I was pleasantly surprised with the flavors and freshness of my meal at Momiji. I am a vegetarian and could find plenty of non-fish items. I loved the look and lay out of the restaurant. We ate in the far back room past the Japanese garden. My friends devoured their sushi and we had a delicious seaweed salad and agedashi tofu to share. I plan to come back and bring others asap.
We always look forward to dining at Momiji whenever we head to Seattle. The food and service is consistently good.
Waitress was a bit cold and the water guy would not leave us alone!!
but the food was amazing as always. I’ll always come back for the food. Best sushi in Seattle!!
Delicious. Big menu. Awesome atmosphere.
Happy hour prices made this place more affordable. Crispy calamari, shrimp/vegetable tempura, and salmon skin roll were our favorite. Grilled short ribs were tough and the spicy ginger chicken were disappointing.
Glad we made reservations for 5PM on a Saturday. All tables filled while we were there.
Food was not great and overpriced.
First off, the restaurant is beautiful and we were seated for our reservation on time. However, the appetizers were terrible and the rolls we ordered were just passable. The maitake tempura was undercooked, both the mushroom and interior batter parts. The goma tofu wasn’t tofu. Our waitress wasn’t able to explain it, but googling revealed that it’s imitation tofu made out of sesame paste. Maybe it was the tiny menu font, but I must have missed this detail. Tofu or not, it was truly terrible in texture and taste, and I’m a sesame lover. Will not be coming back to momiji.
Momiji is always fantastic !! Their specialty rolls are great, and their simple rolls are really well-made !! You get lots of fish in every roll. Appetizers are bomb , too !
Quality fish, extensive menu. Delicious
Great ambience, service and food. However the noise level was so high making it almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Not a good place if you need to talk. We were hoping to catch up with an out-of -town friend who was visiting.
We had a great dinner; the ultimate dragon, the Capitol Hill roll and our last roll I can’t remember the name (I think it’s the pink something) we’re all amazing! To top our dinner of we had the tiramisu and boy was it the best way to end our meal, couldn’t be anymore happy
We were recommended to come here so we did! Made reservations because this is a hot spot. The service was fast and friendly. The rolls are huge and moderately expensive. We got one roll that was finished on top with a food torch and it left a propane taste on the roll which we did not like. Everything else was great. We had a baby and stroller and they stored out stroller in the back and accommodated our baby.
Great food, terrible service from the waitress however her support staff (bused) was more friendly then her and great!
Great happy hour! Good food and service
I love Momiji. Great vibe, awesome sushi, and lots of modern / unique twists on sushi rolls and cocktails. Fish is always fresh, and flavor combinations are so good.
The wait for a table was a bit silly since there were at least 10 tables open, but the service, food and people were awesome! The sashimi is incredible and the rolls are inventive and fun!
My favorite sushi spot. Value is great and environment is cozy. Our server was quite cold, however.. that was the only negative. The rest was Devine ✨
The Geisha and Moonraker are easily our favorite dishes. The sauces are excellent! Very well made old fashioned’s as well.
Food was great - no complaints there. That said, the menu seems largely disorganized and it isn't clear from description or price how much food comes on a plate. Additionally, our server couldn't make specific recommendations when asked and instead just pointed to relatively popular menu items.
Love the old fashioned drink
A bit slow on the seating, and inconsistent service, but DELICIOUS food in a lovely atmosphere. I’ll certainly try them again.
Sushi was amazing. Great ambiance and great customer service.
Terrific restaurant. Varied Japanese menu. Food was excellent. We’ll be back often.
Recently developed a gluten allergy, which can be annoying to a restaurant, let’s be honest, but the server was so sweet and helpful re: gf options. It really made my night. And the food is always amazing.
Hope our server was awful. Food was excellent as always
Happy hour pricing is on point. Highly recommend coming here for that
My dinner at Momiji was impeccable. As a solo diner, some restaurants do not make me feel welcome during the dinner hour. The hostess at Momiji was upbeat when she learned my companion would not be available for dinner and asked if I would prefer to sit at the sushi bar. Would I? YES! She gave me a prime seat and I ordered off of the specials list. My preference is for nigiri and sashimi without special sauces and foliage. Momiji did not disappoint. The fish was fresh, delectable, and expertly prepared. The timing of the waitress was flawless.
Everything we ordered was amazing! The food is very fresh and well prepared. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle!!
Food is amazing... Best sushi in town!
.. But too noise
My husband is going through the process of becoming a United States citizen (he’s English, I’m American.) We’ve gotten through a tough part of the immigration process so we wanted to celebrate at our favorite sushi restaurant! :)
Great happy hour sushi
Came here for dinner with a friend. We each started with one of their signature cocktails. Very tasty. We ordered a number of items off the happy hour menu - sushi, calamari, ginger chicken and tempura. We also ordered the jalapeño himachi of the regular menu and it was awesome. Love the decor and setting in this restaurant. We had more food than we could eat. It was wonderful.
Our server was great! Very knowledgeable and professional. Ambience was perfect. Food was delicious.
I would have given them 5 stars but we had reservations and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated with many open tables...
The drinks were fantastic...creative and very tasty. Easily the best part of the experience. The sushi rolls were average. We ordered 3 with different ingredients in each one. They all tasted very similar. A friend had a hot entree that was pretty good. Perhaps the hot entrees are the way to go here.
We made it for happy hour and enjoyed a few roles + wine for around $25/person (before tip). When I have gone to this restaurant outside Happy Hour I usually spend double that *but* the non-happy hour rolls are much more elaborate and frankly yummier. Momiji is a very similar sushi restaurant to Umi (in Belltown).
Momiji was ok. Nice upscale interior. The sushi was good. No complaints. I feel it was a fair price and not overpriced. The downside is the place is very large inside and it is very noisy. Not great for ambiance conducive to dating. Good for groups. Waiter had something stuck up his butt, but I suspect he was having a tough day.
Good sushi. Disappointing that we had to wait over 10 minutes even though we had a reservation. We were there on a Thursday night for a little date and the whole place was very busy. Not exactly an intimate restaurant when you feel like you're a part of the conversation at the table next to you. Cocktails were good though.
Great food. Every item ordered was delicious!
