Momofuku CCDC offers group dining and private dining featuring customizable set menus.
This place rocked! Every dish was packed with savory and interesting flavors, we loved them all. The drinks were perfectly balanced and a great compliment to the dishes The service was spot on as were the volume and vibe. We’ll be back.
The food here is simply delicious - one of the best desserts (olive oil cake w/ pineapple) we've ever had. My main of Garlic Noodles w/ crab was spot on. Lively, friendly, casual, sumptuous. Go.
The service was outstanding, the food was not. I was there for brunch so maybe that's why the menu was underwhelming. They ran out of grits for the shrimp so I went for the Momo Bap. It's a rice bowl topped with veggie pickles and an egg. It was so salty, so saturated in gochujang that I had to ask for a plain side of rice to be able to eat it. I finished that rice and still couldn't get through half the pickles on top, and I love salt and pickles. Very small portion to boot and overly priced for what it was. Maybe I'll try again on a weekday.
Delicious food, great recommendations by the server and suggestions to get a variety of dishes and share among the 4 of us.
We arrived at 11:30 am for an early lunch. The place was empty, except two other small groups (we each had 2 people). They lined us all up side, by side, so we were right next to each other. We asked if we could move one table over, since it was empty and they said no. The waiter said they had a lot of reservations coming in and wouldn’t have room. Well, he lied. We ate our entire meal and the restaurant never filled up, not even to a third capacity.
If you don’t want us to sit at a more spacious area, just say so, don’t lie about all of the reservations. Getting caught in a lie is not a good way to earn a reputation for good customer service.
Food was good, but overpriced for what we received. If the food was a little lower priced, I would say the food equaled the price. We have visited a lot of restaurants this week, most much higher priced than this, and were really happy paying more for better tasting food.
We had to wait for drink refills only once. Again, not busy, but staff were just talking to each other, so unnecessary to wait.
We must have just had a bad experience here, as other people seem to love it. Lying to us at the beginning probably just left a bad taste in our mouth for this restaurant.
The food and the service was exceptional! Loved the bread and pimento spread & the spicy lamb spread. The cucumbers were outstanding! The chicken & branzino - delish.
Our server, Josh, was absolutely incredible. Every recommendation he made was superb and spot on. I have never had such a knowledgable server. The food was delicious and a wonderful surprise. I hate salad and Josh recommended a very tasty one. If I am ever in DC again, I am 110% coming back. Worth every penny!!
We actually went for the outside dining and it was great!
Had a delicious dinner with my daughter and grandson. The staff was busy but friendly offered a simple chicken and rice meal for my 7 year old grandson. My daughter and I shared the cucumbers, hamatchi tuna crude, and garlic pasta with crab. All delicious. We loved the food and enjoyed the ambiance.
It was great
They did a great job catering to specific guests allergies
We love Momofuku and was recently at one of the the NYC locations. When we were there, we were told that in all locations, the pork belly buns were taken off the menu but still available upon request. We looove the buns and when we got back to DC, we invited an out of the country couple to dine at CCDC as they love pork belly buns. To our disappointment, we were told that CCDC doesn’t serve them anymore. That was really the only thing we can for but ended up ordering something else as we didn’t really have plan b for dining options. It was a sad sad day.
Visiting DC and tried this place and was pleasantly surprised! The Branzino dish and Thai noodles and all the bing bread were awesome!
Great food, service, & drinks!
Fantastic service in a great atmosphere. Really enjoyed the eclectic menu - looking forward to returning!
Overpriced and the food was not fabulous. Good, but that's all.
Truly Outstanding! Service was excellent and were very helpful in accommodating a gluten allergy for one person is our party. They marked up the menu and suggested items that would work well for the whole group (e.g. a particular kind of hummus dip that pairs well with both the crudite and bing bread). Additionally, they use tamari for their soy sauce, which is naturally gluten free, so this significantly opens up their menu for those sensitive to gluten, compared to many other Asian cuisines.
Standout dishes include: the curried beets, spicy cucumber, beef & lamb dumplings, branzino ssam, and the duck for two.
Food and service were both wonderful.
Best restaurant experience we’ve had in DC.
Evan was a fabulous waiter and we enjoyed every bite of the food. Even my kids sucked down the spiced lamb appetizer.
Went there for late lunch, the foods are Mix Asian and they were good but not outstanding, less than I expected
Great suggestions made by the waiting staff. Delicious and fresh!
We were overall pleased with our meal, although we were disappointed that the menu had changed. We ate here a year or two ago and had ramen and steamed buns. I brought out of town guests and without the ramen option, the menu seemed a little too limited. We did enjoy the seasonal dishes, but would’ve loved the original menu to be offered as well.
