Overall, my family and I enjoyed dining here, very memorable and our server was great! However, we were disappointed in what is considered "shareable". We were looking for the "hearty, stick to your bones kind of meals" for the price. Despite that, everything was delicious! We plan on returning regardless!
So so good! The tasting menu was fantastic! A perfect amount of food for a good price! Everything was cooked to perfection! Also get the butter bing! Best butter Ive ever had!!
Overall all good but menu too limited
The food was interesting - tasty, but not really exciting. They originally overcharged me for a side dish; they hadn’t re-set the system for the brunch price. But that was quickly and apologetically fixed.
This is the second time my boyfriend and I have been here. The first time we tried the bing bread and the beef ssam for two, this time we wanted to try more small plates. We started with the pimento cheese bing bread. Really tasty and nice spice level. Then we ordered the wings, the sauce was nice but the wings were not very crispy, a little disappointing. Next, we tried the hamachi tartare, wow so tasty! Definitely recommend, the sauce, spice, fish, rice, all perfect and tasty. Then for the main, we ordered the dry spiced chicken. It was OK, the chicken was cooked nicely and the rice had a sort of Indian flavor to it. Probably wouldn’t order it again, it wasn’t very exciting. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate sesame creme brûlée. It was very tasty, a little salty and a little sweet, but we thought the creme was a bit unset with more of the consistency of a pudding than a creme brûlée.
One of the best in the city. Exceeded all expectations. Showed my out-of-town guests a remarkable time. Thank you chefs, wine team, and dining team!
Our waiter, Dwayne was excellent! He was super chill, friendly, and super approachable. He would always come check on us a few times, always at a perfect time. He was very good at updating us on dishes that were on the way. Not use to this! Must be a DC thing haha. Food and drinks were on point! Can't go wrong with anything David Chang.
Awesome meal, everything we had was outstanding from the Bing, to the cucumbers, branzino, and spicy chicken. Oh and the deserts were fabulous. Only hitch was service was a bit off at times. Our main courses arrived a few minutes apart as well as our deserts. Otherwise a wonderful evening.
WOW! The food was excellent. Neat place to grab a bite and drink after work or before a show or event.
Way overpriced but the food, ambience, and service were good. But you are mostly paying for the name.
Some, but unfortunately not all, items were excellent. Excellent - spicy cucumber, bing; okay - chicken; disappointing- beet salad.

The Chef has reinvented food. It was an awesome experience.
This is the second time coming to Momofuku. The first time we had a very poor experience. The manager reached out to me and was incredibly gracious and asked us to return another time. We did and we are so glad we gave it a second chance. The food was impeccably cooked with a diversity of flavor profiles. They paired the wine perfectly with our food choices and the service was attentive, knowledgeable, and not overbearing. Would absolutely recommend for any special occasion.
So many different flavors! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The sweet potato side dish was my favorite. And don't skimp on dessert from Milk Bar next door, it's worth every calorie!

I have been going to momofuku for years. Its attention to detail and the once inspired menu has waned to just rely on its past merits, as opposed to continuing with novel and inspired menu. I think that this restaurant has been neglected by the founding chef David Chang for other kitchens, and still warrants more attention and a re-vitalization of the menu and experience.

