked away, and then brought bread and butter. It would've been nice if she had at least said, "Good evening.", or something to that effect. Restaurants should offer hospitality above all things- that lady was not hospitable. Food was amazing!
It was generally good but I think the servers should be more transparent about the cost the specials . I was stunned that the halibut with asparagus was 40 dollars this week when most entree dishes are in the 20 to 30 dollar range
Had an early mother's day celebration. The service was excellent and so was the food! We were very happy with our evening out.
This is not our first visit.
The seared halibut and garlic spinach were perfect; taste and texture. My husband's rare filet mignon was flavorful and tender. His asparagus appeared to be overcooked and under-seasoned. After I expressed my distaste for the artichoke, the service was very accommodating and readily exchanged it for the spinach.
After 7:30 pm, noise level increased significantly despite our seating in a quieter area (per request). It is a very popular spot.
We eat here a lot. We even had our wedding party here several years ago, so it pains me to write a bad review. A few months ago we had a celebratory dinner and everything was perfect. We had lunch here the other day and the food was not up to snuff. I ordered a Lyonnaise salad and it was not properly prepared. The bacon was over cooked and cold and there was no dressing on the salad. (The dressing should have been made from the hot bacon fat). I sent it back and ordered a quiche and that was well past it’s prime and the accompanying salad greens had no dressing either. I think the real chef must get Tuesday lunch off and whomever was in the kitchen lacked the necessary skills. Very disappointing.
The restaurant is lovely, especially the outdoor eating area. But the food was mediocre. My arugula salad was not fresh at all. Steak was tough. And despite having a gluten-free menu, the staff were not up to speed re: the specifics of the diet.
I was pleasantly surprised. We came here to eat after a show at Imagination stage. It was very true to it's French style with some original twists. I always judge a French restaurant by its butter and theirs passed with flying colors. They serve you a full Baquette in a paper bag with that delicious butter in a tradition french butter dish. We went with the traditional steak frits. They had a nice herb butter on top. Yummy. Our waiter was excellent.
Outstanding food, as always. However, out Saturday night server seemed overwhelmed and distracted, asking questions about our needs and satisfaction on a few occasions as she was walking by our table. She kept walking before we could answer and never looked back. We usually come every other week in the summer and sit outside, since the clammer and noise is too intense inside. Not much you can do about that, since you seem to be squeezing in more tables.
Meh. That's how I feel about on Ami Gabi. I've never understood the attraction. We went here because my friend chose it for her birthday lunch after a movie next door. As always, it took way too long for our server to acknowledge us. Once she did though, she was the best part of our meal. We had eggs benedict and salmon salad - good, not great. No one acknowledged my friend's birthday, which I noted on my Open Table reservation. Mon Ami Gabi isn't worth the cost. There are better restaurants within a block.
Perfect evening! Thanks
One of my favorite French restaurants in the area. Food is simply delicious and the bread is to die for. It is becoming quite overpriced, and the selection of wines, starting at $50, is grossly overpriced.
We always enjoy dining at Mon Ami Gabi. A great gathering spot for any meal. The food is always fresh, well-prepared, and the service, always friendly and accommodating. This time we had Saturday brunch. The quiche was excellent and the mussels were the largest I've seen outside of Belgium! Too full for dessert this time, but will be back for the profiteroles or chocolate mousse another time.
Excellent muscles. The duck appetizer outstanding.
Lovely Friday night dinner. Delicious salmon. Good service.
Noisy place with mediocre food. Has sort of a bistro atmosphere but the food isn't good enough to be called a bistro. I was quite disappointed, particularly by the salads which used almost wilted lettuces.
Food and service were great. Would highly recommend ,
I bought a new friend and he really liked the martini.
