Happy hour pricing is on point. Highly recommend coming here for that
My dinner at Momiji was impeccable. As a solo diner, some restaurants do not make me feel welcome during the dinner hour. The hostess at Momiji was upbeat when she learned my companion would not be available for dinner and asked if I would prefer to sit at the sushi bar. Would I? YES! She gave me a prime seat and I ordered off of the specials list. My preference is for nigiri and sashimi without special sauces and foliage. Momiji did not disappoint. The fish was fresh, delectable, and expertly prepared. The timing of the waitress was flawless.
Food is amazing... Best sushi in town!
.. But too noise
My husband is going through the process of becoming a United States citizen (he’s English, I’m American.) We’ve gotten through a tough part of the immigration process so we wanted to celebrate at our favorite sushi restaurant! :)
Great happy hour sushi
Came here for dinner with a friend. We each started with one of their signature cocktails. Very tasty. We ordered a number of items off the happy hour menu - sushi, calamari, ginger chicken and tempura. We also ordered the jalapeño himachi of the regular menu and it was awesome. Love the decor and setting in this restaurant. We had more food than we could eat. It was wonderful.
Our server was great! Very knowledgeable and professional. Ambience was perfect. Food was delicious.
I would have given them 5 stars but we had reservations and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated with many open tables...
The drinks were fantastic...creative and very tasty. Easily the best part of the experience. The sushi rolls were average. We ordered 3 with different ingredients in each one. They all tasted very similar. A friend had a hot entree that was pretty good. Perhaps the hot entrees are the way to go here.
We made it for happy hour and enjoyed a few roles + wine for around $25/person (before tip). When I have gone to this restaurant outside Happy Hour I usually spend double that *but* the non-happy hour rolls are much more elaborate and frankly yummier. Momiji is a very similar sushi restaurant to Umi (in Belltown).
Momiji was ok. Nice upscale interior. The sushi was good. No complaints. I feel it was a fair price and not overpriced. The downside is the place is very large inside and it is very noisy. Not great for ambiance conducive to dating. Good for groups. Waiter had something stuck up his butt, but I suspect he was having a tough day.
Good sushi. Disappointing that we had to wait over 10 minutes even though we had a reservation. We were there on a Thursday night for a little date and the whole place was very busy. Not exactly an intimate restaurant when you feel like you're a part of the conversation at the table next to you. Cocktails were good though.
Great food. Every item ordered was delicious!
Best sushi in Seattle, hands down. My girlfriend and I have been coming here whenever we have friends or family visiting from out of town. It's always a hit. Great food, ambiance, and service.
Food tasted amazing. Only problem we ran into was that I ordered a lychee martini it was not the greatest tasted like perfume, weird. and our waiter was happy to return my drink and exchanged it for a wine sauvignon blanc, also tasted weird not sure what was going on. But service was amazing and the food was perfection super fresh! I honestly know this is a spot I will continue to crave.
This was a fabulous discovery for us. Very nice ambiance & garden view. Fabulous food. An incredible menu. We will need to come back about 8 or 9 times to do justice to the menu possibilities. This is a very authentic Japanese food experience. wow wow wow wow...
Great food and service ! Everything we tried was fantastic.
Was really noisy (needs something fabricy to absorb sound!!) but the servers were great and the food was good
Great food, great waiter. The noise level made conversation hard and the end table by the doorway to the other side of the courtyard was not a prime location for a special occasion dinner. Nonetheless, we will be back because it’s a beautiful spot and damn good sushi.
We had a wonderful experience here and enjoyed all of the various dishes we chose.
Have always enjoyed going to Momiji. However I was very disappointed in the $22 special sushi roll we ordered. It was cut into sliver pieces . I definitely won’t be ordering this again . I should have made a complaint but I was entertaining some friends and didn’t want to ruin the evening. The rest of the food was very good!
Momiji never disappoints. Amazing sushi and cocktails. Happy Hour is a fantastic deal. Service and ambience always top notch.
The menu selection is very wide with both sushi options and cooked items. The presentation of all dishes was lovely. Will definately plan to visit again.
Best Americanized Sushi in Seattle.
Always the freshest of ingredients! Truly enjoy the service and atmosphere. Thank you for always making it a special occasion.
Momiji never disappoints! Always tasty, beautiful, delish and expertly crafted with care. And the staff is always so pleasant and professional; always smiling and helpful. Thank you, Momiji !!!
Best sushi I've ever had!! Highly recommend and arrive hungry!
Wonderful restaurant with great ambiance and food. had some wonderful rolls that were scratch made and so fresh!
Late night bar was awesome!
Favorite sushi place in Seattle. Consistently excellent and fresh! Can’t beat happy hour prices!
The BEST nigiri in Seattle! Amazing experience sitting at the sushi bar and watching the chef craft our amazing meal and experience.
Best sushi I've ever had. They're getting phenomenal ingredients and doing great things with them.
I heard good things but my experience was not. I have never been so I needed time to look over the menu. There is a lot to look at along with some interesting whiskeys. I did not feel like I was not given amble time. My waitress kept coming back to see if I was ready to order even though I had told her I never been there. She made no suggestions. I ordered the Poke which was horribly salty. My sounder roll wasn't bad. I order a noodle dish with seafood. Doesn't tell you what seafood though. Guess i should have asked. I felt because i was a single diner i wasn't really important. Not sure if i'd recommend or go back.
The sushi was great but the ginger chicken was not good. I would recommend getting there for a late dinner because the happy hour dinner menu is a great deal.
My friends and I do our post-Christmas get together every year when everyone is back in town. Most years are wonderful, but this year we got stuck in the back next to an overly loud set of couples, and with a waitress that never seemed to be available to help us. Could barely hear each other, and ended up leaving to have cocktails somewhere else where the noise level was more tolerable. Food was good, but the environment was awful - not sure we will go back next year.
Can't hear a thing in there. So noisy. But the food is fantastic.
I love momiji, we had a great server and my friend had a wonderful time (it was her first time at momiji).
What a find. Momoji is clearly a hit, we arrived to find a line of people waiting for seats. So glad we had a reservation. We were seated promptly in the back area with a view of the beautiful garden hidden within. The menu offers an extensive selection of sushi rolls as well as traditional favorites. We started with vegetable gyoza and beef spareribs. The spareribs were a big hit, as were the rolls we ordered: 007 and green decadence. They were possibly the best sushi rolls we’ve ever had! Yakisoba, asparagus, and chicken karage were average.
My next visit I will focus on miso and sushi rolls. The staff were perfect. They were attentive and available without being intrusive. The atmosphere is clean, upscale and fresh. The noise level was perfect, allowing for easy table conversation. We were also surprised at how reasonable the prices were. We will certainly be back. This is a gem.
We went for the happy hour, which was divine. An extensive happy hour menu and chilled sake. Delicious!
Disclaimer: Momiji is our favorite sushi restaurant in Seattle. But this visit was really disappointing. We were there for our annual tradition of Momiji on Boxing Day and it was a bust. The restaurant was freezing; the hostess couldn't care a whip about us or our special occasion; the 2 waitresses we encountered were nice but not particularly helpful; when we were so cold we asked if we could sit away from the window, we were told the windows were closed so we shouldn't be cold followed by a refusal to give us a booth because it's a 4-top, even though our window table was also a 4-top (upon request we were moved to the sushi counter, which is fun but not exactly intimate for our date night); and the chefs seemed uninspired = the food lacked its usual quality and freshness. Overall, a real bummer for what is typically a really special night.