The only restaurant I wanted to go to during my DC trip. Maybe my expectations were too high. But both my husband and I were deeply underwhelmed. Maybe the menu was having an off night. But nothing on the menu appealed to us. We got a bread, a small plate and two large plates and they were all...ok. Granted, we expected orgasmic creativity. The food wasn’t bad. But it did not stand out to us at all in any way. Just expensive and over hyped. I wish I didn’t have to say this. I soooo was looking forward to this restaurant. (Ps Milkbar pie was delicious and worthy of trying next door)
Unreal dinner experience. The Tri Tip entree that says it served 2-3 really does serve 3 people, and I’m a big eater. Great value, great food, and a great place to have a nice dinner experience.
Very good food - better than most meals I’ve tasted in Washington, DC - but the ambience leaves much to be desired and could do with a serious makeover. The music was way too loud and, really, there needs to be something warmer or more interesting on the walls. The service was adequate but I felt that some wait staff were simply going through the motions - not serving with the love such cuisine deserved. Because of the volume of the music, mostly, I won’t return. But I’ll carry those delicious food flavors with me...
The bartenders were great at taking care of the four of us. Responsive to our questions and helping select the drinks. The server at dinner was patient and described the choices. She took her time to let all of us enjoy our dinner and our conversations w each.
I absolutely love Momofuku. You must try the bing bread with sunflower dip and beet salad. Excellent service and great ambience.
We love this place. Everything on the menu has show-stopping taste. Great wine list. Great servers. Last night we ordered the Rockfish (serves 2) and the server kindly informed us that our choices added up to more food than we'd ever manage to eat at one sitting....time to back off a choice or two. You have to appreciate a restaurant where the servers are that attentive and considerate.
David Chang creates the most interesting, complex and beautiful dishes- I am a huge fan. Every dish that arrived at our table was delicious. I eat a lot of salads and was hesitant to order one, but it was so different and bursting with different flavors with each bite, I was happy I did! My husband and I will come back for sure.
We love Momofuku CCDC because of the creativity of the menu. We like that each visit brings a new experience and new flavors. This was our first visit to brunch, I think we will definitely be back.
I was disappointed in the flavor of the food. Avoid the shrimp dish because the shrimp are flavorless. The cocktails are excellent.
Dinner was wonderful. Not just the food but the cocktails are tasty and unique. Not your run of the mill food. Desserts were as good as the rest of the food. Servers were attentive but not pesky.
I’m a David Chang fan and had been to Saam Bar and Noodle Bar in NYC which were EXCELLENT*** experiences. I’ve never been so angry at being so full that I couldn’t keep eating the food. CCDC however was just a bit subpar compared to the others. The garlic chicken wings were flavored well but a bit over cooked, and the pork katsu was rather tough in texture. Really wanted to try the pork dumplings but they were sold out. Overall this was a good experience and the service was phenomenal, just lacking a bit in the food for me personally. I loved having the option to order dessert from Milk Bar next door.

Great for sharing as well, going with a few friends gives the option to try many of the great courses. Going a la carte, with generous yet delicious portions the value is outstanding and gives the opportunity to try many different dishes.
Try: bing bread with Kale & Mushroom Dip, sunflower horizon also great. Must have the spicy cucumbers, great also the Hamachi Tartare and dumplings.
The Prime Tri-Tip is delicious, incredibly tender. Dry spicy chicken, it's also a great choice!
Distinctive menu, great Asian influences, not your typical wines. Seafood very good.

An interesting restaurant with somewhat different dishes. The ones we had were well made; food was good although not extraordinary. And the menu would be more appealing if it was expanded as bit, but all in all an enjoyable and fairly priced meal.
It was a busy Saturday night and the dining room was hopping, but when is a Momofuku not hopping on a weekend night? No excuses for a veteran establishment. We arrived early for our reservations and checked in. We sat at the bar and waited for our table to be ready. When our time came and went we had to pester the host for a table. Of course it was in the middle of the dining room, small and in a busy walking aisle, sucks for a date night. We ordered a small plate as well as the whole fish entree. The menu is small and lacking interesting choices if you ask me. We were told the whole fish takes about 20 minutes to make. No problem.
The small plate with Bing bread came out and was delicious although on par with Indian Naan you can get anywhere. And then we sat. Forty minutes late we were told it would be ready in five minutes. Ten minutes after that we were brought another order of Bing bread and dip and were told it would be ready in five more minutes because the grill was backed up from all the orders. We did not need more filling bread so the complimentary bread and dip were left alone.
Almost an hour after our initial order our fish arrived. My wife was offered a complimentary glass of wine and she obliged. The fish was average and a little dry. The accompanying sides were spot on although small in quantity for a dish meant for 2 people.
We were given a few Milk Bar cookies as parting gifts for the crummy treatment we received.
I have always been a big fan of the Momofuku empire and it is disheartening to experience poor quality in their restaurants. This was our worst Momofuku meal ever. We have been to every one in USA.You know what they say about one's britches being too big for the person. I follow Mr. Chang on social media, congrats on the new baby, but your other babies are in need of your attention.
Momofuku failed to make the Wash Post's Best Of DC Dining guide this year. Between the menu selections and recent service, I understand why.
Went to Momofuku for Brunch, we had 1100 reservations (right when they opened) and were seated right away, I think the food and service was pretty good. We had the bing bread (great!) the chicken sandwhich (great!) the momo bap (meh) and the corn pancake (great!). However the music was pretty loud, and they turned the heat on for the first time for the season and the smell was not great.
