Very good execution of all the food delivered to the table. Friendly service. Distanced seating kept noise level modest.
Great food and drinks, attentive service, excellent desserts and overall quality!
Compared to last yr this place has been changed lots.
Even bread was bad. Not recommending here
Everything now is a la carte. Very expensive plus a service fee.
Great to be back at one of our favorite restaurants. Good service on the street corner!
Dined outdoors on a pleasant Sunday late afternoon and although it did take a while for the server to greet us, once we ordered our food, it arrived sooner than expected and everything was delicious -- fantastic mussels and trout!! Will be returning again and felt that the value for the quality of food was excellent.
Wonderful food, excellent service and ambiance.
Salmon and the burger. Don't forget to add a good wine with your food!
Fine dining. Everything is always delicious and service excellent.
This was my first visit to Bethesda for over a year. I was pleased to find the nice variety of outdoor dining especially at my favorite spot, Mon Ami Gabi. The lunch prix fixe has a nice variety of choices and the food was as good as always.
There was great emphasis on the website of a 90 minute "meal allowance." The exact time we arrived was recorded at the welcome desk; however, the waiter totally missed the mark as we attempted to "obey." We were seated for 30 minutes before our orders were taken and at least twenty minutes after our entrees were completed we had to go inside the restaurant to find someone to place our dessert orders. Fortunately, we were not ostracized for being at the restaurant for two hours.
Trout was excellent as was profiterole! Service took a bit longer but was very friendly. Remote outdoor seating not as nice but happy to eat a great meal at a restaurant after such a long time!
We all ordered the steak frites and they were excellent. Profiteroles for dessert sealed the deal.
Beautiful day to dine outdoors - plenty of seating with the road closure !
Party of 3. Gave the rating based on our server. Seemed that we were an inconvenience versus a valued customer. He is not an asset to your business. By actions of his other tables served by same waiter, they seemed displeased as well.
totally average meal, with acceptable service .
Service was good and the food was on point. Would go back again.
Everything was delicious and service was excellent.
It was great to be out again for the first time in ages and this is such a nice restaurant. Nothing is as good as it was the last time we were there (14 months ago!), but I know they are making do under challenging conditions. We’ll be back.
steak is ok spinach has too much garlic overall a decent place
Things are a little bit different with the whole pandemic.
There weren’t enough servers. There’s not a bar. That being said the food was still amazing even if it was slow. The service was pleasant just stretched thin. I will absolutely go back. Just give them time and patience and then I hope with time it will be back to it’s full potential!
Always pleased with my Gabi experience. Quality food, service and convenience.
Waiter was awesome, food was eh
i need more macaron cookies it showing on the pictures but you guys didn't have any.
It was a great birthday party!
I liked eating outside- good service!
Loved this restaurant. I highly recommend it! Get the French toast your won’t be sorry.
The waiter seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had. It took forever to just put our order in and we always had to ask another person walking by to find our waiter if we needed anything, including the check. Even the busboy who delivered the food was overwhelmed so much to h the point that he was just flat out rude. At one point we asked if he could remove the menu from our two-top table so we could have more room in which he snatched the menu from the table, crumbled it up and catapulted it from where he was standing to the trash can. You can imagine the embarrassment my friend and I had.
Overall we just weren’t happy and aren’t planning to go back anytime soon.
This is our go-to place in Bethesda. Even through the pandemic, we did carry-out and bought lots of good wine early on. There are never any surprises. Excellent every time!
Our waiter had to be reminded about one of our beverage orders. Maybe he was stretched over too many tables. When one person has their cocktail and the other person doesn’t, you lose much of the flow that makes dining out special. We finally got it but it shouldn’t have been that much trouble.
BTW we come from the school that believes diners should increase their normal tip by 50-100% to help out servers who have been out of work. We have been doing that. But in return we expect reasonable service. We didn’t get reasonable service and left only a 20% tip.
Everything was great, the food, service, ambience. Only problem was parking, but not restaurant's fault. It' was my mother's 92nd birthday and she loved it. Thank you
Even during Covid, delicious food and very friendly service
Nice go to place - although the ambiance outside could be much nicer and cleaner
fun to eat outside on a beautiful weekend - brunch is delicious and the staff is wonderful
The food wasn’t great, the server was fine but seemed so slammed everything was a rush when he was at our table. Not his fault but lack of support from management I assume.
My Favorite Restaurant! I had dinner with my grandchildren who also love the food at Mon Ami. I never get tired of eating there and will be back soon with friends.
All of the staff were great at maintaining covid safety standards, which may have slowed service down a bit, but everything was great. I got the quiche, which was bigger than expected and a great value!
So glad this lovely place is still with us. Food was as delicious as always- but enjoyed outside. Terrific for celebrating or just a fine meal that feels special.
Although the mgr allowed me to skip paying because of the poor service. I will simply never return. Why wait for 25 min to have a wine glass refilled? And then 10 min to get wine glass #2. The waiter loudly and aggressively would not take away my finished dishes while waiting for the next course.
Happily, I went to a fabulous French restaurant in Tenleytown to compensate for such awful service at Mon Ami Gabi and its mediocre food.
Never again - to all - Why not try a small local restaurant rather than a chain that doesn’t really care about you ????
Mon Ami Gabi has long been a favorite of mine so it was with much anticipation that I reserved a table for my first post-Covid birthday dinner. The escargots and steak frites were as expected. It was when we ordered a baguette ($1.95 for a demi baguette) to sop up the garlicky butter of the escargots that things took a turn. The baguette was so hard that we could barely chew it and when we told the waiter he simply said that they were bought from across the street. I got a similar response from the hosting staff although we were offered a ciabatta roll which we accepted as the garlic butter was still awaiting. We finished our meal and wine and after some time were able to call over the waiter for dessert. We ordered the profiterole, a favorite of mine. Sadly it seemed old--the pastry was hard and the chocolate was still cold. We ate what we could and asked for the bill and were somewhat surprised to see that we were charged for the baguette. I am hoping that this experience was the result of Covid related issues and that as things continue to open this restaurant will return to pre-Covid excellence. I will probably wait at least six months to return. A good French restaurant should have a good baguette and include bread with the meal.
