Momofuku Má Pêche Ratings and Reviews
Some of the food was great as expected (duck liver toast, cocktails), but some was disappointing (trout). The interior needs some attention. I’m fine with a hole in the wall, but if you go to a place that is trying to be (and used to be) elegant, then stair case shouldn’t look like a bar and peach drapes shouldn’t have mold(?) on them. Service was nice, not too loud.
Overall enjoyed our experience, but the waitress was very pushy about the quantity of food ordered. We were a party of 6, and after going around the table to place our order, she insisted that the restaurant typically recommends 6 plates on the table at all times and that we had not ordered enough food for the group. We politely declined, saying that we would take another look at the menu, and in the end had more than enough food for the group. I’m glad we didn’t order more food - but seemed unprofessional the way we were pushed (not just a quick suggestion) to add to the order.
Went to the restaurant for New Year’s Eve dinner, it was an $85 per person prix fixe menu. The only good thing on the menu were the oysters, everything else was either not well prepared or just tasted bad. The prime rib was brought out completely rare and bloody, and we weren’t even asked how we wanted it done. After we said we wanted it medium well, they brought back out with only one side cooked, the other side still completely rare. Terrible food, mediocre environment, extremely high price for what you’re getting. AVOID AT ALL COST.
Enjoyed NYE fixed priced dinner for $85 and it was worth the price. Everything from the oysters we started with to the whole branzino with kabocha squash curry was delicious. I especially appreciated all the beautiful radishes & radicchio in the salad and other vegetable dishes. Dessert was ice cream with crumbled cookies, not extraordinary, so didn’t live up to the rest of the meal. We were late to our reservation due to flight delay. I called them to let them know and they were nice, told us to come anyway. We were further delayed due to street closures due to the NYE celebration but they were very welcoming when we arrived.
If this is what David Chang can do, he is totally overhyped. The restaurant is in the basement and has the ambience of sitting in a tent. We had the NYE Prix Fixe menu and everything was pretty one note—the oysters had a funny taste, the raddichio salad was bland, the noodles course and the prime rib were good, but everything was served lukewarm. They weren't even that busy so can't blame it on that. Entire bill was over $300, which is outrageous given the quality of the food.
The only bright spot was the service—was attentive and friendly. Not enough to make me go back, though.
Everything is overpriced. The portion is small for the price. Kimchi Burger itself was good, but french fries came with it were just regular not so impressive fries and not worth the money. There were no bread for the table, no complimentary snack or dessert.
I have dined at this restaurant more than several times, recommended it to friends, etc. After this visit, that's just a no. For a restaurant that wasn't busy, our server was either hovering or disappeared. The dishes that I loved, like the broccoli salad, were tasteless. Not sure if this place is coasting as it's in a hotel, but nothing delicious or what I have experienced in the past.
bloody Mary's were fantastic
chicken and waffles excellent
pork sandwiches out of this world
We had a miss understanding about how many entrees were ordered and they did not charge us for the salmon toast and I appreciate that
too much food for 3 people
service was great otherswise
The service was exceptional good, and our cocktails were exemplary. The corned beef buns were the best thing we ate, and they were great. Unfortunately, the combo of broccoli “salad,” habenero fried chicken, and rice cakes were too rich (and spicy) to have together. We couldn’t finish our meal or even contemplate the desserts (which looked promising) because of of the heaviness of everything else. I’d definitely come back but order differently.
Weird; no windows and no decoration! The place is not cozy. Besides the waitress was really friendly, polite and helpful the food was a weird combination - fusion Asian + modern food; but textures that didn’t match!
My fish was good, but the meat arrived cold!
It was an experience; but I would never come back!
Very impressed all around! The restaurant was extremely accommodating for our large party and the food and drinks were phenomenal while maintaining a high level of creativity. Highest praise goes to our server Carter. He knocked it out of the park! That man knows how to work a table. Way to go Ma Peche!