Momofuku is no longer what it used to be. There is way too much fusion going on. I have been going to Momofuku since they first opened in NY and will no longer visit one again. They discontinued the pork buns and ramen altogether. Why, when that was what made them famous in NY when they first opened ages ago? We ordered the Beet salad, lemongrass overpowered the taste; Crispy Chicken salad that had so much blue cheese and dressing; the Branzino was good but nothing special; the Lamb wrap, had overpowering moroccan spices mixed with Korean flavors, that was just confusing and not good at all; the Soft Shell crab wrap, was okay. The Calamansi slush was way too concentrated. I am Filipino and Calamansi is from the Philippines. We serve our juice there much less concentrated, not at all yellow in color like your slush. Our fresh Calamansi slushes and juices are clear in color. Overall, I was so disappointed and embarrassed since my foodie guests from abroad were first timers who had heard lots about Momofuku and David Chang through the years.
Great flavors, fun food. Fine dining in a casual setting. Great service, staff competent and engaging
Entrees weren’t as good as I was hoping for. Noodles dish was oily and not very flavorful. Service was excellent though!
Here for a conference and ended up dining alone; everyone seemed okay with this except my waitress who took my order, never came back, and forgot to put in my drink and entree 😑. Thankfully I was able to flag down another waitress who was extremely nice, she got my drink informed me of the entree issue and was awesome. The spicy lamb is amazing!! The Branzino ssam was a massive disappointment. The lettuce was limp and not really suitable for making a lettuce taco, the aioli was bland; which is a feat given its ingredients, and the branzino itself was under seasoned. I really really wanted to like this dish and kept experimenting with different amounts of each components. But it never came together as a cohesive combination of flavors. I’d still go back, I feel like this has to be a fluke and that spicy lamb 😍😍 just wish I could have given 4 or 5 stars on my first Momofuku visit. Oh well, next time :)
Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.
I was afraid that Momofuku was going to another one of those overhyped restaurants in DC. In fact, it lived up to all expectations and then-some.
My wife was cashing in an anniversary present from 2yrs ago, and I decided I needed to up the ante and try Momofuku as I’ve always been a fan of the chef but never actually eaten there.
That meal was the best thing we’ve eaten in almost.......well.....EVER!!
The appetizers were spot on!! They weren’t too heavy, and prepped the palate for the meal ahead. Everything that was recommended by our server, Billy, was exceptional!!
My wife and I received a complimentary glass of wine, which we refilled, I ordered some bourbon and the night was amazing!! Just the right amount of casual and ambiance to make my wife feel special without having to get super dressed up!!
Like all the Momofukus, this was excellent and surprisingly affordable.
I've always been a big fan of the Momofuku empire. Interior was their standard spare industrial. Reviews all mentioned the spicy cucumber which was indeed very good. But the beets with radishes was a pleasure with every mouthful. Bing bread was delicious , which we had with the trout spread. But it was the duck ssam for two that was the crowning glory. Perfectly cooked duck breast with crackly skin, served with duck sausage and fried rice, together with fixings to make lettuce wraps. I could have eaten that all day. Olive oil cake with roasted pineapple and salted caramel was other worldly. Service was attentive and helpful with all our food questions. Overall a fantastic meal. p.s if the Summer G + T is an option for a cocktail, get it. 🍹
This is the second time I have been to Momofuku CCDC. The food and service were consistent and excellent. The only issue I had was with the noise level which is loud and it’s difficult to have a conversation at the table without shouting.
WARNING: NEW MENU = NO PORK BUN, NO RAMEN
I had read rave reviews about the pork buns and the ramen at this restaurant so I told friends about those and took them there only to find out these key items are no longer in the new, Indian-cuisine-infused new menu. What a disappointments. The tastes of what we ordered seemed conflictual, not great. I won’t go back.
Great food and experience as always. Though I really wish ramen would come back on the menu at this location.
Slow food which wasn’t a problem. Estimates for the size of the larger plate entrees to share was less than expected when compared to other dishes.
Great food and great service. They were great with my gluten free allergy. Very helpful recommending gf options or modifications. Loved it
Good food as usual however the Pork Belly Buns and the Ramen was not on the menu. Our 2 favorites!!
Food is inventive, delicious and high quality, but still very accessible no matter how adventurous an eater you are or are not. Service is lovely, thoughtful and unobtrusive. Pitch perfect, really
Great lunch- very attentive service, and excellent food. The vegetarians in our group were very happy with the falafel, and the appetizers were great.
