Food and service were fantastic. Beautiful decor. However it was incredibly noisy. The people at the table next to us were very rowdy and no one asked them to lower their volume. I could hardly hear my date across the table at times. Good for a more casual night out.
Perfect evening with great service and even better food.
Love this place! One of the best selections of vegetarian sushi in the city! Great ambiance cocktails as well.
Momiji was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was seriously gorgeous and our seats were amazing. I definitely recommend making a reservation as the restaurant was quite busy for 7pm. Being able to sit at the sushi bar and chat with the chef was fantastic, seeing as though we kind of forgot what all was in our $60 sushi omakase (chef's choice). The fish was cut a little too thick for my liking, but even so it tasted amazing! We also got an order of gyoza which tasted absolutely perfect, and my SO can confirm that the sake is top notch.
I had family visiting from out of town. They have high expectations on fish in seattle. They were amazed at the food, as was I, because it tasted just as good as it looked!
Presentation is clearly important to this restaurant. The taste of their food lived up to any expectation. Sushi is perfectly presented and is as fresh tasting as you can get without eating it on a boat!
Simply not as good as it once was. The sushi is good but not exceptional, the ambiance seems to have become more local and neighborhood-ey than when I first visited some time ago. Back then it was a bit more special.
Delicious sushi and rolls in a lovely setting. Service is spot on.
Food is very good but our experience was eclipsed by the noise level in the restaurant which was uncomfortabley loud. We were not able to hear each other at our table.
We sat at the sushi bar and ate omakase. It was delicious, the service was excellent, and overall we left feeling well fed, relaxed, and happy.
I went to Momiji for a late dinner with a friend. We were seated around 10pm and there was still a decent amount of people seated, but definitely past the dinner rush. Long story short, our waitress provided the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. I have worked as a waitress in the past and I can still say with confidence there was no excuse for her service. She was rude, unapologetic, and slow. We left the restaurant at 11:35pm (so over an hour and a half) and we only ordered a tuna tataki appetizer and two sushi rolls. The food was amazing and I would love to recommend this restaurant but the service was horrible enough for me to never go back.
Beautiful restaurant, stellar service, mind-bending sushi. Would return in a heartbeat.
This place was recommended by a friend. What a great recommendation! My friends LOVED this place! I will be going back. Be sure to make reservations a few days in advanced!
Excellent food, unbelievable sushi, the service was excellent -- Particularly the hostess. We had changed our reservation several times, and she made it so that we could sit in the courtyard after all. She was excellent at customer service! It was a Wednesday night. This is my go to restaurant for birthdays and anniversaries and any other special occasion – I would recommend it to most anyone
The food was fresh, the serving was huge and scrumptious. Service was fast however we noticed that our section had only one server and more than two runners. It could have been faster if there were additional servers. Folks were a little-agitated waiting to be served. The hostess, at the front desk, could use some lessons on being friendly, warm and being more empathetic. She may be a very nice person, however, her body language and demeanor that evening came across as aloof and distant. This are just my observations which can be amended but overall my experience regarding the food and the ambiance was excellent.
It's a wonderful restaurant, great food, beautiful ambience, but what really needs improving is for the employees to pick up the phone for any event changes instead of go on this application to schedule another time or trying to edit my reservation manually. Or trying to leave a voicemail hoping someone would call me back to confirm the reservation had changed. Other than that service was not the greatest, but it was average.
I would reccomend this place to a friend, but I would be sure to let them know the exact time and number of people who are willing to come thru to the event.
Momiji is such a great place, I keep retuning. The food is fresh, the menu is interesting, the vibe is fun and the service is always good.
The food is amazing! Beautiful garden in the middle of the 2 dining rooms. The back room is extremely loud. Friday night service was weak. Next time we come back, it will be on a week night.
Loved having dinner at Momiji. The ambience was great. The staff were nice and the fish was super fresh. Loved the specialty rolls.
Love your food.
The staff is great.
The back room is way to loud to talk across a table.
We had to move tables to the front You really should get a sound expert in to help you do something about it. Add some soft surfaces, fabrics, ceiling tiles?? It’s really unpleasant back there
Momiji felt like a great value. They have very fresh tasting fish that I was impressed by. In addition, their late night menu (10PM and later) is awesome!
Extremely good sushi in a very busy Capitol Hill restaurant! Very fresh fish, inventive rolls, beautiful setting. But, yes it is loud.
Awesome! Friend loved it
Really friendly and fast service w/ delicious sashimi & rolls. Really enjoyed the entire experience, especially the interior design and view of the indoor courtyard.
This place has one of my favorite cut of flounders in the Seattle area. My reservation happened to be my second visit and I had made them for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. We shared the some chef's special seared tuna cheek as an appetizer, $90 Omakase along with a bottle of sake. The sashimi fish was as good as the last time that I was there. It really is an amazing find and worth the money.
I've opted to eat at the back instead of the front of the restaurant by the bar. It's a very beautiful restaurant with a capsuled zen garden right in the middle of it all. Abstract art covers its back room and, in the evening, the restaurant is a bit magical looking with its warm, dim lighting.
The con to Momiji is its noise level. It gets rowdy to which its at the level where you are yelling over to the person/people you've came with. If not for this, I would've checked the 'Romantic' box. Last thing that bothered me a bit was how our omakase was handled by our server. Maybe it was because it was loud, but she was yelling out the cuts of fish and pointing, almost touching, the fish.
Good food, but a little too far removed from traditional Japanese flavors to our liking. Nice buzzing atmosphere with nice decor.
Nice ambience, zen like garden by the seating. We were all vegetarians and there was plenty of option for us, which is seldom available in Japanese/Sushi places. Loved the sushi platter called Lucky leprechaun!!
First time at Momiji.
Didn't realize they had a nice Happy hr. Menu.
Ordered from it. Everything very good.
I really enjoyed the ambiance of the back dining area I was in with the lovely garden .
This restaurant is wonderful. I definitely recommend the happy hour because it's such a great deal! Food is top notch. Definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in Seattle.
Our servers were great! Hosting staff was preoccupied and didn't talk to us for over five minutes after arrival which was a bit frustrating. Good food and great ambiance though.
We come for the great food selection during happy hour. We were in the first seating on a Saturday. The food quality was a bit off our normal experience. We attributed this to being among the first served. It won't keep us from coming back!
This restaurant always delivers with it's great food and amazing service
We've been here many times. Maybe because it was hot and Pride weekend, it just left me flat. The food was good, but not great. Service was a plus. Seemed like we were ushered in and out in a hurry and still spent $100.
I love this place because they have excellent vegetarian options!
Brought a colleague from out of town in pretty late at night- still had excellent service and food!!
We had a reservation at 9pm. When we arrived, our table was not ready. We had to wait a few more minutes. Service was great and sushis were good. The specialty rolls are long and the sushis are not too big. Ingredients were fresh. Good quantity and variety of fish. A little bit expensive.
Great food and service was ok but extremely loud and not quite as upscale and classy as it looked on their website. But otherwise
Fresh fish, three Omakase options. Really good value for what you get.
